Love these "off brand" reviews. For my golf, I'll NEVER be paying over $100 for a single wedge. So seeing reviews from guys like you on clubs I can actually afford is great. Keep doing this please!!
I put a full set together recently for a little less than 500 USD, got all my wedges together from FB marketplace for $90. Just used Kirkland wedges, and they feel incredible, I've been enjoying them very much
Exactly, I had not touched a club in 15 years until I found a set of Calloway irons at a yard sale for $20. That took me to the range and then started looking for a driver, putter, and Sand or Lob wedge. I’ve come across these brands while looking on Amazon and am glad to see a decent review instead of the typical paid response.
Rick, you really need a “control” club alongside these videos. Take the same 5 full swings with a Vokey and see if they are going the distance you expect
@@outlander234 sure just upload a 30sec video and say the wedges are good, why even make the whole thing? 🤦🤦 Of course he should have a control club, you need a reference as to why a more expensive club is better or not
That was the first thing I looked for, lol. Can see it at 6:20, old chip swing for sure. His swing was more like his lesson after this though so I'm not sure.
Follow through on the bunker shots was exactly what the lesson told him to do, though. Almost putting the grip in his pocket. His follow through was also not at 0 like before, but nearer to 2.
Actually just recently got these wedges for myself. I’m a high handicap player and I knew about the finish in advance thanks to Matt Fryer! So I got the Crome finished set and I’ve been loving them. Might not cut it on tour, but around the local club they are nice!
I also have them, in black, and they play extremely nice in my book. The paint wears off but the little grooves don’t so it purely cosmetic. I’m about a 15 and see no reason to upgrade from these anytime soon!
@@theyogov2 playing off a 7 and can confirm, the clubs are impressive. Especially at the price point. Played mine for about a season and a half and they're still going strong. Even redid the entire bag over the winter. Wedges remained. No need to waste money on an upgrade I don't need.
Clean with dish soap and water. When dry, spray wd40 or gun oil on rag and oil them. Just don't dunk them in the water high enough to come up to the collar where the head meets the shaft. If that collar leaks, the club will rust from the inside out. This will make the cheap clubs last forever.
Hello Rick, I started playing Golf in February at a local club in Abuja, Nigeria. Have learnt a lot from you. I followed your reviews and got the Cobra fly XL irons with the Speedzone Xtreme Driver. Really happy I did. I am improving. Cheers
Just get these in silver and they will look like new after a clean. They have been great for me for about a year now. I can hit the green more consistently with loads of spin. I can't always control the distance but I think that comes down to user error. Great video mate!
I have been using this Wedge set for over a year now Rick, and I love them! I'm a high handicap avid golfer and these have absolutely helped to improve my short game! Happy to see you review them!
I've been golfing for about a year now and bought these wedges right from the start. I LOVE THEM! for the price, the feel, and the looks, you really cannot beat the value.
No offence… but coming from somebody that’s only been golfing for a year, this doesn’t get much merit. You’ve got a long way to go before understanding true feel and performance. Just saying.
Have had the rainbow finish wedge set for roughly 18 months now. I’ve played enough rounds with them that the colour is starting to fade but it looks very gradual than what the black set does, add to their charm in my bag. Interesting that you mentioned a lack of confidence in a full shot with them, as even though I’m relatively new to the game & a 20 or so handicapper I have never had confidence in a full shot, but anything 80% and down they feel amazing!
I've just orderd some but just the standard silver. I wanted the rainbow ones but was worried they would scratch and lose there colour. Have they held up?
@@Mrcaptainmorgan1989 they have faded mostly on the bounce of the club, it’s a very gradual dulling of the colours, more of a subtle loss I’d say. Over time any set of wedges are bound to show wear and tear, whats a little colour loss?

I have a new set of Clevelands this year, but I put 120 rounds on my black Lazrus set last year. For a high handicapper I would suggest going Kirkland. I'm a 16 handicap and have hit both. For our skill and inconsistencies they hit exactly the same and at least with Costco they have a generous return policy
I'm a Lazrus truther. I have the wedges, irons, and putter and love them. Especially considering the price point. Customer service is also great. My 5-iron snapped at the shaft on the first practice swing, contacted them, and the next day a new one was shipped. Good to see they performed reasonably well on the review.
I haven’t used these particular wedge but to give them some grace, I’ve used the Cleveland RTXs and vokey sm8s in black and the color on both came off very quickly. Lasted a bit longer on Vokey, but still not long. If that’s the biggest downside (and the shaft, but slower swing speeds would be less effected), seems like a great deal for some.
