I got into archery for small game, I’m excited to see what I can do once I get more accurate with my new 45 (was pretty good with my 25 lb, but couldn’t group at anything past 20 yards)

357 mag brass with a little weight in it works great at great price, usually free with a trip to the range. Glue them or use a nail or punch to put a dimple

Seeing those arrows being shot against a boulder made me wince. Here in the U.K aluminium arrows go from $7 - $25 each, and carbon fibre arrows can be up to $60 each

Hey there's something special about primitive archery that I just love a lot you get more satisfaction using a longbow or recurve bow over a compound bow

I've tried recurve, longbow, and a bit of compound. And I gotta say, I like my longbow the best. Even if you like the modern accessories of the compound bow, there are modern longbows that allow you to attach whatever you want on them. And even without that, there are many ways of attaching stuff onto a tradbow.
The process of drawing and shooting the arrow is just so much more satisfying on a longbow.

You can buy all of these on Alibaba or AliExpress. That’s most likely where 3Rivers gets them. The small game points are 58¢/piece and I like them a lot. Haven’t had a single one break on me. They have a lot of good broad heads too.

I've taken a weighed section of wire coat hanger and wrapped it tightly around the shaft of a glue on judo point to customize its weight. A small amount of jb weld prevented noise in my quiver. Held up well.

.357 mag case can be poured with a few drops of melted lead to get it to whatever weight you want. It makes a nice tough blunt that will perform as well as those points at a much nicer price point. If you want it to stop the arrow, get a couple of 4 penny finish nails and drill the tip. Push them through, clip them to the desired length and bend it so that it won't come out. Done. Really like your work. Well done.

What a blast, stump shooting. Point well taken about the hex head. I just called them blunts. They will go through brush better than anything, but have you ever seen a rabbit shot in the head by one of those things covered over by a rubber blunt. It will simply crush bugs bunny's widdle head. 38 or 357 casings work pretty well.

Just a thought (since this is like 4 years later ) in the world of air rifle , we have a measurement of foot pound of energy , I wonder if these can have such a reading .
Only thing I can think of to determine how powerful these things can be is using ballistic gel

Great video. I know I'm 4 years late on my comment but regarding the judo's, they make decent stumpers but can get stuck to where I've had to cut them out with a knife. Also i once placed a bad shot on a grey squirrel with a judo. It hung up in his hide and away he went arrow an all. Never found either one. So I quit using Judo's for small game.
