Amazing game. Finished it today. Breathtaking views, incredible music, packed with feels. Such a relieving break from the typical western aaa, far superior to many.
I was so happy for Qingshu when I saw the Apple moving and glowing in the end. They deserve to be together. I hope there's dlc and we can see more of them.

I hate cliffhangers because it causes a lot of people to not realize its not a sad ending after all!! the elder deity said that deities that fall in love are to be punished, but then she asked Qingshu if she wants to become an immortal as a reward, but Qingshu chooses Xiu Wu instead, so there is also the idea that deities been known to make exceptions especially preventing a catastrophic crisis, the elder deity must have lied that Xiu Wu could not be resurrected to test Qingshu's love. either that or elder deity is ignorant of what Xiu Wu is capable of, being the first New Deity created by Fuxi, deities created by the Emperor of Heaven may have different rules ad exceptions for New Deities. its confusing so did the elder deity lie or she is oblivious to a new deity being able to resurrect itself just like Xiu Wu used his own will to float and take energy from Qingshu in the beginning to restore his deity form. theres also the idea that elder deity mistakened the fruit form for death, and Qingshu's expression during the glow confirm she knew Xiu Wu is alive all along and will be restored. also when loading a stages clear save, it starts at the main quest "the glow", so thats another hint, plus the credits showed first the time Qingshu found the fruit, and then a scene of Xiu Wu carrying her. the glow says it all however still I feel the impact would have been greater if they made the last scene have him restored and they embrace. people having to point out what really happens is the devs job.
Glad you guys like the game. I played Sword and Fairy since its first game and there are LOTS of story clues of SNF2,3,4,5 in SNF7. For example Master Yuxia was female leading character in SNF2 called Shen Qishuang. She was a crying girl back then but now look at her. Another female leading role Su Mei turned back to a fox at the end of SNF2 but you can find her(a red fox) in SNF7 in Xianxia sect(Side Quest). Part of Chinese players criticize the game but I'm having fun through it.

@@MikeFringe Unfortunately only Sword&Fairy 6 has official English localization and the localization in that one is even worse than 7's 😅 If you want to know about the other games, I'd suggest watching playthroughs of them where the streamers translate the dialogue for the viewers.
When Master Yuxia takes out her Sword of Cyan Ice, nothing but chill! So much memory of that sword.

For those curious Xiu is the apple and it starting to glow indicates he is finishing recovering.

Am I the only one who wants the game to have a movie/series adaptation? 😭😍 The plot is really amazing and it was fun playing yhe game! The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger but we all know what happens at the end. It was not a sad ending y'all at least 😭 the devs team leaving the rest to our imagination. First chinese game I've played so far 💓 but definitely the best in terms of visuals, plot, and characters!
it most likely will get a drama version. Chinese Paladin 4, Chinese Paladin 5 sequel, and Chinese Paladin 6 are all getting a drama version according to mydramalist. Although the story in this game is rather just a straighten story without much profundity, it will definitely get a drama adaptation.

I really loved the game and especially a couple of a mortal and a deity with bittersweet happy ending
bittersweet endings are tragic, though. bittersweet would be something like FFXV or Final Fantasy Tactics. SaF 7 ending is actually completely victorious cause all the party members survive, and Xiu Wu will be fully restored seconds after the last scene. at a glance, SaF7 ending seemed bittersweet if people overlook the signs that they all actually win. sure there been casualities outside the party, but even all the main heaven demons survived, the badass demon lord survives, the kid survives, there is rebuilding, both couples will live in bliss. this story completed on a much higher note than various JRPGs that are total tragedies compared to this. now if some japanese or western devs made a story like this, they would have killed off most of them. now Sword and Fairy 6, that was bittersweet, even though that left a bad taste with how things turned out despite the party's condition being 'ok', really dark things happened, and can't really say they are happy cause they lose so much in the process. ignorance is not bliss and SaF6 is a tragedy compared to SaF7.

I would gladly switch 90% of AAA western shite for more of these games - this has to be one of the top 5 underrated games of all time. what a ride! really reminded me of crouching tiger hidden dragon

this game could be a 10/10 for me if not for the sad (sad but it's not a bad ending at all!) ending T_T, well at least Ayo and Moqing are married UwU (but yeah at least show them together in the end goddamit!)

That was a very..... Classic Chinese Paladin/Sword and Fairy ending
Aka somber, bittersweet, either everyone except 1 person is dead, or 1 partner being dead/comatose etc. Expecting a happy ending from a game in this series is just waiting for disappointment. Yet I've fallen for it 7 times.
9 times for me :P Well nah, I haven't fallen for it since I already know how endings are in these games. At least in 3 and 3 Side Story, there are different endings and one of the endings is a happy ending.
actually SaF7 is a happy result comapred to many JRPGs and WRPGs that are dark and tragic. SaF7 is a total victory for all 4 party members especially if you realize the fact Xiu Wu can and will restore his form like before. even though SaF7 doesnt show what happens seconds after the glow, the happy ending is there beyond what is seen. its kind like the Star Ocean 3 Maria romance ending, Maria says somethings, there is no peak of romance development shown but its obvious what happens next with all the obvious hints. also Xenosaga episode 3, its obvious where Shion and Allen relationship would go despite the ending cutting off where they were just holding hands. and unlike Xenosaga 3, its obvious SaF7 future for these party members is bright and ideal. these devs are not so sadistic compared to other devs. Yoko Taro games makes SaF7 story ending looking like a utopia springing up in a matter of seconds.

Omg i love the story plot of the characters. The ending my gosh, im getting attacked, my heart pierced, by yet another chinese sad romance storyline. Like all the other sad endings of chinese dramas i watched. SIGHHHH.

P.s.s if u understand chinese, it gets more heartbreaking (btw some eng translations were not detailed enough to express what was said in chiness)

its not a sad ending though because the glow confirms Xiu Wu will be fully restored like in the beginning. Yue Qingshu's life with him will only go up from here. now SaF6, THAT is a sad ending. FFXV, Nier games, Drakengard, etc. make SaF7 look like Sleeping Beauty.

Yeah that means when this game gets made into a drama series, people are gonna know what to expect already: A sad ending. I think the only sweet ending was Chinese paladin 3. All the protagonist from 1, 5, and 7 lost a loved one or loved ones. I’m not sure about 6, 2, or 4 as I have not seen them yet.

Pretty sure it's impossible to beat Aoxu unless you've stockpiled a large amount of hp and MP recovery items beforehand. Made the mistake of not doing so before the final stage checkpoint and now im too lazy to go back and replay the final stages all over again lol
I bet, some crazy Asians could beat him with no hits taken, like they always do in any games, 😆

I'd give this like a 7/10 the bugs where my screen went black multiple times, the English translation on some of the puzzles left me clueless. Boss fights were unmemorable and I feel had bad game play mechanics. Turn immune to damage then one shot you or do excessive damage
I just beat it today such a good game! But i do wonder did the grandpa pass? And is Yue imortal? Just some of the dialogue makes me wonder.
She said "he doesn't need the medicine anymore", he died. Yue is a deity. I think, the goddess was so kind to give hime another "life". Happy ending, other words. May be DLC incoming :D
The art looks great but the text is too small. It's almost impossible to read on small screens.
Think there's an option to increase the size of the text.
You can make it large and extra large in the options.

You cannot avoid that. What you can do is use magic attack twice and he will be stunned.
I just kept dodging until it went off. I feel like this guy plays on story mode. My entire party was dead by the final.