Based upon this review, as I gather up a new set of clubs after a 15 year hiatus, I can say “thanks Rick!” I’m so impressed with the quality and feel and consistency of these clubs. As of March 2024, I paid $118 delivered, which exchanges to approximately £94! After playing them I went back and picked up their 65° wedge for $50 (£39). Every bit as good. At my skill level I cannot justify $150 wedges. Lazrus really hit the nail on the head.
I’ve been playing these since last year and have been very happy with them. The black has scratched some but the wear has patterned nicely. I am a bad golfer but have really enjoyed them and feel much easier to hit then what came with my starter Strata set
I actually have these wedges in my bag. The 56 degree sand wedge has REALLY improved my short game from just off the green. I love them for what they are.
I have the Lazrus driver, all 3/5/7 wood and the 56 degree. I absolutely love them and I have been thoroughly impressed since purchasing them. I’m a relatively new golfer so I don’t have a ton of experience with other clubs but if you’re on a budget I can’t recommend them enough :)
I've gamed the silver set for over a year now. Playing off a 7 handicap. Just redid the bag over the winter, putting brand new clubs in, and the wedges were the only clubs to keep their spot. Biggest gripe would be the lack of grind/bounce options, but again, at this price point, they are actually phenomenal clubs and I'm glad to see them getting some love and recognition. If you're on the fence, they are worth the buy. I can vouch for that.
So glad you reviewed these! I've been going back and forth for a year on ordering these. I only started Golfing last year and get to the course and range maybe a total of 10 times a year. Thanks again for the great review!
Once again you get what you pay for….personally I wouldn’t but a club with the black finish I don’t care who makes it that finish is coming off eventually…👍🏼👍🏼
Look I am going to be honest with every average golfer wondering if they should get these. The answer is YES. I’m a 15 handicap. I started playing again recently and found the three wedges I had - a 52 Carbite, a 55 Wilson, and a 60 Vokey - were woefully old, shot grooves, and all had different feels. The Lazrus set of wedges are perfect for their price point and because they are a set, I value the consistent feel of them for now. As my game progresses, I will no doubt get fitted and start tweaking my bounce and grind for specific wedges. And hopefully, by that time these wedges will have had tremendous use in my bag. Great placeholder set for your average golfer, especially considering the price point. I am totally satisfied.
Just got back into golfing after a very long break (20 years 😅). I’m 36 and am so glad I’ve got back into it and I love the fact that I discovered your channel. My wife and I have become huge fans. Love the content Rick. Keep doing what you do. 😉😊
Agreed. Also with their awesome return policy this season I went and returned them at Costco and picked up a brand new fresh set. So fresh grooves for nothing.
I'm your average bad golfer but I love to play. I have had these wedges going on 2 years now playing 2 to 3 times a month, typically. These have held up very well for me. Then again, I treat my equipment like gold because I don't have a ton of money. Some of us just can't afford $150 for a single wedge. Buying the package set of 3 allows me to try different things around the green making the game more fun. I'm never gonna be (NAME YOUR FAVORITE GOLFER). I just want decent products that are a good value. The money I save on products like this allows me to budget for golf balls. :) Thanks for taking time to do a poor man's set of wedges Rick!
Just bought these a month ago. They have great customer service and shipped really quickly. The spin they get for me is amazing. They've allowed me to hit alot more greens, legitimately. The only downfall is the amount of dirt that gets caked in the milled face... But that's what gives it the action. 💥 -also: get the silver ones so the finish isn't a problem. Or get trippy with the rainbows and when it fades to silver it's still dope. 💪
I've had mine for 2 years. Other than breaking the 60 degree on a COMPLETELY unnecessary flop shot and caught a tree root, they've been great. Got em on the "blemish" page for 100 dollars shipped. I love em!!
I bought the Kirkland signature last year and I've never needed to replace them, I'm going to get them regripped and double taped now as they're a little too thin but they're amazing
Hey Rick, how does the finish coming off effect the performance? Or is it just a cosmetic thing? For the price, if the performance doesn't change, I don't care what the club looks like....
I’m saying lol. Rick is so upset by the finish coming off. I didn’t see any dents or chips on those grooves however and they have different color options if it really bothers you. Rick is belly aching over nothing
Rick, if you had a show on the Golf Channel, I would tune in to every episode. I'd seen these wedges on Amazon and was intrigued. I'm still intrigued. Thank you, as always!!
