It’s amazing how most of the past photos look more beautiful even in B+W photos. Says a lot.
I have been thinking the same eversince they started doing the colorizating. Please leave them as is.
What I find particularly fascinating is that many of the buildings decimated by WWII were repaired or rebuilt to look like the original! Dachau made me cry; what a horrible legacy.
Really love seeing then and now fantastic 👍🇬🇧
Love these old photo/ new photo comparisons!❤
I love history thanks for sharing these. Photos. I love all of them ❤
Great Photos👍 Tks❤️
I never thought I would see a comparison of little ol' Lenexa, KS mixed in with these other amazing locations. Thanks for including a part of my home town.
Love these!
Some of the photos, the WW2 ones are epic. I'm thinking of generations knowing the a desolate town came alive after the war. A picture with war tanks during the war and one with a football pitch or classy town buildings.
I love these now and then photos 👌
I couldn't stop watching
Thank you for history
They were all pretty cool!
I currently live about 15 minutes from where Rocky Point was and visited it every summer growing up back in the 60's and 70's.
The music & the death March piano playing put me to sleep half way through this video, I couldn’t finish it, I kept nodding off.
Just mute the crap music that accompanies these great videos. I do !!
I was in Cairo several years ago. It was like a deserted movie set for an apocalyptic zombie movie. Eerie.
Enjoy the photos but not the funeral dirge. One notable thing: in the old photos you see people. In the newer ones you only see cars.
cool 😎
I think the four guys standing at the corner of Burgundy and Toulouse Streets are Led Zeppelin. Left to right: Robert Plant, John Bonham, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page. If that's not them, they're their doppelgangers! 😊
it absolutely is!😀
Ok, I wars right. Thanks.
Once you realize the Dachau picture is the crematorium, the picture in the past is even more horrific.
20:26, they kinda look Led Zeppelin-ish
It IS them LOL
Main station Wroctaw 1938 and now: in 1938 the station couldn't have been covered in Nazi swastikas, since the Germans invaded only in 1939. Looking at the military personnel in the picture, the "1938" photo must be post-WW2, so 1945
Exactly what I was thinking!
Wroctaw was called Breslau and was a German city in 1938.
Rapa Nui is Easter Island home of the Moai- hundreds of monolithic human figures carved by the Rapa Nui people. Chile annexed it in 1888. I didnt know that! learn something new everyday!
Morgan St and Columbia Blvd Hartford CT- thats a sad picture.. so far it's impacted me the most.. I can smell the old building smells and hear the people that frequented the establishments.
Shanklin Village looks as quaint now as then! lovely little place!
2:54 those were the days when we would walk into stores and buy Memes ... the world has gone to shit I tell you.
God but I love this presentation! I found just one error and that was the president Motel Du Duval which was missing. Thank you so much!
Another error is the nazi station in “1938” but the nazis didn’t invade Poland until 1939, so the pic must’ve been taken after 1939.
All places had been either restored, improved or modernized except 16th St. Station, Oakland.
The big box stories is the biggest challenge to cities.
FANTASTIC AND A LITTLE SAD AS SOME BEAUTIFUL BUILDING ARE NO LONGER !!!!
Is it better to have side by side pictures, or one picture above the other? Or no difference?
Trying to decide on the way I'm going to present a project of my own, thanks in advance for the inputs.
Side by side for me.
The lack of tanks parked on your street can certainly make a more lovely photo. 😍
1:14 I'll bet those Marine Tower people were mighty mad when those large office towers on the left were put up and spoiled their view.
That is Led Zeppelin in the photo at Toulouse and Burgundy near the end of the video.
Second piano song is so depressing that I quit looking at the pictures.
Why is the music so morbid?
Does anyone know the title of the music
I absolutely love all the old photos but why is the music so depressing?
Chopin's The Funeral March ... FFS
Il y a certains morceaux de musique sympa quand même
Le premier morceau 😊
20:30 Corner of Toulouse & Burgundy in New Orleans. La, that's Led Zeppelin.
Things from a hundred years ago seems to be more beatiful and peaceful.
The main train station "Then" photo is mis-dated. The date was most likely in 1940 after the Nazi occupation in Sep/Oct 1939 due to the ReichsAdler on the station front and Nazi flags.
If you could get rid of the sparkly interference running along the top and bottom this would be great to watch.
leith street scotland
Maybe make an attempt to match the camera quality today with the old ones? The new ones look shoddy.
13:23 😢
20:28 LED ZEPPELIN posing for a photo!
All did!
Al minuto 20:40 spuntano i Led Zeppelin formazione al completo
once Bach kicked in I was at peace. Thank you.
Illinois born & raised here. Cairo, IL is pronounced “KAY-row.” No joke. 😂
Can I go back to “then?”
I WEAP when i see old phots of london and the place were i was born HACKNEY EAST LONDON . i know time marches on
but LOOKAT MY LONDON OF WHAT IT HAS BECOME IN SOME AREAS UNRECOGNIZABLE. I USED TO PRIDE MY SELF KNOWING THE STREETS
NEVER GET LOST IN LONDON I WOULD SAY NOT NOW IS IT THAT I HAVE JUST OLD OR I DONT SEE MODERN LONDON AS I ID AS A KID ANY MORE
TIME MACHINE WANTED HAVE YOU GOT ONE IF I HAD WOULD GO BACK E 50IES 60IES LONDON LIFT ANY ONE AMEN
Some photos from my country. Nice :)
PS Photographs from England are booooring - nothing changes :) [Joke!]
20:32 Led Zeppelin , left ?
of course.
Sorry but the music is not really a good choice.
And shoots from the same angle as the original would have been cool.
But it's awesome to see that some places never really changed.
My goodness what a lot of boring comparisons.
I thought I was alone!!!!
YOU'RE boring !!
The cancel culture hasn’t had the Confederate Monument in Richmond,VA torn down yet?
Thanks🙏
