- November 27, 1988 - At a Bicentennial dance and dinner on Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne, Australia. Prince Charles and Diana danced to the tune of 'In the Mood' played by the Australian showband. Diana wore a full baby pink strapless taffeta dress decorated with blue flowers.
Came here after watching the scene on The Crown! Do have to admit it looked smoother on tv, but still lovely!

She's actually trying to dance and put some resistance in this one, he just keeps just pushing and pulling her around.
Charles was not the best but he certainly was not the worst dancer either. Diana was very very tall -

You don't know what you are talking about. They are JIVING. To do it effectively, then the two people act as counterweights, balancing each other, They throw each other outward and then pyull in together again. That is how it is done.
There is just ONE PROBLEM. Diana is wearing a long tight skirt which is totally unsuited to THIS type of dancing. It means that both she and Charles are taking very small steps, and doing a lot of spinning on the spot. If she was wearing a full skirt, they would be putting on a much better show.

Your comment is wishful thinking. At this date, 1988, they were in Australia to mark the Bicentenary of the founding of Sydney and European settlement in Australia.
What they are doing here is putting on a very GOOD SHOW. They are simply collaborating because in fact they were unofficially separated and had not shared a bed for four years.
Dina, at this date, had had at least four lovers, brokn up the marriages of two of her employees, and was in the middle of a five-year relationship with James Hewitt.
Charles had spent 1984 and 1985 in deep depression, and then returned to Camilla, having been faithful to Diana for the first five years of the marriage.
Diana, here, indicates her amazing ability to be utterly charming. She looks totally gorgeous, she is a stunning dancer, and no doubt, by the end of the dance, every man in the room was in love with her.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Charles cheated on Diana within the first five or six years of the marriage, either with Camilla or anyone else.
Pople have made this accusation over and over, based on the fact that Diana said "There was always three in the marriage."
This was a very cunning implication of Diana's, made in the 1995 interview with Martin Bashir.
Bashir had already, early in the interview, stated the date 1986 as the year Charles had got back together with Camilla. Diana DID NOT correct him over this date. She simply made an implication, much later in the interview.
In fact, living with a person who suffers fron jealousy, suspicion, paranoia and an eating disorder IS very much like having a third party, ever present, in the marriage.
The person who suffers from these things an can turn into a raging, sulking, blackmailing, threatening and accusing person, whenever these feelings are proked... and this can be quite unpredictable. The mental illness sits in the room, like a monster, the whole time.

Charles was a fool to let her go, but then, we can never know what it was really like in their relationship, just like you can never really see what really going on in any relationship, not really, even if they are a couple that is in your immediate family. Sad, yes, that they did not make it as a married couple, but then again, we were not involved in their personal life, so we can never know what went wrong. They did have 2 beautiful children together, and those boys are two treasures for society, both are loving and carrying people. God bless them both.