I bought the 4y a coupe years back and gave it to my dad. He hits it very well and is completely happy with it. Compared to my 5h ping G it’s about even distance wise. Your mileage may vary 😊
I have the 60* wedge in black and found the same thing about the wear. I kind of expect it though. Hitting out of the sand will always hurt the finish of any club, so I took it in stride. The longer shots are very consistent for me. My 60* is always good for 70 yds. I have found it to be a good club and very consistent for me on the course. I would recommend it, but understand the finish will wear with use. Cheers Rick! and keep the great content rolling out
Thanks! Really liked this look into the cheaper wedges. I actually started to use the Kirkland wedges after your review. Couldn’t bring myself to spend over $600 on 3 wedges that should probably be replaced every couple years.
Thank you for finally reviewing the Lazrus Wedges. I’ve commented a few time asking you to and it super nice to hear your thoughts on them. I’ve used them now for about 3-4 months. The finish definitely wears out quick, however, I’ve been able to get backspin on my shots more with these Lazrus wedges than any other wedges.
Same. It did take me a few rounds to dial in my distance as I get about 15 more yards with this 60 than my old one. Considering getting the rest of the set though.
For any CANADIANS out there, I bought a 3 set of wedges (52,56 and 60) from Costco for $180. They’re some of the best wedges and my dad is getting rid of his taylormades for the Kirkland ones. They sell really good golf clubs for an amazing price. Check it out, maybe in the USA too.
I would say with the shaft it sounds more flexi which means it’s probably even better for your higher handicap golfer . Seems a great purchase for 70% of players
I bought the Kirkland wedges. They were being discontinued and went on sale for $120 for the set of 3. I had been looking at them for a while and that sale price made me pull the trigger. Absolutely love them. Lots more spin than the Lazarus wedges. The weak point was the grip, but that is easily fixed. I definitely prefer the chrome finish over the black.
Ive been using the Lazrus wedges for about half a year and i love them. Cant beat the quality for the price piont. Got mine in the chrome finish and there is little to no wear on them
Same. Just got a rock gouge on my 60 last week, was a little bummed, but hey tools not jewels right. The durability is actually impressive at the price point.
They also make hybrids, would love to see a review of those. Most places have said the wedges are pretty solid, but never seen anything about the hybrids.
I've got a 7H I bought from them a year ago when I was really struggling with my irons. I find them pretty decent overall with just a tad less forgiveness than my Callaway 5H.
I bought these clubs a couple of months ago, I got them in silver as it was obvious going to be a school boy mistake to get rainbow or black even if they do look great out of the box!! I've got to say my chipping has never been as good, partly down to the clubs but also they have given me loads of confidence to improve and take shots I would have avoided previously.... 100% worth the price, especially for us high handicap players who don't want to spend £450 of 3 clubs!
I really want you to review the New Adams Golf clubs. With the taylormade technology behind them and direct to consumer model, they look like a good balance of tech and value for the high handicapper or beginner.
I bought a set of Lazrus wedges 2 years ago and really liked them. The only issue I found was the lofts were all incorrect when put on a loft measuring tool. (I started to suspect that after I started using the Arccos caddie system.) The 52 degree? Measured 49 degrees. (Only 1 degree weaker than my Mizuno GW as it turns out) The 56 degree? Measured 52 degrees. The 60 degree? Measured 56 degrees. They're not bad wedges for what you pay for them, but as with so many things... you get what you pay for. I have two Lazrus hybrid clubs and really like them as well. I haven't put them on a loft measuring tool, and I don't intend to. They're doing what I want them to do.
Ive been playing for about 6 months and these are the same wedges I have. I knew they were cheap but I absolutely love them. So glad they compare to some of the best wedges out there! Thanks for the awesome review and the confidence booster!
Hi Rick, i really like you're video's. Keep doing those video's, because for Golf noobs it's not simple what club to buy an absolut not to buy. Thx for that!!!
I got the costco clubs 2 years ago after playing for a year and then got these wedges last year to go with them since the costco set only had a pitching wedge. I like them but I shoot 100.:D Having a set of wedges helped a lot vs always using a pw. I got the rainbow set, my friend got the black set. His are more used but I feel like the rainbow set is holding up better visually from wear and tear than the black. My 52 did come with a pretty deep nick in the back. Looks like it happened during manufacturing because they were packaged well. Nothing too bad that made me want to send them back and wait for a new set though.
