I love seeing it snow in your videos! You are so brave tackling that freezer! Wow, that sunset! Thanks for taking me along to Costco. I'm really considering getting a membership, but its almost an hour away. Looks like ya'll really stocked up!
I kept putting off the freezer, that's what I get for procrastinating, lol. After having the Costco here and knowing what they sell, I would definitely get a membership, even if I were an hour away. Honestly, Anchorage is over 300 miles away and I had a membership before they came to Fairbanks.
First time watcher here. I live way down in Deep South Texas where at 8:32 p.m. CST it’s 72 degrees Fahrenheit. We have 4 seasons which are mild, warm, warmer, and OMG ITS HOT!!!! This past summer one day when I got in my car to turn it on it was 120 degrees in my car!!!!!! Thank you, Jesus for a fantastic AC! 🙂❤️
Well Howdy to you! I have experienced 105 in Las Vegas, no thank you, I melt at 80! 72 outside in the dark sounds wonderful though. By the time it starts to get dark here at night, we are preparing for snow! Thanks for popping in, hope you stay ❤
Hey! This popped up, so I thought I'd hit play!😁 Good idea to keep a list of freezer items. It is my goal to go through my refrigerator and deep freezers asap and get them cleaned out, organized, use what's almost old, and restocked. Gloves are a great idea! Looked like you had a Big job! 🥵
It was a big job! I planned on getting back to the list a couple of months ago when I bought that extra freezer, but the freezer comes with a project, we are setting up a pantry room, where the new freezer will go. It's always something. 😝
Thanks for sharing. We use to have an upright freezer like yours years ago. It lasted for years and when it came time to defrost I would put a box fan on a chair and let it hit the frost, worked really well. Didn’t blow hot air like a hair dryer but I didn’t have to stand and hold it either. I’m such a snoop and love to see what other people get. Take care and look forward to your next video. From Colorado
I should have used a fan with the hot pans, maybe it would have went faster. I love to watch the hauls too, especially the ones from around the world, crazy how Americanized some countries are. Thanks for watching :)
Hi Sherry...if you still have that same freezer...get you some cheap plastic baskets to keep frozen fruit and veggies in and meats etc. So your freezer will stay organized. Oh be careful cause I was using a tool to help break up ice in my freezer and ended up damaging it and had to buy a new one.
Hello, hello... We do and I will be defrosting it again soon. I had a few baskets in there, it will just be for boxes of things soon, we have purchased a smaller freezer for inside the house. 😉

We live in Hawaii and it is so different to see how Alaska functions. I will say our prices are very similar for groceries. Beautiful places to live come with an price tag.
We have been trying to take vacation in Hawaii for years, like all Alaskans do, haha. one of these days we will make it. I actually know a few Alaskans that have retired there. We are much like Hawaii now, things have to be special shipped through Canada, so most of our stuff comes up on Barges, since Covid.
I love seeing the Japan Costco shopping!!! 💖We see they have a lot of the same things and a lot of the things at our Japanese/Asian specialty stores here in Fairbanks, only bulk size! We had planned on a Japan Disney trip next year, but now that will have to wait a couple of years.

Hello and welcome to the Bear Family, lol. Yeah, my issue was I wanted to do it in the summer when the heat would have helped but did it when it was very cold in the garage. It got done though 😉👍
After getting all the ice out, dry the surfaces and before turning the freezer on wipe surfaces where the ice forms with glycerine. Next time if won't take very long as the ice can be removed in big chunks. While my freezer is not as big as yours I am done in about 10 minutes.

Wow, tell them we have not had real ak winter in 7 years! It is tropical ak now. When I first came up we would have 80 below and weeks and weeks of 60 below.

