Antibacterial agents + friction is exactly how our hands get clean when we wash them. Friction is very effective in eliminating dirt and bacteria. For example. Did you know that if you are in the woods and you get sap from a pine tree on your hands what to do? Washing with soap won't get the sticky sap off. But getting dirt from the earth and simply rubbing your hands together does. I have had this happen to me and my uncle is an Eagle Scout who taught this to me in the moment I needed it. 👌 I was blown away.
I am looking at these comments like what in the world? Does anyone do research or you just band wagon onto trends? The Himalayan salt stones themselves are antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial, making it a natural disinfectant, so it’s easy to clean. We Americans are so extra... do a little research or just don't use the stones... sheesh!
I would clean it with one small spray of the decon30 and wipe it off completely dry...if anyone answers your question, let me know. I am an Massage Therapist and purchased 3 sets so I would assume that if the plate is greasy you need to wipe it down, just like the stones.
If you have back to back Himalayan Salt Stones, after cleaning the stones and the unit how long would it takes for the salt stones to heat up again during your 2nd session?
I would recommend chatting with your health department regarding how to clean these. We are required to REMOVE oil, not just rub it in using a disinfectant. Also, the sit time for the disinfectant she used is 10minutes. So, that was ineffective for disinfecting. Overall, it appears to me that a health department or specialist has not developed this cleaning method.
if you are saying this you have missed the entire essence of what Himalayan salts are, what they do, and the properties that it has... do a bit of research and you will better understand exactly why the amount of time and product that she used is sufficient.
I don't see why the bashing of the Basalt Hot Stones, each has it's benefits. And the water in my roasters is re-used in my flower beds, also the stones can be heated by the sun, the way it was done by shamans over 10,000 years ago
Yes, that should be fine. As PureGreen24 is both EPA registed and can be used in a hospital setting. puregreen24.com/ However Benefect Decon 30 is made with whole essential plant oil such as Thyme oil which provides a low fragrant natural scent.
Awesome, thank you for your response. We currently use PG24 on Hot Stones, I may have to give the Benefect Decon 30 a try. The low fragrance part is good.
I would like to see your lab tests showing an 'abundance of negative ions'. Because that just isn't true. Yes maybe ions do something, but the ongoing studies of the effects of ions are using high-density corona-discharge ionizers which actually produce a measurable amount (and a lot of it). And 'bad electricity'? Electronic devices make noise, it's part of how they work. I doubt your shielding is going to do anything, and if it did it would be extremely expensive. Any heating element is going to make electronic noise, that's how it transfers energy. This is probably using a resistive heating coil and we even have a name for the noise produced: Johnson-Nyquist noise Let's not make unsubstantiated claims here.

Shouldn't we wipe down the base in the unit that the stones rest upon since the dirty stones had touched that before we cleaned them?
Yes, you certainly can. Feel free!

absolutely, have to do it especially if you returning stones to heater. One must make sure of no cross contamination.
Saltability,
RE: "Yes, you certainly can."
It's not a choice. If you contaminated something then you need to clean it.
Salt cannot hold bacteria but you can certainly wipe the base down and please make sure it is completely dry.

Heat also kills bacteria
Can a citrus hospital grade disinfectant be used?
Denise, that should be fine. Is the disinfectant EPA registered?
If we have back to back Himalayan stones do we have to wait for the base too cool down before we spray them with the decon 30?
No, it might take about 30-40 minutes for the unit to cool down so it is perfectly fine to quickly spray and wipe dry between services.
Do you need gloves or a cotton or soft cloth rather than our bare hands.
Would PureGreen24 work just as well as Benefect Botanical Decon 30 Disinfectant?

I dont think they are clean after she cleaned them

I think it would be best to use gloves during all cleaning.