Thanks for the review Rick I have Callaway wedges love them but tbh the first wedge I ever brought was a Dunlop for £4.99 and it is still finding its way back in my bag lol great review
Loved these wedges when first starting! i think you're very correct though, the shafts are suspect for faster players. Didn't have any personal experience with the finishes on the head, so thats unfortunate to see for sure. But i think these are GREAT wedges if youre just starting. They seems to produce a lot of spin for the right player, but its easy to over power that shaft in full swings as a more experienced player.
I bought mine out of the "used" section. All three were still wrapped and they're great. I don't get a ton of back spin and grips are meh but so far they have been great
I have a putter from this company and it was a game changer..I had been using a odyssey two ball and the new putter feels looks and performed hands down better (im not sponsored or affiliated in any way just extremely impressed)
I had a wedge in a black finish and while it does wear off quickly, it gives good feedback as to where you strike the ball. I had a pretty solid circle in the center of the club face. It was a 52° so it was mainly for full shots.
What I would like to see if a comparison between a couple of wedges around this price point. The Wilson harmonized wedges, these, the Kirkland wedges and others around this price point.
I use two of the hybrids and the 7 wood. This brand is significantly underrated for the price. I have the putter as well but it’s not replaced my Scotty. You honestly can’t go wrong with them as they have a money back guarantee.
Bomb tech wedges are legit. Not sure if you can review them, but I'm on my 3rd season with them and they have very little wear and tear with the black finish. Great content Rick!
Rick, I’ve been gaming these wedges for about 7 months and mostly love them except…. As you said, the shafts. I had the shafts of both the 56 degree and the 52 degree literally snap in my hands in fairly quick succession. That wasn’t ideal but the upside is Lazrus support is phenomenal & in no time I had them re-shafted at their cost. Now they’re perfect! Oh, and you should just go for the silver finish as I did rather than black or rainbow; even premium brands have a tricky time keeping colourful wedge finishes looking good over time so it’s unrealistic to expect a budget brand to manage it. Great review! Maybe post one on the review channel soon :)
I’ve had these since Christmas. Absolutely love them. However, my 56 snapped in half hitting it off the fairway recently. BUT, just echoing what you said-customer service was fantastic. Sent me a new one within the week.
I've used those wedges for over a year now. They are solid. I had them re-gripped at the PGA super store here in Chandler, AZ. And the guy asked me where I got them. He said they looked like great quality but he'd never heard of the brand.
I spent some time with these wedges and just took them out of my golf bag again. The problem for me was having a set of graphite clubs but with steel shafted wedges and the weight difference caused problems. But I'm sure they are a great set of wedges for most people.
For a person with some savvy, just buy the set and replace the shafts with FST wedge shafts. Also, I have Callaway Mack Daddy wedges that the black finish came off fairly quickly. That's why I just buy raw wedges now.

New Kirkland Signature wedges just came out this week at Costco. Any chance you'll review them?
I’m wondering which ones I should get
I have bought those exact wedges the black does scoff easily but the quality and playability of them is very good in my opinion
Loving my Lazrus wedges. Got mine for under $150. Plenty of control & spin. Replaced my SM7's.
Just got back into golfing after a very long break (20 years 😅). I’m 36 and am so glad I’ve got back into it and I love the fact that I discovered your channel. My wife and I have become huge fans. Love the content Rick. Keep doing what you do. 😉😊
If I was gonna pay that money for 3wedges I'd go for the Kirklands, absolutely brilliant wedges but always good to have options
Love my Kirkland wedges. Best, most consistent clubs in my bag.
Yea the Kirkland 52 is my bitch. Love them.
Agreed. Also with their awesome return policy this season I went and returned them at Costco and picked up a brand new fresh set. So fresh grooves for nothing.
Got this set in the silver a month ago. Helped me a ton with the short range shots. Helped me drop 5 strokes, and finally broke 90 😂
Bought them about 2 months ago and really liking them. Keep up the good work guys.
Are they Amazing?
I bought my set about the same time. Have no complaints on the set.
-also: get the silver ones so the finish isn't a problem.
It's cosmetic only - no performance impact.
Rick, if you had a show on the Golf Channel, I would tune in to every episode. I'd seen these wedges on Amazon and was intrigued. I'm still intrigued. Thank you, as always!!
Respect to you for taking us all along with your journey in business and life.
I bought the 4y a coupe years back and gave it to my dad. He hits it very well and is completely happy with it. Compared to my 5h ping G it’s about even distance wise. Your mileage may vary 😊
Got the wedges last week, received the irons this week. I am a new golfer and I absolutely love these for the price.