My small freezer went out a few months ago... I haven’t replaced it...so my refrigerator freezer is really packed. Your lipstick color is a pretty shade
My favorite lipstick, it almost gone and they don't make it anymore 😭 We were supposed to empty that freezer by last month. I had a side of beef coming, but we have to cancel. They didn't have enough for all of the orders anyway. I still have to update my list, then I can meal plan better and get the mess under control.
I'm delighted I found your channel. This is the first video I've watched, and I can't wait to see more. :) You're so beautiful. Your laugh makes me smile, you sound just like my aunt.
Oooo, Maine is on my bucket list, I have never been. One day... Hmmm, I thought you may be more expensive there too, most northern states are not cheap. I really didn't have too much sticker shock coming from Detroit, although I had produce anxiety, I love fresh produce, 15 years ago you couldn't get much 7 months out of the year.
How ironic that I found this video I will need to defrost my freezer real soon The first task was just to clear all my artwork and photos off the front of the whole refrigerator lol
Thats a big haul! Wow! It amazed me how different things are up there, from down here in NC. New Friend Here, Glad to have seen you in my suggested channels 😉 Take Care! God Bless!
I saw your freezer and almost fell out of my chair. I can see how you organize but wow! I hope none of your food spoils while you defrost it. I clean my fridge out once every 6 months. Don't feel bad about your Cosco bill; I always go to the store and think i'm only going to get a few things and end up getting more than I thought I would. Keeping organized can be a bit of a challenge.

Hey hun I'm new here and really enjoyed your shop with me and haul, y'all's prices unfortunately are higher than ours here in Alabama, much love hun ❤️

Hello from Fairbanks, thanks so much for watching, all the Happy Holidays to you too ❤ we had a few more things to get, so we will have a short shopping video tomorrow too, lol 😆
I've noticed on a few videos from people living in Alaska that you all buy a lot of paper plates. I find this very strange. Why do you need so many paper plates? We however never buy them unless we need them for easy clean up after a large BBQ or party. Do you have a lot of parties or do you not have and use normal crockery?
A lot of people have well water that is very heavy in iron and turns everything brown. They don't like to wash their dishes in it. Paper plates in bulk like that last us a very long time, we buy them mostly because we eat on the run. We make food in the microwave and eat it on the way to work or at work. In the car usually. Also for camping trips, fishing trips, summer is 24/7 sun here, go, go, go 😍
I thought the prices were going to be much higher in Alaska the prices on canned goods are about a $1 higher than it is here in Tennessee. I have always heard that it was so expensive there.
We love having Costco here, it is much cheaper than the regular stores, I think they try to keep their prices pretty close to the same at all of their stores.
Hello 👋 I just found your channel :) I love you guys !!! Very entertaining.... so I have a question - what type of camera do you use for your vlogging? I too am looking to start doing this -in the lower 48 :) Middle tenn to be exact . Thank you for any helpful info from a new subscriber !!! ❤️
Yep we are right in town, North Pole is 20 miles away. Ha, if it were 20 below I could have left the food outside and just let the freezer thaw naturally 😉
You do not have to put make up on for us!! We don't care. Lol. Also, I might have missed it somewhere, but what do the girls do for work? You're a massage therapist?? Am I wrong? Thank you for all of your videos!! I love them!
it looks like you dont need anything where would it go ?/but in alska what do you do is it colder than us like nebraska i dont know how it is to live there more pricy??
We only bought a couple of things for the freezer, mostly our daily things needed to be restocked. It is expensive to live here, groceries have actually come down in price quite a bit over the last several years. We are back to below zero Temps again too.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs thats very nice thankyou for respondinding back and does it get really cold and what things do you do if youre bored and i heard it gets dark soon or all day and the northern lights have you seen them
Hahaha, I was tempted, it was given to me, it's very old. I think a new one will be my next major purchase. I think most Costco prices are pretty consistent around the world, pretty cool. Thanks for joining in on the fun!

There is a whole lot more space now, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to get to it, otherwise I would have waited until it was empty and 80 degrees outside 😉
Can I ask why you all in America buy paper plate. Why dont you use proper plates. Please dont take offence. We use dinner service in the uk and we use paper plates when we have bbq
I really don't like the waste, we never did use them until my daughter started college. Lots of dishes and no one was doing them, they just became convenient, it's a bad habit. Now that we are portioning, we are back to regular dishes.
@@OvcharkaShepherd Its a draft idea. What you save on dish soap & water you're wasting on paper. Plus its bad for the planet. From cutting down trees to producing so much waste. Have prepped all my life & think I have only used paper plates twice. Not something we do in Ireland, tend to have more respect for the environment & our wallet.
@@carolineann5518 Ya its daft Can you imagine all that needless waste going to landfill. There's other ways to save on time & water. Hope you & yours are safe & well.
I don’t wear make up. My day starts at 1pm as well. It don’t affect my studies tho. We bought frost free freezers purposely to advoid that job. I often put my food away that can be left out at midnight. Early sunset. We buy coffee syrups by the case. We use a lot. Ben sniffs my food shopping wen I get bk. bens dogs toys are smaller but he’s a yorkie.
It's a very old freezer that was given to me. Although I don't like the frost free, they seem to take the moisture out of the food too, we don't rotate our food fast enough.
We are used to stocking up, when we first moved here, the stores didn't have a whole lot in the winter especially. Then we can be easily "cut off", all of our freight comes up from Anchorage over 300 miles away. At the beginning of Covid, the barges were docked and our shelves were very bare here. There are many reasons, earthquakes, avalanches, it still happens often.

