  • In this video, we become Texas residents, register Tortuga in Texas, and get Texas Driver's Licenses. We used Escapees RV Club to do this. escapees.com
We also referenced a blog from Adventurous Way that laid out the steps and made it easy to follow. www.adventurou...
    The process we followed is:
Establish a mailing address in Texas
Move vehicle insurance to the Texas address
    Have the vehicle inspected
Transfer vehicle title & registration to Texas
Apply for a Texas Drivers License
    Apply for mail scanning
Notify Colorado DMV of new address
    Update address everywhere
    Apply for a library card
This was a simple process. We did have to make an appointment in Livingston for the Driver's License but we were able to make it for the same day and went and got our Library Cards while we waited.
A lot of people have asked why this was a sad day for us and the reason is we love CO so much and it is sad to be leaving the state.

Okay. Questions. Why Texas? Taxes? Second, I would think you’d have some kind of emergency jump program, second battery thingy. No plans for that? Also mouse? Just like a real house. ❤

Texas because it was easy. It was between Texas, Florida, & South Dakota. We like Texas. Yes, we have plans to buy a self jumping battery. And finally yes, stupid Mickey liked the taste of our wires.

For sure. You don’t need an RV to sign up. It does help to have a vehicle to register in TX. We registered our Jeep Gladiator.
