Okay, so . . . my two cents. Grins! Love listening!!! Can't tell you how terrific it is to listen to something fun, across most any topic, without being filled with bad language or inappropriate discussions. You keep things at a higher level, and that's just high class!! You are all fun!! I have to address Nate individually since it's his show. We appreciate so much your pureness and respect for the family and children. I can't help but feel your efforts contribute to keeping our society better, helping us to go a little longer without giving over to whole digression. You may not have every other degree from any science you can get (as some boast) but you're so real and principles spot on and that is priceless. In a time where we struggle with total digression, I wholeheartedly believe it is key to your rise! Keep up the good work! Prayers for you and your staff and family!!! Thx soooo much, finally something to listen to, laugh with, not cringe or gag! WE APPRECIATE YOU!

Hey folks. Please tell Aaron - Godzilla, King of the monsters - was a great Godzilla movie. 2019.
I enjoy listening to you guys sit around the table and talk. You bring laughter back into my home since my husband and son passed. I didn’t know anything about Nate until the Amazon premiere and I am now a fan. I also enjoy Dusty, he cracks me up. I love that Aaron starts laughing and pushes back from the table to get his composure back. 🤣😂🤣 Finally, I think it is wonderful that Brian is at the head of the table! Thanks guys!

My dad owns a video store in Tucson, Arizona called Casa Video. He started it 40 years ago and still gives out free popcorn while you shop. Now they’ve got a bar attached so you can drink a local beer and watch a movie. Definitely stop in when you come to Phoenix for your comedy tour next year and tell them you know the owners daughter!

The company I think did a complete 180 is Champion. I remember when Champion was dirt cheap. There is an episode of Seinfeld where the guy who shaved his head got depressed due to actual baldness. He had on a Champion shirt to show he gave up on life. Now, Nate ends SNL in a Champion hoodie with 37138 on it. Complete 180.

One of our wedding gifts in 2009 was a netflix subscription, which included a 3-dvd subscription plus the streaming, which had next to nothing on it. We binged series like The Wire or The Office by watching three dvds of episodes then waiting 3-5 days for the next sequence would be sent 😂

When I saw the topic of “180s,” I assumed that it was going to be an entire episode highlighting when Nate adamantly argued one side of an argument only to later pull a 180 and just as adamantly argue the other side. I’m still confident that it’s happened enough to make an entire episode out of it. 😂😂😂

Talk about a 180! This episode took a complete turn and mostly discussed movies! From Godzilla, to Redbox/movie rentals, to the Dark Knight and Winona Ryder! What happened to the parentheses that list the true topic? This episode should be titled 180 (movies)! Speaking of would love to see a Movies episode! I know you did sports and horror movies already, but a general movie facts or a movie bracket battle (a la animal fights)!

I was also impressed with Aaron knowing that Nebraska football defense was and still is known as the Blackshirts. A little education... the term actually only refers to the starting defensive players. The tradition started back in the 60s when head coach Bob Devaney needed to buy practice jerseys for the recently divided "platoons" (offense and defense) and the sporting goods store that was visited by the man in charge of equipment gave him a deal on black because they weren't selling well. He brought them back and the starters on defense were given the black shirts and the lower tier defensive players received gray. He thought that distinguishing the two tiers would motivate the lower tiers and the tradition was born. It's still a major part of Nebraska football and makes grown men cry when earning their black shirt to this day.

In our town we had an independent video rental store called "Movie Place". It closed 15 years ago, but it made the news in 2021. A woman was trying to change her name on her driver's license after getting married and found out she had an outstanding felony embezzlement charge because of a "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" video that was rented at that store in 1999 (apparently by her then-boyfriend) and never returned. (The case was dismissed and the charges expunged.)

Funny, I worked for UPS in college and remember the crazy videos that left me with the impression that there was really no competition between UPS & FedEx. Maybe what Nate remembers is that UPS was the pioneer being a company that's 100+ years old. Whereas FedEx is barely 50 years old so 20 years ago, FedEx would've only been around for 30 years and market conditions would have been way different & to the benefit of UPS. It goes to show how impactful technology, specifically the Internet, has been as a force multiplier in making the marketplace more competitive.

