1:30 'Toffee Penny' - I've a feeling this might be a Mortimer Road School reference, though I've no idea how it could have been passed down through the generations. I'm about 15 years older than Sarah, born in South Shields but moved away when I was eight. There was a head mistress at Mortimer Road School in the mid 1960s, who kept all the toffee pennies from her Quality Street and gave them to the kids as treats (I think that they must have clagged up her dentures). What I can't work out is if the same lady was still there in Sarah's day (assuming Sarah went to Mortimer Road) or it was passed down as a kind of tradition. I've never come across this as a common teacher-like activity elsewhere.

I love her comedy! 😄 (subscribed on first video i ever saw) Only difficulty i have sometimes in her videos, is to catch some words i can't really identify (slang / complex words / accent specificity). But luckly, i get almost all of it (95%+). Someone please correct me, but i sense Sarah has some kind of specific "region accent" , isn't it? :) I'm not from UK, neither i am from an english speaking country. If someone is ever polite enough to add accurate english subtitles, it would be great (for a 100% experience)! I would be most gratefull, and i honstly believe more people from other countries would also love it. She is much too talented to not be noticed outside UK. 😉
Sarah is from South Shields which is in the North East of England. Her accent is Geordie which is delightful however may be a bit tricky to understand if English is not your first language. 😘

She refers to herself as a "Geordie", and northern. But I'm Dutch so I'm not exactly an expert on British accents. I do hope this helps a bit though!
She was born in South Shields, Tyne and Wear which is close to Newcastle. She would be considered to have a Geordie accent.
