I read somewhere that Kruppe was played by Erikson in their RPG game with Esselmont gamemastering. So in the Erikson books, we get him as Erikson meant him to be while in the Esselmont books we get him as the rest of the table experienced him

I'm reading Children of Time because of your review and I think it does a great job of "time jumping" within the same book.

I've never managed to finish WoT. I remember enjoying TGS but was just tired of the series. Now I have to go read Towers of Midnight just to find out what the heck happened with Lan. It's funny because all I remember of him (other than being Moraine's warder) is that his face was all "planes and angles".

Matt Dinniman, top tier comedy?
You said that you don't often get dislike for Wheel of Time, I'd hate for you to be deprived.
It's not a 1-star series; the writing is grammatical and there is a structure, if rather a Winchester Mystery House structure..
But it really struggles to reach 3 stars, even at its best. The characters are, charitably, unsympathetic. The main plot, when it is actually advanced, is obvious. The overall conceit is cliched. The world-building is nothing special, though many people seem to really like it. And the pacing is turgid.
Other than that, though....
As you imply, about your video the opinions expressed here are those of the author. I'm glad that the people who like the series found a thing they like. But it's very much not for me.
Perhaps if I had read this series at a different time, I would have a similar reaction to the fans. After all, I loved the first Dragonlance series when it was published, but now I can't read it. I am not the same person now as then.
And yes, I did finish it. One of its advantages as an audio book is that if you zone out for 15 minutes while you're exercising or whatever, you really don't need to rewind.