New golfer won’t notice a difference from
A good or bad club really anyways. Smart to find decent and cheap
Cheers Rick! and keep the great content rolling out
I'm still using my 52 and love it. Snapped the 60 and replaced it with a Cleveland, still love the spin on the Lazrus a bit more.
Love the video. Your commitment to giving honest reviews is what gets me coming back.
Glad you finally reviewed these, I bought a Lazrus 4 Hybrid a few years ago and I absolutely love it!
I'm a mid-high handicapper realistically, and I bought these when I first got back into golf last year, I'm very impressed by what I spent
It’s about time Rick reviews these. I play 4 all the way down to 60 degree and couldn’t be happier.
I am so pumped you reviewed these finally!!
(I started to suspect that after I started using the Arccos caddie system.)
The 52 degree? Measured 49 degrees. (Only 1 degree weaker than my Mizuno GW as it turns out)
The 56 degree? Measured 52 degrees.
The 60 degree? Measured 56 degrees.
They're not bad wedges for what you pay for them, but as with so many things... you get what you pay for.
I have two Lazrus hybrid clubs and really like them as well. I haven't put them on a loft measuring tool, and I don't intend to. They're doing what I want them to do.
This would certainly explain the longer distances Rick has hitting. Rick chalked it up to the shafts. He might be wrong lol.
@@all0utmetal735 Right - I actually thought about that while I was watching the video.
I own theses!! Have had them for a few years. So good my regular golf buddy picked them up also. Great clubs at a great price.
I have them same set in black finish, bought them about two months ago. I hardly have any wear and tear on them. I golf at least 4 days a week.
Love seeing you putting that wedge lesson to use. Love seeing you use release 1,2,3 fantastic!
How do they compare to the Kirklands (Costco) wedges?
I have a set of these wedges myself. I bought them in 2021, and it was only £100. I love them. Good clubs for the money
Honestly been so curious about these. So glad to see a review.
Thanks for the review Rick I have Callaway wedges love them but tbh the first wedge I ever brought was a Dunlop for £4.99 and it is still finding its way back in my bag lol great review
Is that the new short game techniques I’m seeing Rick? Loving the quality of your content each week
Very interesting review as always, Rick. Maybe do a video with a full Lazrus bag? Wedges, irons, woods and putter?
I like the looks of a worn down dark color wedge. It looks weathered and loved.
Nice review Rick, I saw you shooting this video last Friday at the Marriott. These look like great clubs.
I don't get a ton of back spin and grips are meh but so far they have been great
This was definitely a video before your short game lesson….love seeing the difference in your takeaway after your lesson!
I take my comment back after seeing you hit the 56 degree…my apologies! Release #2. Well done
I've reshafted my mizuno wedges as the shafts were 'heavy' now with a light stiff they are fantastic
What I would like to see if a comparison between a couple of wedges around this price point. The Wilson harmonized wedges, these, the Kirkland wedges and others around this price point.
He's tested all 3 seperatly and if I remember correctly he liked the Wilson the best.
I use two of the hybrids and the 7 wood. This brand is significantly underrated for the price. I have the putter as well but it’s not replaced my Scotty. You honestly can’t go wrong with them as they have a money back guarantee.
pleased you checked these out. I have looked at them on amazon several times but always left with the too good to be true.
Please continue the Amazon club testing I love these videos.
Would love a review of the other Lazarus clubs. I’m needed a new set of irons on the cheap
I have a Lazarus 8 iron, I love it just as much any of my other irons, I have a mixed bag of irons, mostly callaway.
In regards to the grips, if there is a poor grip would you not be able to get it regripped or are you not able to regrip certain clubs?
You can regrip any club. There are no limits except your wallet 👍🏻
Glad Rick finally reviewed these!
Bomb tech wedges are legit. Not sure if you can review them, but I'm on my 3rd season with them and they have very little wear and tear with the black finish.
Great content Rick!
Ive been interested in the bomb tech wedges for a while now, but i cant find solid reviews on UA-cam about them.
I run almost all Lazrus in my bag now. Great club for the price and love the wedges
Now you have to retest them with your corrected chip swing.
I’m a high handicap and I got these in the chrome finish. I love them out of the bunker and within 75 yards. If you get these wedges get the chrome.
We all know a beginners research in clubs is not complete until Rick has done a review!! Please review the takomo irons the other reviews seem way too good to be true
A lot of the performance of the wedges depends on the bounce etc. So this would be a big factor
I shoot with these wedges as well, I cannot complain about these clubs at all, nice feel and get complemented on them often
I have these wedges, in the crazy rainbow color. I LOVE EM!
