Great reaction. Glad you're listening!
Thanks for loving the guys ... Home Free just never fails to surprise and delight all of us with their talent !
They are SO easy to love! :)
Tim's solo verse, like all his solos, shows off the perfect control he has over those low octaves -- not easy, but easy for Tim! I love everything about this one, the harmonies, the transitions, the drums (!), the video, the reactor, and .... the braids! Surely, Willie Nelson got a special shout-out with those pigtails.
You’ll Love the last one …”PLAYING WITH FIRE”…another original of Austin’s….it’s SMOKIN’ HOT…🔥🔥🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️
The baseball kids were a shout out to Babe Ruth, the greatest batter of all time. He always pointed out where he would hit the ball.
A great song with a hook written by Austin.
This is so very awesome! These guys are so very talented! Love your reaction!
Thank you so much!!
We can tell how much our 😍 guys 🌞 light up your heart. You're a Home Fry for sure. Aren't they just somethin!!
Absolutely! My heart is totally happy listening to their incredible talent. What a blessing they are! 😍
This is such a feel good song. I love these boys so talented.💗💗
The lyrics seem to me like a poke in the eye to all the radio programmers who don't and/or won't play Home Free. And a richly deserved poke in the eye. What are they thinking?
Thanks for the shoutout. I am enjoying your HF journey down the rabbit hole. This is an original written by Austin, braids like Willie Nelson (Always On My Mind). The baseball reference was probably Babe Ruth back in the day. We will remember his name too.
I also felt that the baseball was a reference to Babe Ruth. The pointing to where the ball was going to go is what did it for me.
Congrats! I truly enjoy your reactions.. Thanks for all you do! Stay safe!
Thanks, you too! :)
Such an awesome song..brovo Austin...
Adam Rupp should insure his tongue he was truly spitting the beats...
I agree on the recommendation
💥... Listen To The Music
The opening soaring notes..and the end..is Adam Rupp.. he's actually a soprano...
Great to see you Ginger Fry 🍟..😁...
🌿🌿🌿
Ginger Fry! I love that! My new name :)
@@ginger_snapz_369 🤣💚👍
🌿🌿🌿
Willie Nelson and his song Always on my mind.
Absolutely! Didn't catch it the first time around (on the reaction), but did after that. Thanks!
I think the baseball player is supposed to be Babe Ruth before he was well known. That seems to be the theme. I think the years mentioned with the singers were a few years before each one got really famous.
Love Home Free hope you go and check out Playing With Fire my favorite
I will! :)
Austin wrote this with Andrew Tufano. This is the last song from their So Long Dixie album. This particular album has 14 songs 12 of which are originals written by Tim or Austin with help from others. I enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. I agree with you about Adam, he is absolutely phenomenal.
If you enjoy Willie Nelson, Home Free does an amazing version of "Crazy" throwing back to Patsy Cline singing this wonder song Willie wrote. If you do it, pay attention to Adam's percussion. You swear you can hear the brushes slide across the drum skins. Beautifully done and the video is just as good as the song.
Look for Adam's drum solo.
During the lives, Adam Rupp almost always takes some time about mid show where everyone else leaves and Adam fills the time by himself doing what he does best. There are a few videos of his solo performances on UA-cam.
🤘🤠🤘
❤
They’re so good. They should be on the radio for sure. Love Tim’s lows. They’re so good at harmonizing. Try One Man Band, Die a Happy Man, What We Ain’t Got, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours. Enjoy!😍
Our "Fabulous Five" definitely deserve so much more exposure and fame! But we Home Fries appreciate that the guys continue to stay grounded and approachable even as their stars continue to rise❣️🎼🥰🎶❤
Wishing our Home Free fellas all the success and fame they desire 🤩
What another great original song! Love the nostalgic feel of this song & the video. They mention a few of the country greats in this song. Austin sings about Willie (Nelson) at one point. Think his braids are an homage to Willie. Love Tim's lower tone in the verse he sings. And Adam is awesome as usual. These guys are so talented & in a league by themselves.
Loving your channel, especially your format making the video the focal point.
Thank you so much for that feedback and support! I choose to have the music video large so people can actually see and appreciate it. I struggle with that some times myself with these old eyes. Lol
Why do you not think you are a Home Fry? Being a Home Fry is a state of mind.