Also for camping trips, fishing trips, summer is 24/7 sun here, go, go, go 😍
I used to use a blow dryer
Awesome I just subbed
Awesome thank you! Welcome to the Alaskan Bears Family 😍
Hello from Anchorage!
👋 Hello
Hello 👋 I just found your channel :) I love you guys !!! Very entertaining.... so I have a question - what type of camera do you use for your vlogging? I too am looking to start doing this -in the lower 48 :) Middle tenn to be exact . Thank you for any helpful info from a new subscriber !!! ❤️
Thank you ❤ we have been looking at equipment but just use my phone. It's a Samsung S20. Good luck, I love Tennessee 😍
I watch Somers in Alaska ..how close are u to North Pole? N yeah I would have waited till it was cooler... Lol. Went to ur bio see ur in Fairbanks
Yep we are right in town, North Pole is 20 miles away. Ha, if it were 20 below I could have left the food outside and just let the freezer thaw naturally 😉
I’m curious, why so many paper plates? Do you prefer them to “real” plates?
It's just quick, a lot of times we run out the door with our food. Honestly they will last us for months, but the plates are something we can store.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs that makes sense!
Hello beautiful Ladies. Great video. I Love Costco. 💖💖💖
It's new to us, it replaced our Sam's Club, I like it so much better.
Light weights. $1,200 Costco run for us for our Anchorage Costco run last week.
🤣 wow, I hadn't worked in 7 months, mortgage had to come first. We shouldn't eat so much anyway 😝
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs that makes it difficult. Thanks for the vlog all the best getting through these times.
great food haul!
Thanks, glad we went, phew, just in time.
It been could in California at night nice during the day in low 40s high 59
That actually sounds nice, I heard the fires are finally under control, I hope they are out completely soon. 💖
You do not have to put make up on for us!! We don't care. Lol. Also, I might have missed it somewhere, but what do the girls do for work? You're a massage therapist?? Am I wrong? Thank you for all of your videos!! I love them!
Aww, thank you. I am a medical massage therapist yes, I work for a chiropractor. Heather works at a local resort and Mary works at a shipping company.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs Thank you so much for answering my question. I do appreciate it. Have a great rest of your day!!!😁
Worth every penny for a self defrosting freezer!!!!!!
Right!?! We can only afford one purchase a year 😜
O wow huge grocery haul 😃 good for 1month? Hi i like ur video 👍🏻
Thank you, it will actually last a few months, we stock up.
Set a fan blowing into the freezer and it will defrost itself.
Good idea
Would you consider a chest freezer?
I would have to make room, I like the uprights, they take less floor space 😉
Hi ladies. Where are you (city)? First time watching. 👍🏼 Stay warm. ❄️
We are in Fairbanks, Alaska just below the Arctic Circle, Thanks for watching, we will try to stay warm. 😊
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs Thank you for your reply. I’m in Anchorage and I was just at Costco yesterday. 😃
@@belindan4974 hey neighbor, haha
hello from huntington wv. we do not have costco here, nest to where i live in ohio is sams club. it is like costco.
sorry I missed you, I try to answer everyone right away, we were having modem problems. Hello from Fairbanks, Alaska👋
You don’t need to go shopping, you just need to eat out your freezer for a month.
I know! That's why I need to get my freezer list under control. I almost had it empty over the summer, ugh, LOL... Soups, lots of soups.
Wow crazy your fruit is more expensive then a jumper/sweater as you call it.
Yeah, produce really jumps in price here in the winter. A lot is not even shipped, did you see how bare the refrigerated produce section was?
The hoodie said 11.99 and on the receipt you paid 14.99??
Good eye! I thought itvwas cheaper, you always have to watch the prices on the clothes, sheesh. I guess I have to go back and complain.
There is -3.00 below the 14.99
I can't believe how few shoppers were at Costco.
I go at off times on purpose, usually about a half hour before they close on a weeknight.
Should have used a hair dryer works like magic
Maybe next time, LOL.
That's a big haul.
Big for us, yes, it should last us a while 😉
Kentucky watcher👋🙏😍
Welcome! I love Kentucky ❤👋
it looks like you dont need anything where would it go ?/but in alska what do you do is it colder than us like nebraska i dont know how it is to live there more pricy??
We only bought a couple of things for the freezer, mostly our daily things needed to be restocked. It is expensive to live here, groceries have actually come down in price quite a bit over the last several years. We are back to below zero Temps again too.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs thankyou i liked watching you and yr girls what is yr daughter majoring in school can i ask??
@@dmdohse55 BBA, Business Management with an Accounting minor
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs thats very nice thankyou for respondinding back and does it get really cold and what things do you do if youre bored and i heard it gets dark soon or all day and the northern lights have you seen them
Gorgeous Hair
Awww, how sweet, thank you
I would have taken that fridge to the dump frost free or nothing,in nfld the prices r much the same
Hahaha, I was tempted, it was given to me, it's very old. I think a new one will be my next major purchase. I think most Costco prices are pretty consistent around the world, pretty cool. Thanks for joining in on the fun!
You are pretty as well as your daughters
Awww, thank you 🥰
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs new subscriber from Davao city, Philippines
@@judithviscayno9338 welcome to our channel! One of these days I will visit the Philippines with friends, when they go back to see family. I hear it is very hot 🔥 lol.
No not so much the hottest is 35 degrees Celsius on summer time, two weather rainy days and summertime hmm we have Baguio city ,all year round is cold there ,even summer . Wish I could meet you too , just wishing, we have a lots of beaches here, need to see Palawan, boracay and samal .and a lot more. Lots of tropical fruit too. We have S & R here looks like Costco too. Looking forward on seeing you lol(wishing)

