We just got our first GSP last friday at 8 weeks, and i have been following you folks so closely for tips and training guides as i've never trained a Bird Dog before. Thank you for everything you do, and I love the new intro!
Great video once again...I do prefer these videos that shows the explanations and the dog behaviour rather than you guys only providing explanations. But I still watch’em all 🤪 Getting our 7 weeks old girl on Friday 😁
Just wanted to say thank you for everything!Been watching your videos for months in preparation for my first pup!! (3/8/21) What you both teach seems perfect for a happy, and stimulated companion. Poor college student atm, but definitely plan on my future support of your channels.
Hello I have a new English Setter puppy and love what you guys are doing with all the videos! I can't get enough, excellent work! One quick question about the covers you guys have on all your raised dog beds? Is there somewhere I can purchase one? They make the bed so much more nice looking when you don't see the pvc. Any help POINTING😅 me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much Jeremy
Yawa question- My 16 Brittany pup started off great with training with kibble, Now doesn’t seem very food driven when it comes to kibble, moves very slow during training and sometimes flat out refuses the kibble, but will chow down when I put the rest of the food in bowl to eat. Session are not long maybe 5 min 2-3 times a day. And change up the routine so it in not the same over and over. Feeding Diamond puppy kibble.
YAWA Question: I currently have a 10 week old lab. I am using the same schedule and methods that are shown in the sprig series and he (waylon) is excelling very well. My problem is he doesn't seem to care to follow his commands when we are not in a training session (mainly recall). Should I start using treats for commands throughout the day or through repetition will the behaviors become more consistent (He will eventually become collar conditioned)? Love what you all do!
What would you suggest if a dog isn’t food driven. We feed royal canin 4800. She does love human food but we rarely give our pointer anything else other than her kibble.
Just started to watch your videos...so is the essence of free shaping that you are not giving any commands to follow but rewarding the behavior you want? Also, when she jumped up with her feet on the stool at the beginning I noticed you weren't correcting verbally, do you not use "no"? Thank you
Potential YAWA question here. I have a 9 week old GWP and she's already starting to point at her toys. Any recommendations as to what I should do when she does this? I don't want to build bad habits but would like to encourage it. Thanks!
@@StandingStoneKennels ohhh ok I see I see... I was soo stressed out when my GSP was that age... I always wanted to fight her cause she got into my shoes or the remote
YAWA Question: Our 12 week old GSP isn't very fond of strangers, she tucks her tail and backs up and won't get near anyone. Any tips? We are trying to socialize her on walks and things like that but she is still very scared. She gets a lot of socialization through friends coming in our house and loves it but the second we get outside she is nervous again
I would suggest having a friend or any other people you know to come over or go to their house and give them treats and always make the encounter a good and happy experience for the dog it sounds like as a puppy it wasn’t socialized well enough so just socialize it to new people and new things and alt ways make it a positive experience
@@keatontimmonsyt she loves anyone coming into our house (so she gets a lot of people interaction through that) as well as likes going to other people’s houses after a bit of exploring and gaining confidence, but it’s when it’s outside of the house that when she’s hesitant
@@hannahkaiser1553 plant some familiar faces on a "walk" she has met bob 3 times, she likes bob and recognizes him, tell bob to park down the street and meet you on your normal route
This looks like your teasing the dog! Feed her and then tell her to go to bed. It’s all about daily routine, I wake up I feed my dog she goes outside, comes back and goes to her bed. I wouldn’t want someone to throw me piece of steak every once in while and especially when they throw it all over the place and make me hunt for it.

That intro is comedy gold... 10/10.
We are getting a puppy in May. This video is very helpful in our prep for that. Your Sprig series is also very informative!
Thanks for being a fan!
We will be practicing this lots ! Love the “real life” scenario perspective. Very helpful.

Coconut oil or peanut butter is ur friend when it comes GSP

That’s good
Build on that
Where do you get those long snake toys?
You can also put peanut butter in a kong and put it by the bed.. they will stay there licking until they get tired and eventually NAP on that bed..
I like the way you think but this isn’t teaching exactly what we want either.

Find about 3 dog owners that she can make friends with the dogs and then the owner ( doggie dates aren’t just for the dogs to interact)
You need a bed with bolsters to keep the food in. Hehehe
Random but where did you get the giant octopus toy?!
I would love to know also!
I’ll check with Kat!
😢💔
