    Thanks for the tip on siphoning, I always struggle with this during canning season. I have noticed if I leave the jars a little longer in the canner to cool it does help. However I thought this was a user error and I was doing something wrong. All of your little tips and advice help me more than you can imagine through my everyday life, when it comes to being a mom, in the kitchen cooking, or garden tips. I appreciate all of them!

      Learning from one another is how women passed on knowledge in the village days and it still works today just a little differently using a computer.🫶

    My mom re uses the cranberries from this canning method for her pineapple upside down cake in place of the cherries. We drink the juice and strain out the cranberries for baking. We do use sugar canning juice this way.

    When you said you were going to make cranberry juice I was so surprised at how easy it was. I absolutely love cranberries in any form but in the summer I occasionally like to make a cranberry cocktail. It’s so good and refreshing. Thank you to you and Warren and all of the farmers who work so hard so that we can enjoy the fruits of your labor…pun intended lol

    Yummy! I have a bag of cranberries in my freezer that I haven't used, could I make a juice similar to this by simmering the berries with water and just keep it in the fridge for a few days and use it like that, without canning it?

    Fun to see some videos but cranberry’s are a fruit that’s a once a year thing for most of us, they only sell them in the fall for a bit. Do people buy and freeze them a lot? Just wondering because you have lots of videos with cakes and desserts too.

    • @acountrylife
      @acountrylife  4 місяці тому

      Yes. Many people in my area stock up on cranberries for the freezer to use all year.

    Jennifer is there a way to make cranberry juice without putting them in some kind of water bath… If you were going to drink it right away, could you do everything you did but store it in the fridge or does it have to be heat activated?

    • @acountrylife
      @acountrylife  5 місяців тому +1

      It really has to be boiled so the juice comes out. You can always pour boiling water over the cranberries in the jar put lid and ring on, allow to cool and then store in the refrigerator. I’m guessing after 2-4 weeks it would be strong enough to drink.
