Love me some Chance ... something warm and comforting about his voice ! These guys are such unique talents ... together they are magic !
Another HF song you might want to check out, which features Chance, is 'Finally Free.' Doesn't get a lot of reactions but it's a fave. Light, nice tempo. The guys really did fill all the layers with this one. Velvety Chance, silky Rob, Adam (no surprise) drives it with his percussion, Tim (yes, he tends to steer or direct his melody sometimes) kept it grounded and Austin can bring a 'bell' (or brass instrument) quality that balances so nicely when paired with Rob. (They did similar in 'Mayday.')
You have a very melodious, 'smooth radio' voice which suits critiquing and describing songs.

Another great mashup by our guys. What a heartfelt feel good song. Love the lyrics & the catchy beat. All the solos were great & Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion really drive this song. Another winner by them.

Chance's voice puts me in mind of Smokey Robinson's (and I always loved Smokey's voice: "When Smokey sings/ I hear violins"). I've heard more people say that his voice really grows on them. Thanks for playing this one.

Chance's voice is great for story telling. You will notice that most of the songs where he takes the lead are story songs.

It's not easy, right away, to see Chance's part in HF's tremendous success, thanks to the lack of ego these guys display. But he not only has the voice and the range, but also directing, arranging and writing skills. For instance, you can see his artistry in the production of "Helplessly Hoping", and in his recent original dynamo "Skull and Bones." So, add him to the mix that is Home Free, and you end up with my favorite a cappella band. I am enjoying your reactions and comments -- thanks for sharing them.

I love this blending of songs. They keep the feeling of the original and yet make it their own. The way they put them together shouldn't work but it does seamlessly. I LOVE Home Free.

Outstanding Chance solos with Home Free: I Can't Outrun You and Cover Me Up. On his own channel: Wayfaring Stranger, If I Could Only Fly, Driver's License. All are unbelievably beautiful. You'll never be the same afterward.
He does Wayfaring Stranger with the Hound & the Fox, another pair you should add to your channel. They once helped Home Free with production of their videos and have now gone out on their own to put out music videos of their own. They have fabulous voices and harmonize beautifully together but when they add Chance ( Wayfaring Stranger, sound of Silence, A Whistling Lad, Hurt, Wellerman, and My Mother Told Me) or Tim (We Three Kings and the new song All the Pretty Little Horses) they are fabulous plus++

Even though it's just a few minutes of the beginning, it's OUTSTANDING and all of the Home Fries have been wishing they'd do a full release one of these days!! Talk about epic!! They absolutely slayed the bit they did. (They also released a couple other shorts the same day a couple years ago. "My Heart Will Go On" and "Don't Stop Believing"!) 🤪😂 After you watch the 3 shorts, look for the following full video after those! I can't tell you what it is or it'll ruin the surprise! Lol Just do it! I promise you'll love it! 👍

The capability of excellence by each of the individuals in this group is off the charts awesome that allows them the flexibility to do so many types of vocalizations and to do it exceptionally well. I have not found a genre they are afraid to tackle whether individually or as a group they are amazing. Then top that off with their arrangements that augment the presentation to be "Home Free" owned. ❣

You are going to have such a good time when you see them live. Tim is so funny and such a trip. Adam is my favorite and he did his drum solo live. They all inter act with the audience and make wise cracks with each other but they sing like angels even when they are being silly. I'm so jelly of you i would love to go again. Right now they are on an overseas tour, but I'll be watching for them when they get back to the states.

going back to re-listen is rarely a mistake. It is easy to overlook Chance, baritones don't generally get a lot of up front time, and when in harmony they don't have either the soaring highs or the stunning lows.

Austin, Rob, and Chance (imo) have the best harmonies. I love to listen to them and pick out each part. Then we have Tim, who also harmonizes well with Austin and Rob. And then we have Adam who keeps it altogether. This song could be the one to motivate me today!!

So glad I came across your page! Luv your reactions and I'm a home fry through and through. I have seen them live 6 times and will go every chance I get! So you will be seeing quite a bit as I check more of your stuff 🤗🤙
I believe the reason most take a bit to recognize Chance is partly because he's the newest member and a lot of the earlier videos are Chris Rupp (Adams brother). The other part is, after joining it took Chance a bit before he stepped up front, he was primarily doing background vocals.

Thanks for the feedback! I am in Utah. The nearest one at this point is in Colorado Springs which is a good 12 hours away. Denver would be 8 hours and Vegas 6ish. I'd travel for sure, but work puts on some limitations at times. I WILL get to a live show, no doubt about that :)
