What happened was we saw what most of us are afraid of. Sticking that needle directly where it is needed, directly into the cuticle to drain it but we know it's going to be painful so we keep trying to stick the needle all around it and everywhere else but inside that cuticle directly because of fear.
It actually doesn't hurt at all. Poking holes not matter how tiny is definitely more painful. A smaller needle will slide right underneath the cuticle.

So getting abscesses on the fingers is common with this disease. I used to be a dental assistant before I got so sick with psoriatic arthritis. So I think I can do it. And I want to lance my finger. So I’m looking at your videos to get some pointers. I know it hurts! I think I need to send my husband to dollar general. I need milk duds. I have everything else. You did a great job. It might be fine tomorrow. Squeeze it more. And get the antibiotics cream all around it. But a doctor can give you oral antibiotic to speed healing. Hope it heals up good. Thank for the pointers. Then I took a sewing needle and I ran it under REALLY HOT WATER for like 30 seconds. Then I poked my pinkie and felt NOTHING!! The stuff came out and I didn’t have to worry about it anymore and it scabbed up as a very small dot. If anyone has to pop something on their hand/finger and doesn’t want to use an alcoholic beverage to not feel something, use ice!!! It really works and I still couldn’t feel pain for a few minutes after. I hope this helps someone!!

That's right. The way professionals do it, you cut along the fingernail because the infection is almost always pressed up against the nail.
That's how I had to do it when I had this a few years ago; worked like a charm.