Isolate everything from your voice check out boya mics lightning for iPhone or USB c for galaxy
@@propertydigital thanks
That freezer is a mess. How do you find anything?
That's why it needed cleaning and a list was in order ;)
I use my blow dryer
Use a hair dryer to melt the ice
Got it! It'll be clean for another 2 years now 😜
Freezer will not be working properly jam packed
There is a whole lot more space now, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to get to it, otherwise I would have waited until it was empty and 80 degrees outside 😉
Alaska food is so expensive than. Here in United States
Our Salmon is free, LOL, gotta get a license and fish for it though. It has gotten a lot cheaper over the years, 15 years ago a gallon of milk was $5.
You know Alaska is in the United States. It is a lot cheaper on the mainland.
Use a hairdryer on the freezer next time
I thought about it, it had so much ice, it created a lot of water, I am sure I would have been electrocuted 🤪
Buying a lot of fast food.
Yeah, busy, busy 😉
Wait what? No tax? 🤔🤔
No state taxes at all, some cities have tax, so far Fairbanks has no tax on purchases.
ahh I hate paper plates
We are getting much better about not using them. Costco altogether creates a lot of trash. So much packaging 📦😥
Thought is to save water and detergent. It’s a prepper thing.
@@lynnettemurphy8243 that’s true. Same here in England
@@carolineann5518 Ya its daft Can you imagine all that needless waste going to landfill. There's other ways to save on time & water. Hope you & yours are safe & well.
🖒🖒
I don’t wear make up. My day starts at 1pm as well. It don’t affect my studies tho. We bought frost free freezers purposely to advoid that job. I often put my food away that can be left out at midnight. Early sunset. We buy coffee syrups by the case. We use a lot. Ben sniffs my food shopping wen I get bk. bens dogs toys are smaller but he’s a yorkie.
It's a very old freezer that was given to me. Although I don't like the frost free, they seem to take the moisture out of the food too, we don't rotate our food fast enough.
@@AlaskanBearsVlogs we go thru our food quickly. There is a lot of us in our house.
You'll save money if you didn't buy crappy drinks.
I don't drink them, water or tea for me. They are a much better alternative to my fizzy addicted daughter though, that fizzy stuff will kill you.
The car phone put you over
Haha, yeah and a couple of other things that weren't on my list.
I don't think you NEED any more food. That was a lot of food.
