Jbrown is the guy who would be complaining that Wesley Willis was singing out of key, or that Daniel Johnson is playing a little off beat. Used to be in a band with someone similar (judging from comments and videos) took all the fun out of playing music.
@thepunkfish109 I totally agree. I just don't think we should diminish or ignore the vast histories that have influenced musicians today. (and I get that much American folk was influenced by British, not to mention Irish and African, music in the first place) I happen to like Mumford & Sons and love the fact that anybody, anywhere in the world can make any kind of music they wish.
@brocky3 I would say that if it's honest music, it's all good. The world can debate the merits of every folk/rock/punk/bluegrass band... but as long as it's real... then it's furthering the cause, whether it's your favourite or not.
@jbrown883music If you really think good music is about technique then I feel bad for you. Music and art in general is about feeling, emotion, soul... these guys make you feel and that is why everyone loves them. If your nit-picking and going on about technique... wow... you are in the wrong line of work my friend. The great artists of this world usually often have no formal training and can blow you away with a box of crayons and a napkin.
Does anyone else get annoyed when camra operators have no idea who to focus on during solos. Do we really need a fiddle close up during a banjo solo? LOL
This song gave me some bloody blisters on my fingers! Very awesome....

That is so awesome... they just wail. Great question too!

I feel like I'm going to have a brain aneurysm trying to wrap my head around how these fellars play so fast so consistently.
nice song!

I would gladly get trampled by turtles everyday if this was the process in which to accomplish such an act.

@iraleecantellia Haha. It's like looking at an "evolution of man" chart. Much respect to the beards.

@PandaStoleMyPuppies I would say that Mumford & Sons is the British response to a good century and a half of *American* folk.
@jbrown883music booooooo

Yet Mumford and Sons do it it better.
