Yep. I've been fishing Willard Bay since the late 1970s. There have been a lot of changes in the ecology and fish populations. But through it all the channel cats have always maintained a good population...and they are always willing to come out and play. During the late summer...when the walleyes and wipers are busy chasing baby shad...that cats always seem to save some room for fishermen's baits.
I live by two sayings. 1. 90% of the fish are usually in only about 10% of the water. 2. Ya cain't ketch 'em where they ain't. So the first and often hardest part of fishing is to find the fish. I do that through a combination of past experience on any given water...under similar conditions of time of year, weather, water temp and clarity. And lastly, I rely heavily on having a good sonar system to help me find the fish and determine how they are reacting to my presentations. Oh yeah...and then there is luck.
I do sell a few, but I don't have a big commercial operation. If you live anywhere near Salt Lake you would be welcome to visit my tackletorium to make your own selections. If not, I do sell to a few folks around the country by mail and Paypal. If you want more info on specific types of lures you can email me at tdude@centurylink.net. Most of the "whirly fligs" in my videos sell for about $2 each.
I really missed your posts on the BFT web site , so good to see you still chasing fish.
Thanks. Why have you missed my BFT posts? I still make them. Do you just no longer visit the site?
Those cats seem to be a handy bright weather fish to go for.

Awesome stuff! 😊
Thanks
Healthy looking cats.
Yes, they are healthy. Almost all of them had internal fat when I filleted them. They ain't been missing any meals.
Buzz flig is really producing well
Yeah. That's one I still had tied on to one of my Willard rods from my last walleye trip in June. It has caught all the major species from Willard.
Perfect day on the water!
How do you best fish the right place in the water colume? One friendly fisherman to another.
