Thank you for providing a deep dive into your stats and ECs. Not many of these videos provide that and it really helps future applications. Congratulations and go Hoyas!
your stats and ecs are genuinely so crazy i don't know how you didn't get into every single school you applied to, but congrats on georgetown!! for international relations, it's 100% the best school anyways so who cares about the others :)
@@oliviafanders Super excited for you. G'town is on my list for my daughter. I think yours is an interesting case. You got into G'town, Wesleyan, GW and W&M. All REALLY tough schools to get into. And it looks like you submitted your SATs for all four.
@@21stcenturydadd Yes, I did! That didn't even cross my mind after I got my acceptances in, but that is interesting. Georgetown requires you to submit all of the SAT scores you've ever received, but for the rest of the schools, I just submitted my SAT when my score was above the median. There's definitely something to be said for sending in scores regardless though.
she’s obv a very dedicated student and put herself out there, but for the top top schools she’s def not a top applicant. not throwing shade, just how i see it
@@imauz1127 i mean her sat score might not be the typical ivy average of 1500+ but she was very close and still got a very good score, and otherwise seems literally perfect to me in every other aspect (also not throwing shade at you, i’m just very impressed!)

congrats on georgetown! 😁😁😁 watching all these college videos has me stressed for next year lolll, but i have faith. your stats are insane too, like omg?
Thank you so much! At first, it does seem a bit overwhelming and scary, but you just have to trust that you will end up somewhere great. I obviously got a lot of rejections, but I'm still going to the perfect place for me! You will too!
Congratulations on getting into Georgetown!!!! your stats are honestly amazing and is great that you got into your top choice school since you are really interested an already working on what you love. the next part is with no intention of demeriting your effort, it makes it even more impressive tbh, i was just reflecting in cultural shock and im sorry if it was unconfortable in any way. As an Argentinian college student, the amount of distinctions you have to get throughout highschool in order to get into a good college in the US is so crazy. I study in the best ranked college in Argentina (UBA) and i only went to highschool and passed the introductory classes in order to get into my major.(as most people in Argentina since most colleges don´t care about the stuff we did in highschool).
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your perspective and reflection on the cultural differences in the college admissions process. It's fascinating to hear about the contrasting systems and requirements for admission into higher education in different countries. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Georgetown seems like an awesome choice. I'd surely take it if I could get in. The campus and surrounding area are great, one of the best parts of DC. You definitely got that Hollywood smile. Good luck in your endeavors!
congrats on georgetown!! but i can tell you totally deserved to get in 🎉 i applied but got rejected haha (luckily i got into UCLA though!). good luck to you and have fun at SFS!!
Congratulations on getting into your #1 pick! Most of the people that post videos of their college decisions are rejected from their top choice, so it was nice to see the reaction you had when you got accepted. You should be equally proud of being admitted at NYU. As for the Ivies and USC... nobody ever gets accepted at those schools. Loved the video Olivia, and good luck to you at Georgetown!
stop i know i'm late to this (and I barely comment at all) but I was genuinely so shocked when you said you're majoring in IR because I want to (I'm a rising sophomore) and I genuinely met no other person who's majoring and also going to a top school and I'm also from new jersey WHAT basically, you're an inspiration.
Congratulations on your acceptance to Georgetown. I got in as well, and I am not 100% committed to them, but super excited that I got in; It is definitely my top choice. We may see each other next fall. 🥳

I really struggled freshman year because of some familial issues but got it together this year, my unweighted gpa’s going to be a 3.75 best case scenario what do I do 😭
Hey! I was wondering if you could make a video explaining the volunteer process, I’m looking to get the presidential gold service award but the process looks complicated and it doesn’t help that I’m under 18. If you could explain your process that would be super appreciated!
Sorry for the late reply! I'm not familiar with the Presidential Gold Service Award, so I wouldn't know how to help with that, but I do know that it comes from getting a certain number of hours from specific certifying organizations. There's a website called Volunteer Match that helps with finding volunteer opportunities.
Rejection is not the word to be used. Rather the college was not fortunate for getting you admitted. Every human being on Earth is born for a purpose. Life is not only getting educated but critical thing in life is learning. There is no concept of Ivy League schools. The college themselves self advertise as Ivy. Ultimately being noble and dedication for a larger cause for the society is critical for one's success.
wowww, im recently just graduating high school and I was hoping to get a better view on what colleges i should apply to. Man are you so good at explaining and talking its like I could just MARRY YOU! haha jk, thanks Olivia!
Thank you! I got really decent aid packages from Georgetown, NYU, and Wesleyan. The rest were all merit scholarships, but none were enough to cover the cost of attendance!
congrats on getting into georgetown! your stats are pretty impressive. im thinking about starting a model un club at my school. never did it before. do you have any advice/info for me?
Thank you so much! I’m not sure how the process works at your school, but once you get the club set up, it’s actually pretty easy to register for conferences. There’s plenty of videos online about how it works + what to do too!!
@@oliviafanders thank you! also im not trying to be generic with complimenting your extracurriculars and stats. theyre actually so minblowingly impressive, you clearly deserve georgetown!
Wesleyan University that you mentioned, is that one from Connecticut? That is one of the universities my daughter is applying later this year. By the way, my daughter's dream school is Georgetown too!
Wonder if the outcome would have been different if you had sent SAT to all schools. If I had your SAT score I would had lol. I know people who got into Princeton with lower SAT than you. You did really well. Good luck with everything.
How large was your high school? I highly doubt it was actually small, coming from someone who ACTUALLY went to a small school where we are underserved and don't have access to ANYTHING like you have talked about. My graduating class was only 29 students and our school is over an hour away from any town, that's a small school, not one where you have a tennis team and a theater club lmfao.
My graduating class was 87. While that is less than half than average graduating class size in New Jersey (ie. small), we were most definitely not underserved, which is why I did not say we were. Mainly, it’s important to mention how small my school was since the majority of my classes in high school were taken virtually (since there were not a lot of high level course offerings in person), and also to show how my class rank is less important since my class was comparatively small. Thank you for your question!
@oliviafanders that's really interesting, I've never heard of a high school offering higher level classes online except for when covid hit. When I attended my high school, they didn't even offer chemistry, so I went and enrolled in college my sophomore year lmao.
