Damn Jack Crawford is so badass in these scenes The way he chases any leads stands up for clarice and encourages her to keep pursuing the case even after being taken off
Its like watching silence of the lambs again just diffrent playwright. 1 was 8 in 1990....when this movie was maid but the filiming they used in these scenes god lookin at this in 2024 seem like i was back in the 60s....Time catches up....
I just saw a video on Dead Meat where Hopkins says he added that noise after the famous scence of eating the census taker as a joke and thinking it would be cut
You're right, especially because the scene makes clear that their patients are not violent. But Crawford didn't persuade him. He blackmailed the doctor.
16:23 reminds me of The Joker in TDK escaping in the police car. Also interesting that he’s humming “Beautiful Dreamer”, which plays during the “Omelette” analogy by The Joker in Batman ‘89 (Which also stars Tracey Walter, who plays Lamar in this film and Bob The Goon in Batman ‘89)
4:25 I believe that’s John Douglas. I think Jack Crawford was based off of him and he wrote the book that later became the Netflix series Mindhunter. He retired from the FBI in 1995 after 25 years of service.
Totally💯 My daughter 29 say when i tell her to Watch a movie!!! Dad its Old??🫣 Last one was Fallen with Denzel Washington ??? 90 something?? She was born 95?? 😂 YOU ARE OLD DEAR??!! They never get Old!!
just realized how many political powerplays were going on inside the FBI and Justice Department surrounding the Buffalo Bill/Hannibal Lecter investigation - you didn't get this from the original cinematric version! But although they cut out so many great scenes, the final movie still is a masterpiece. Although shot between late 1989 and mid 1990, the whole film feels like a late 70s/early 80s picture - they didn't even use any new cars, infrastructure or buildings...

Timeless. Ageless.
Some of those scenes should have been left in the film. It's a shame so many of them were left on the cutting room floor.
The way the red light comes in… 10:39 so scary I love it
He empathized with buffalo bill right then and there, put himself in his shoes, so as to understand him.
Thank you so much for this video. It’s so, so great to see this ❤

They should have definitely kept the scene with Crawford persuading Danielson it was great
