My mangle costume video has a segment which shows you the structure of a moving jaw base, along with some of my other costume videos. You basically want a hat, or helmet to start, then add a strip of cardboard on each side facing downward. Then you add a curved piece of cardboard horizontally connected to either vertical strip with nuts and bolts. Then you add a piece of cardboard to hold the shape of the curve that would sit under your jaw. Then you add elastic that is connected to the top piece and the jaw piece so it will retract when you move your jaw.