I'm fascinated with the inner-workings of the minds of comedians since I don't think that way. You guys are the best. I've had a theory for a long time that in order to be a good comedian, you have to be intelligent (not necessarily talking about schooling) and insightful, and you all are! Thanks for being a bright spot in my week. Brian, here are a couple of episode ideas: Cartoons (if you haven't done that yet) and exploring what was going on in the world for each of your birth years.

I’ve been obsessed with the show Taskmaster lately (a British show where five comedians compete against each other in ridiculous tasks and then get judged on how well they did and often argue with each other about who did it better). Listening to you guys debate over who can swim the fastest makes me desperate to see you guys do a show like that. I think Nateland should produce an American version of the show just so I could see this become a reality.

The most impressed I’ve been with the collective seating of a plane was on a quick business trip from Nashville to Chicago and back on Southwest. Pretty much everyone who went there was also on the plane on the way back. First flight out, mostly business passengers, mostly precheck, quick loading, and I swear everyone sat in the exact same seat for both trips. I’ll never forget how efficient it felt.

This summer I started taking my kids (ages 7 & 5) to Redbox in an attempt to recreate my memory as a kid going to Blockbuster. We have all the streaming services, but announcing we would be going to Redbox to have a movie night creates much more excitement. The big release for us this summer was when the Super Mario Bros movie hit Redbox. They love scrolling through the movie options at the box and getting the often rewarded "free rental offer" when you go to check out so they can pick another movie. Coupling this with some pizza, popcorn, and no other distractions seems to hit the spot for everyone in the family.

Since the late 90s, ILG has had 5 commercial airlines attempt to provide service to DE, with Avelo being the most recent. Between not being advertised enough, and being in close proximity to PHL and BWI, it's been difficult for these airlines to get enough business to stick around. Time will tell if Avelo stays or not, but I don't get my hopes up anymore.

I just wanted to say thank you for the smiles and gut laughs. The last few years have been extra hard with multiple knee injuries (I broke my kneecap when I tripped in a sheet on the floor and tried to put it back on track/in socket by myself--the pain was so bad that I blacked out for a couple seconds (I thought that if I could put it back on track/in socket I could go milk the cows without being too late). I kept working 3 jobs and going to university bc I didnt want to fall behind in pre-med. (I finished with blood running down my iv catheter in my arm and the needle stabbing my vein so hard I was in tears halfway through my final exam. I didn't take time to heal...(I have pushed hard my whole life in school etc., I grew up Mennonite and my dad didnt let me go to a real school so when I turned 18 I went to college and walked into a tech school with a 3rd grade education--full load first semester, worked my way up through all the low level classes to advanced ones & then transferred to The Ohio State University and continued up through Pre-Med and even tutored pre-med while achieving scholarships) Anyway, The result of not slowing down and letting my knee heal was was having to do my own IV antibiotics 2xs a day for 8 months and 2 additional oral antibiotics for over 2 years (this was after being misdiagnosed for over 8 months and being taken on and off oral antibiotics until my system built up a resistance to them). My muscles became atrophied and I had to beild up muscles and learn how to walk again. --Only to have all my work be lost when when my kneecap would dislocate again (once during physical therapy). Turns put my bones are deformed. Once the drs left my knee dislocated for 9 months. I still was dragging myself through the house, then down the sidewalk, then the road--finally an old airforce dr put it back in socket and said nobody did it bc they were afraid that if infection was there still it would go septic. I did so many knee exercises and walked so much at one point try to get my life back that I ended up getting compartmental syndrome in the front of my leg. Turns out the muscles in the front were building up, but I still couldn't hardly lift my leg out in front of me. The physical therapist told me that I had to cut back on exercises, that even body builders didn't push as hard as I was pushing. Long story short, I'm not in medical school yet, my knee is injured again and I have to build up muscles again. I live second to second not knowing what will happen. I love walking, it is my favoritething in tge world to do--however I never know if tge next step will be the one that benches me for another 6 to 9 months . I lost 100 pounds while doing nothing but sitting in one spot on the couch with my knee dislocated for 6 months (2 scoops of protein powder and 1 cup of veggies 6 days a week), then was diagnosed with cancer and knee reinjured--gained weight back and have to start everything all over again with everything. But, I did make a couple contacts online and started my own school and teach kids around the world. I also had an opportunity to work with an Elon Musk based project online--so I'm still put here trying. ALL THIS TO SAY, THAT YOU 4 GUYS MAKE ME HAVE SOME LIGHT HEARTED HAPPY MOMENTS AND I AM SO GLAD I FOUND YOU (I think maybe 1 year ago🤔). I really enjoy when y'all talk college & read comments. I appreciate the clean humor. I would love to hear some more about college days & more from Dusty and his wilderness life/maybe some religious views from him and Nate too. I love how simplistic Nate is and how he embraces it, it is so down to earth/relatable/funny. I also love hearing Nate read the comments, & would love to hear more about his work before comedy (I think there are probably some really good stories in there from his days at restaurants etc.😅).
Again, all this to say thank you. I just wanted to give you guys an idea of how much what you are doing has impacted my life. If it has impacted me, it has impacted many others. So, through all of my awful health struggles (some mentioned some not), thank you for being there each week to make me smile and laugh. You guys are the best👍💞
Note: I hadn't intended this to be this long or all this here, but it won't let me cut it and paste it for some reason (I wanted to switch it to a dm somewhere). I would just ask that people please don't make any negative comments. Thanks👍

