    My interpretation: you could walk on that carpet

      That’s not just your interpretation but was immediately obviously true. I was flabbergasted that none of them did it. It couldn’t even count as artificial grass - it was cyan rather than green!

      You can try arguing your case... Greg might allow it.
      Tactically here, it's a solid option because there's no points in the middle. If you look for shoes, you're likely up against 2-3 others who try to do it fast, so your odds to win would be 25-33%... minus the odds that someone hits it on the first bowl.
      Just declaring it a carpet is likely a unique move, and you may even beat a hesitant bowler. So then you're just up against Greg's capriciousness, which may well give you higher odds than 30%.

      This is the only justification for giving Mae the win, wearing only one gold shoe ("You must stay off the grass unless you are wearing the gold shoes"). I suspect they hashed this out but had to cut it for time.

    Alex is a master of exploiting association or halo effects/ mistakes. In this case, the assumption was that candidates will identify grass as the laid out artificial stuff over the tarmac/ concrete area of the yard, and forgetting to consider the natural green bits to be actually grass areas.

      @nederlanditisnederlanditis5529 Рік тому +2

      Placing himself on the artificial grass pad is kind of diabolical - it drew and focused their attention to that part. "Everything is written in the task" - such a diabolical reply, as well, because of the openness to interpretation if not ambiguity of wordings.

    • @ShaggyRogers1
      @ShaggyRogers1 Рік тому +1

      Just a simple misdirection to make people forget about the actual grass as well. Over the years, the show has very much taken to following the letter of a task as being much more important than the "spirit" of a task. However, when you are filming so many tasks back to back to back, like they actually do when filming this series, it gets easy to forget.

    This task would be impossible if the turf was considered grass as the pole near Alex and the bell touch it but aren’t golden shoes or the ball. Thus you may go on the turf.

    • @EssentialBlue

      Exactly! Alex after he removed his golden shoes didn't move from the turf.

      @@EssentialBlue I could be wrong but I think in the most recent series, one of the contestants asked Alex a question about his adherence to one of the task's restrictions and he responded "i can do whatever i want"

    So let me get this straight.
    Could they literally just have walked over to the bell right away without worrying about the shoes?
    Or did they consider the green turf as grass aswell?

    • @DocFunkenstein

      They could have, but they'd have had to convince Greg that it was a valid interpretation, so it comes down to whether you're prepared to risk his capriciousness and, potentially, fury. 😂

    They ALL should have failed, as the 'keep off the grass' sign and the bell itself were touching the grass, which weren't included the 'anything other then the bowling ball or gold shoes' list. Ivo also failed when Alex's socks/feet AND the podium touched the grass.

      That wasn't grass. It was a carpet. Technically they all could have walked on it regardless of what color their shoes were.
