I'll contribute a few of my concerning ones
      1) looking up illegal weapons like ballistic knives (both for reference images and to understand how they work for certain scenes)
      2) "how much cyanide does it take to kill someone"
      3) "is ricin detectable by tests" (#2 and #3 are from the same universe)

A character in one of my barely started stories was pregnant, but had a miscarriage, so I had to figure out how a miscarriage can happen at four months. I determined it was due to a small, irregularly shaped womb that caused the baby to suffocate (I hope that's accurate), but now I'm not sure if she can go into labor or if they would have to give her a c-section.
It's worth noting that this part of the part of the plot was made so I could justify why a couple, who officially gets together in the earlyish middle of the story, has a child that is 5 years old without having a 5 year time skip. It is also because I wanted some angst.

      Here’s some of mine.
      1. Weight of an average feather duster.
      2. How many knives could you hide underneath an ankle length skirt.

Seriously- Earlier today I looked up, "if poison was forcibly injected to a human Bloodstream would it kill them?"
And also "What is the difference between a serial killer and a murderer?"

Prequel material. Just write the first story. Then go backwards in time. Not forwards. You could probably make that the surprise twist of the first book. The story ending too neatly, and you can only wonder how there could be any sequels. But no, it's prequels all the way down.

@@DeletedUser_0000 I've done the same thing but then I realized that even if my pages aren't complete, as long as I have enough scenes to portray the timeline of events I could just do snapshots of the story in consecutive order. Like the first post could be the introduction to the story, and the second post could be used to introduce the setting, the third used to show compelling action, the fourth jumps forward like a day or two as we're settling into the coming of events, so on and so fourth. Who says you need a fully fleshed out story? With the medium of social media that can be used to upload your story, all you need is *enough to let the audience in on whats happening, and enough to make them care.
Of course, I haven't done this yet myself. But I find that if theres going to be any shortcuts taken on the path to presenting your story, its this one. As far as illustrating it goes, practice hard. Thats all I can say. That and don't force the images onto the page. Figure out how to contrive your style, and let the image of those characters come to you. Or get someone else to do it if you can. Cheers.

It's nice to see other people's outlooks to writing. For me I'm never stuck for what to write or get stuck on a paragraph. I either figure it out in my head first before I set down to write or if I do intend on writing something that's not that planned, I usually figure something out pretty quickly. However editing, I hate editing. Most of my editing is either word changes I think about months later or I write down what I need to edit but am never bothered trying to edit them. For me if I learn something new that could improve my writing I incorporate that into my next story. Like my first story was just a bit of fun to see if I could write a story but there was loads of non-plot relevant stuff in there I thought would be fun to write. The second was way more planned with each scene being plot relevant but it wasn't nearly as fun and I got paranoid my character was OP author's stand in (she was) so I tried humbling her by throwing all this angst at her. Third book is structured, non-fantasy (to give myself a challenge) so not half as fun but with a super intriguing plot (I hope) and I'm trying to make sure everyone is a well rounded character, even the really mean ones. Plus side, I'm very productive. Down side, I've never really written a second draft.

Writing poetry is hard too. Sure theres little words and all you have to do is make it look fancy but theres more to it.
Idk much about it and i only wrote a few out of emotional distress but you can easily derail from your original meaning, make the poerty longer than you wanted, too many unnecessary lines which are there for style, losing sight of what you wanted it to mean and now you're stuck with a work you'll never be able to finish without slapping on some cheesy ending lines.
Maintaining the structure of it to make it look pretty is hard too, the consistent rhyming is a thing

When I don't know where to go with a scene, I do a time skip. How long? However long it would take for these imaginary people to pull their shit together without my assistance. Why? Because I can always go back and write more to the scene if I come up with something. Just like in an exam: when you don't know the answer, move on to the next question and come back later.

My weird search history, as a writer that dumps WAY too much trauma on my poor little children. Gotta be some spice to develop their character, yeah?
Ranging from normal to weird to "you're now on a government watchlist" material.
    - synonym of [insert word]
    - [insert word] meaning
    - E.g. Each other or eachother
    - E.g. Well-meaning or well meaning
(I'm not a native English speaker, though I do speak basically about as fluent as one would, but I still check occasionally lol. I'm Finnish, by the way.)
    - Self-made stitches
    - What is in a first aid kit?
    - Symptoms of [insert mental illness]
    - How to pick handcuffs
(+normal locks as an accidental rabbit hole)
    - Stab wound scar
    - Types of knives
    - Types of blades
    - Small hand guns
    - Where to stab someone to kill them quickly?
    - Where to stab someone to make them bleed out quickly?
(Also researched the placement of major arteries and major organs)
    - Where to stab someone to not cause too much damage?
    - Torture methods
    - Torture victim medical report
(I wanted to know how the examination process would go if a victim of torture was brought to a hospital. I found a very good, helpful article. Titled "Clinical Examination and Reporting of a Victim of Torture".)
Not to worry, nearly all of my 100+ characters get a happy ending.

Thing is, a lot of my stories, while they do involve some violence, are never *just* violence. There's a lot of doing good things for people, vigilantes saving civilians from criminals (and possibly getting injured, can't have good luck forever and often e.g. muggers have some kind of weapon), there's a lot of exploring of things. Exploring characters, exploring the way things affect people's behavior and mental health (trauma, kindness, found family, recovery, etc), how avsolutely wild the coping mechanisms and protective methods the brain has and uses (blocking traumatic memories, hypervigilance, false memories, mental disorders such as DID)...
Sorry for the rant, felt like explaining some of the uhh... questionable ones. I swear my characters receive often better treatment from their friends and family than I do lmao
