@ 7:40. The Red Baron’s replacement after he was killed in action in WW1, as the leader of the squadron, was none other than the earlier seen Goering. He was a recognised flying ace in his own right. Although much slimmer in those days.
I just got a brand new TV and to replace my 10 year old 60" Samsung and just like before part of your descriptions are cut off,, a small percentage of the text is cut off on certain ones... The Serra Pelada gold mine one for example..
The giant tortoises can get very old. That particular one was probably hatched in 1832 (according to Wikipedia, there's more written elsewhere and there's always some uncertainty). As they can probably live to 200 or more he may still have some time left.
@@watchman1178 They get old. There's an unverified account of one who allegedly lived to 255, but Jonathan's case is better documented. Turns out that the latest possible year he was hatched was 1832, it's possible he was hatched earlier (and is therefore even older), it's just that in 1886 he was fully mature and that means he was hatched *at the latest* in 1832 - they aren't getting to full maturity until they reach around 50 (unlike humans, us men in particular.. we never mature, it's just that our toys get more expensive).
@@watchman1178 Bowhead whales can live past 200 as well. This was first suspected when living specimens were found with embedded harpoons which could be age determined. Since verified by other scientific techniques. Of course this is a much larger animal, but it's also a mammal unlike slow-growing reptiles.
Thank you for watching!

Once again, excellent photos. Thank you!
That smiling lady with the iron in her hand was/is 28 year-old Joan Blondell in DAMES (1934)
Yes it looked far too staged.
..... and I think it's a smoothing iron not a flat iron.
Always appreciated when a new compilation is posted.
As a history buff I absolutely loved this!!! My favorite picture were the vietnam veterans proudly protesting the war in Vietnam.
That Statue of Liberty picture gave me Faceoff vibes for some reason
Laundry lady at 4:02 looks very much like Joan Blondell in 'Dames'
What is the magic backing music I am addicted
❤Dankeschön ❤
Anybody noticed how much the Statue of Liberty's face looks like Elvis!!!😆

Keith Richards looked more like 59 than 29.
Exactly what I was thinking
Car television that mustn't have caught on because i really haven't heard about them that much
Remember in the early 2000’s they came back embedded in the headrests so people (kids) in the back seat could watch DVDs?
Marilyn Monroe ❤❤
i love Jonathan the tortoise

Historical pictures from the "Past" as opposed to the future?

1:45 Wait a minute. You're saying that a tortoise from 1885 is still alive today? How can that be?

@@tohaason Wow, 200 years? I knew they lived a long time, but I had no idea they got that old.

@@tohaason 😃 Thanks for the information. I'm still blown away that any species lives to be over 200 years old. That's amazing.

“Historical photos from the past.” Bit redundant that. All photos are from the past.
Sikorsky still exists as a helicopter company.
👍
Sister Mary Kenneth Keller looks like a Conehead from Saturday Night Live in its initial year and several others as well.
Lunar dust? Ahahaha yeah sure
👍
