Eddie and Aaron both stated that at the beginning they wanted to make over the top goofy metal, which they were doing with Mister Sister Fister. When they sent their music for Dan to record over, the results shocked them. Because they weren't just goofy or wacky. they had an actual chronological story. Check out the song Behold the Kingdom of the Wretched Undying (album 2), and read the lyrics all the way through. I would say that would change you mind instantly

Infant Annihilator is the epitome of extreme death metal, the most polarized juxtaposition of inhumanely vile vocals combined with chaotic but tight instrumental work. You'd get a completely different experience listening to an instrumental version of their tracks and the vocals added, though I'd agree this song's lyrics are above and beyond what you'd call shock. In terms of narrative it's consistently critical in a way that almost seems sincere and positive in exploring the darkest perspective of the subject matter and theme. It's like it went so far beyond the bounds of one extreme by embodying it that it met the other extreme's ignorance of it all. Kinda makes you think a little more than you wanted to...
Their new album is way more serious than their previous ones. Brutal as fuck nonetheless. Songs like this are pure for the shock and are also a mocking the catholic church
