Sonny Dykes had success at Cal and SMU. At Cal Dykes beat Texas Twice and Ole Miss twice. Cal hasn't been the same since they stupidly let him go.
Another legend hater who doesn't know how the game works... 80% of this team was Patterson's and would have won if he was still coach. Dykes is good, too... I'm not knocking him, but only time (and major bowl wins) will tell if he's as good as Gary was.

I kept saying rankings don't matter early this season. Anything can happen.
They only matter if you are Texas or Oklahoma because that's when you're relevant. I mean Oklahoma gets to the playoffs where it gets annihilated and Texas wets the bed as soon as it can in the regular season.

I like to say the only rankings that matter this early are top 4/5 because those are the usual playoff contenders. Every other spot is interchangeable

Tcu is 4-0 congrats on the win. TCU should find themselves ranked. The Kansas Jayhawks and TCU play next Saturday and it should be a very entertaining game. Both are undefeated at the moment

@@zacharydowell6991 this happens constantly in the Big 12. Where everybody beats everyone and we have no clear cut stand outs. I remember TCU being left out of the playoffs a few years back and we should have been in the top 4. Played Ole Miss and absolutely destroyed them.

I agree I remember in 2017 part of the justification for alabama getting in was that they beat a top 5 ranked florida state. Florida state finished 7-6 that year yet alabama got credit for beating a top 5 team. Same thing could happen to Ohio state this year, get credit for beating a top 5 team when notre dame clearly wasn't a top 5 team.

Not a sooner fan but people said I was nuts for saying Oklahoma isn't a playoff team. I also said the expectations for Brent was way to high year one. Well would you look at that. The man needs time to get his pieces in, something that doesn't take nearly as long thanks to the transfer portal. This is gonna hurt recruiting but he's got to show the new kids that he means business. But he also has NIL and I'm sure Oklahoma has huge boosters so things will be fine again, its just gonna take time.
Great win for TCU tho, 5 star hearts for sure because coach had those dudes focused.

Sooners have embarrassed themselves year after year. As a Sooners fan, I honestly hated seeing OU go to the playoffs.. because I knew they would get wrecked by the #1 seed in the semi final. We get hyped up to a top tier standard, but goof up more than anyone. Trust me, we felt some of your pain over the last 20 years... suffered even more pain in the 90's.