😍💃💞
Home Free-"LISTEN TO THE MUSIC".. Adam Rupp goes the F$$K off on such a great cover! A MUST!
Love the reaction! Welcome to a NEW Home FRY!
peace
Hi Ginger! Thanks for another great reaction! Adam Rupp the beatboxer just went off on this one! What a great song by Austin and great video and vocals as always! It’s already on my playlist!
He’s referring to Willie Nelson, wearing “Willie” braids :)
The Willie reference was obviously Willie Nelson. Number 1, Austin's braids. Number 2, he sings "My name was Willie in '75... would you keep me always on your mind?" which points to Willie's big hit with "(You Were) Always on My Mind". 👍😉 I had that album and it was great! 🎶
Agreed!
I love the references to Luke Bryant, Garth Brooks and country songs. Austin's braids is a clever homage to Willie Nelson. I think the boys playing baseball reference Babe Ruth (even the scenes of the boys are sepia toned). The song, singing, harmonies & beatboxing, as always, are perfect - it's Home Free (they always are). Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Agreed
Hi Ginger. To begin, I think you surely earned the Home Fry title. Always enjoy your reactions, please continue! You mentioned seeing Home Free live, they have a live show video of Skull & Bones which they did for Ubisoft. If you watch it, be prepared to hear some extremely low notes from Tim and Chance!!
Yay, I am a Home Fry! That's very cool :)
New subscriber for more Home Free. The timing of this release corresponded to the Little League World Series Championship Game. Young boys playing ball in the video and young boys on the field, here in the US, making a 'name' for themselves. You've jumped down the HF rabbithole with both feet. Love seeing a new fan really embrace these guys. Only been a handful of reactions and you're familiarizing yourself with their names, what each contributes and have offered very insightful observations as to how amazingly talented these guys are. Now you have just a few hundred more of their videos to check out....all in good time. 😊
Thank you! My list from viewer suggestions alone is now at 68. Lol!
Hi Ginger. Congratz on 500 subs! The baseball video is meant to represent a young Babe Ruth, before you knew his name! Yes, it is a Willy Nelson reference, it mentions his hit song " Always On My Mind" from 1975.
woo hoo look at you grow!! well done! they can all beatbox. check out 9 to 5 live (not the official video). they all beatbox in that. keep it up!!!
Thank you, friend! :)
The baseball is im sure a reference to Babe Ruth. He just the one that used to point to where he was going to hit the ball
That's right! I totally forgot about that.
Ginger, my dear....Home Fries are extremely loyal and dedicated. (Tim calls us "rabid") The more you go down the Home Free rabbit hole, the more subscribers you will get. Works every time. Good reaction, and good luck with your channel.
Thank you so much, Karin!
Ginger, I’ve been really digging your reactions! Hey, I think that they were referring to Willie Nelson, hence Austin’s pigtails!!
Thank you! And yes, I agree about Willie :)
Great reaction. I love baseball too. I see you are almost 2.5 subs. Keep playing HF
Congratulations on 500 subs!! You deserve it! Loving your reactions! Adam is “Thee Human Drum Kit”! Enjoy what you are doing cause you got it!
Thank you!
Baseball was Babe Ruth
Adam has some good drum solos on UA-cam. Check them out sometime.
Hi Ginger! Since you are tuned into the various harmonies and musical details, I really do recommend that you listen to the boys' cover of the old CSN song, "Helplessly Hoping" ua-cam.com/video/kQt9jKDCqHo/v-deo.htmlsi=hHDH2W-RCcDMhmaP . The 5-part harmonies are incredible, nearly unbelievable.
I don’t think the video is a direct interpretation of the lyrics. It’s it’s own thing. Tying together the modern setting on a baseball diamond with the dreams of a young Austin who wanted to be a pro player or a singer.
Singer, pro baseball player or pro fisherman - Cited from Austin’s chat with Brad Steele.
Someone even suggested great baseball players like Babe Ruth and others who came from humble beginnings to have their name in lights and that we definitely remember their names til today

Definitely. It’s just the lyrics and video seem to be tied loosely, to me.
What I hear more of, in the subtext of the song, (pre video) is the inevitable question around their age, “I’ve been doing this for 20 years, now what?”.
Watching the kid point to where he's going to hit the ball makes me think it's a reference to Babe Ruth. @@donnaflynn9615
