Someone I know purchased an as is car from someone, saying similar to what the defendant said to the buyer. The car is in good shape and i just put a lot of money into it buying new parts. The person purchasing was desperate and trusted the person selling the car. The person buying the car mistake was not getting someone to look at the car. First and second day was ok the 3rd day the car broke down and she went back to the seller and they wouldn't give her her money back or fix it. It was very saddening for that person the seller did just enough to the car to get it off their property.
While the defendant may or may not be scummy I don't know. But brakes, rotors, tires and engine mounts are VERY typical things that wear out for a higher mileage car. And I honestly think he could have looked at those first before he purchased and gotten an easy discount. I hate to say I agree with the verdict completely.

Fair judgement