Like Breakfast, I worked at a video store in college in the very early 90s. The owner of the video store, when laser discs came out, thought that was going to be the next craze. @@SourceSigorb by that logic, as long as he has success then he can act like a spoiled brat no matter what. I mean let’s be honest his family’s legacy is the reason he acted like that anyways. There’s no shame in who Phil is and what he does. You make him sound like a big failure.

Finding Forrester was not set right after WWII. The book Sean Connery's character wrote was set then. When the movie came the setting was contemporaneous (2000). The school the main character ended up going to was a very expensive private school. Very good movie.

    Aaron: "we produce electricity. "
    Nate (confidently): "Static."
    All laugh
I think Aaron was referring to the electric impulses created in our nerves when the brain sends signals to the body.

If im drinking a cheap beer, Pabst is definitely the way to go! Nice flavor, 4.7 percent alcohol can compare to light beer, but its full bodied. I prefer a nice dark beer like Guinness, but a miller lite is alright occasionally. I guess its all an opinion, depending on your taste and pallet.

I’m coming in late but my brother in law taught me a trick that if audience and critic score is >80% then it’s probably a great movie. At least enough to give it a try.

Imagine growing up in Nebraska a few minutes from Memorial Stadium in the 90’s we still love our team and just the downtown area of Lincoln becomes the third largest city in Nebraska behind Lincoln and Omaha. Our girls in volleyball make it easier to wear our husker gear with pride even when our football boys lose.

One of the best 180s in sports history is the 1994-95 Rockets Championship team. Still to date, they were the lowest seeded team to win an NBA title. Also, true story, my sister’s husband’s sister is married to Hakeem Olajuwon. Never met him but it’s something fun to say in conversation when I‘ve run out of things to talk about. The usual response is “Who’s Hakeem Olajuwon?” 😂

Listening to the ‘sode while working out today and in the middle of rope climbs Breakfast starts talking about how to spell Johnnie W’s last name (double u) I fell 10 feet down the rope, laid on the ground, and just laughed for several minutes before trying to go again. Note to self, no heavy weights or rope climbs while listening to the pod. 😂

Regarding OTHER comics taking credit for giving a fellow comic a 'push' to continue a character is ridiculous. I totally agree with Nate that the comic DOING the character they originated it in the first place. It's like trying to take the credit when you hear a singer sing well and say 'hey you should be a singer!;. Duh... Additionally, Nate, you are very generous, on the podcast, to Brian, Aaron & Dusty - who are all funny in their own right. You share fairly!

Recovery Room in Charleston claimed to be #1 in PBR can sales. It doesn’t fit Dusty’s description of a “nice place,” but I was dragged there once and remember it being a shack under the I-26 bridge. Hipsters and PBR everywhere. They closed this year so I guess hipsters don’t tip well or PBR doesn’t sale?
