This is my fault! I should have went more in depth with the spear explanations. You are correct. The better option would be the keratin spear with enfeebling skewer. Keenly jagged isn’t terrible. It will just refresh your bleed stacks but doesn’t stack with the butchers keenly jagged bleed. I’ll pin this. Appreciate you pointing that out.
I love this build. Been playing it since the expansion release. I use bleeding sweep on my spear and with everything set up perfect have been able to get the bleed up to 1700+ a tick. Tons of fun and really mean in PvP too when you know you have enough bleed stacks that you can just walk away as your target falls over. I do prefer leeching or enfeebling on my ring as last time someone showed me the math, bloodletting on a ring will only proc one more tick of bleed and usually you are coming back through your rotation way before that bleed will run out.
I just put this build together with a 698 gear score and not quite all the perks you mentioned but you are right it does INSANE damage!! From going to a tank to this is a crazy damage jump!! Not cheap to put this together but well worth the money!

My main has always been heals and I'd tank on occasion, but this video motivated me to put a DPS set together and try this out. Ran my first Mute as a DPS and I must say, I felt pretty freakin good out there. Granted it was just a PUG M1, I was only averaging 5k DPS but seen spikes of 10-11k, is this about right damage wise? My regular M3 group members will be surprised when I tell them I'll DPS the next M3, especially since I've always told them I'd never go DPS lol. Thanks for this!
Yes, it’s still good. I haven’t really seen anything yet that indicates it won’t be good after new world aeternum, but we’ll know after the patch notes drop.

So, the description for Bleeding sweep says that it does 28%/14% of weapon damage for 8 seconds. Using English, that means that no matter what...it does a total of the given % in 8 seconds. Where as a perk like Keenly Jagged does 10% weapon damage PER second for 6 seconds (which can be extended with other bleed perks)
Gemslot will ALWAYS be better in any weapon that doesn’t have one already. By a lot. Huge margin between that and anything else. Do not put trenchant rend on butcher. Legit just always run diamond
The recommendation for trenchant rend was made because of the gem changes. At the time those changes were on the PTR and I wasn’t sure how that was going to affect live. Just as I said in the video.
leaping srike is a most have you have no gap closers acc of rng haste/dodge that´s not anuff in my opinion i have this upgraded but it´s in a bad spot whne you have to remove so much you been using for the last 2 years i would say atm most of this builds are. I dont know buffed and nerfed way to fast for it to be fun know many people that quit for a 30 days now nothing for them to do before s4 and they are dispointed of the nerfs and how unbalanced the game is and it´s pretty clear they whant to drain the econemy witch olny hurt new players now they gonna go back on S-H perk 7 sec and they did say they gonna forward slower but for me i liked the game more before the dlc now the whole game is in a wierd spot feels like gw2 all over again to much shange in game is not good.
Well I m starting to hate this kind of videos. My single point is that people actually spend their shit on this and still cannot perform in M2s not even M3s! I respect the fact that you ve spent time on this but this works on 1v1 pvp and its not for dungeons and general PVE in order to be effective. So my question is simple, how you gonna counter GS/Spear build which is still hard to use and its the simplest one with 22k dps (44k on my build at 67 CON) and I mean literally on hit per second! with 16k max with all those bleeds? I wont mention my bleedrapier build which I get close to 94k/sec. Hrodgir has even more, then man who invented it! Aside the damage its not effective, except the troll M2s, where it can find some use! Again I respect your time spent but this is bad info. My suggestion is to roll back to basics since the game has changed and you can make in-depth videos for hatchet/spear to actually help some people play correctly and enjoy the game!
lol you have 0 idea what you’re talking about my guy. This build does a ton of DPS and works great for any mutation level. You’re the one giving out bad info so it seems 🤷♂️
If someone can't perform with this build in M2's, then its the player, not the build... Not anywhere in this video has he said it is the "best", nor how much "better than it is" than other builds. Take a seat...

I count highest damage 5411 +16 dots bleeds+runeglass 451~550smth. My GS run on 16k+change + 23 dots 687~1183(lets say 750 neutral counter mobs) Spear is running on 13k+same 23 dots on 357dps. I have a complete build 700 GS missing harnessing x5. M3 counter. You ll prolly use stacked team for this, so I used mine. Normal gold M3 not a speedrun, on 31.11 minutes. I m really eager to see what weapon you ll leave out. Its fun build yes, tons of dps not even close imho! I would use it in Genesis Nature+Savage+Mage hunter as an alternative.
@@liljackson6461 Rapier/IG-VG-Bow-Spear and GS with all of the above. PS My main weapons are Rapier and GS and all these builds are based on Attuned Pants with shirking energy last perk(stamina perk). Even trying Flail with Rapier these last few weeks to see how I can boost the dps/healz/weakens on M3s. Survival is the best DPS you can get imho!
Why would you want Keenly Jagged on the Spear? It doesn't stack with The Butcher. Wouldn't it be better to have Attunement?

New to the game and really wanna use the spear in PvE. will the incoming update nerf this in anyway or is it fairly future proofed?
Spear will still be a very strong weapon after October 15th.

Butcher/Spear is top notch in OPR and Arena. But the build looks different than the pve build.

Spear Finisher / Rapier is better! Maintaining +15% damage with 100% uptime as everything is bleeding all the time!
The finisher is definitely the highest single target DPS in the game. But, I love the butcher build. It’s a lot of fun!
