I did this cut a few times and really liked it, but then eventually the layers in the back of my hair became too short for the layers in front when I kept doing this method. After doing it for a while, I had to have the back layered by a professional. The reason I started cutting my own hair was that I have trouble getting haircuts I like from professionals. It’s definitely a problem!
Oh that's interesting! Did you do it the way I did where I section out my bangs and cut those separately like Mell did in the 'sister' video? Or were you just cutting the pigtail part as she does in her main pigtails cut tutorial?
@@wavyhaircareblog964 , I didn’t section out the bangs because I wanted my bangs to grow a bit, but I did cut the perimeter the way she did in her pigtail video. When I went to the professional stylist to fix it, she told me my hair looked really good actually, and she’s someone who had cut my hair before I did the pigtail cut also. She just had to fix it a bit, but she liked the overall shape on me. My hair is above the shoulders though.
You did a good job your hair really looks nice I wouldn't change nothing about it if I was you but it's up to you One thing about curly hair is that you can't tell if the hair is uneven but it looks really good😊👍
If you want to get some shorter layers through the middle section I can tell you what I noticed my hair stylist doing. She parted my hair in the center and then went down the length of the part from back to front taking equal size sections from both sides of the part, bringing them straight up in the middle and cutting straight across. Then when you let go of the hair, the sections will fall down on both sides of the part and be equal lengths. I noticed it helped to give my hair more of that rounded shape that looks really good on curly hair.
After doing the cut, you noticed that you wanted more layers in the mid to lower part. To get your desired effect, you should lower your pigtail sections (your initial pigtails where set a little higher than what you needed).
Yep! That's where I get them from now. I know there is some controversy about buying on Amazon, due to fears of false products but I have never had issues with ordering the cake mousse from Amazon.
Thank you! I've often found that saving money often means doing more work on my part, but that's usually an exchange I'm happy to make. Or to make the same point from the other direction, I tend to not feel like it makes sense for my finances to pay double or more just to save a little of my time. But I think it totally makes sense that everyone has to calculate that decision based on their own finances or lifestyle situation. :)
Not even close. She took a lot of time in between cuts talking about stuff, but there is no way you can drive to salon, wait your turn, get your haircut, pay and get back home in less time. Besides, these cuts aren’t really for time savings, they are for saving $ and not being able to find stylists that do what you ask them to do.

You are just so darn cute.
I think you did fine job for $7 scissors and watching a video but a hairdresser would have taken half the time

Well we watched all the warty to see if it worked, and guess what she doesn’t show it styled so a waist of my time
I do show it styled after it's cut, starting at about 18:30
