I bought mine new in 1991, and it's still going strong with only 49k km on the clock. Has new wheels, a new tan softtop, KG guage cluster from rspeed, wooden shift knob, handbrake and matching wooden Nardi wheel. Ordered with no power anything (other than the brake booster) so lightweight and with the best steering feel you can imagine. Next treat I shall give it is a replacement centre console from Moss Miata (what a nice name! No relation though...)
One more thing. That "style bar" will not protect you if you flip one. I know it's not likely you'll flip it. But still. I can't believe the difference a rollbar and a rear stabilizer. It's so chuckable.
I know this is an old video. I just bought a 1992 Miata, for $1,800. I got a hard top thrown in, as well as a car cover. For no extra charge. It it's in mint condition.
He probably got a hook up with close connections because the hardtop itself is easily over $1k and the price will keep going up over the years as it'll be harder to find one in those model.
The first generation Miata has always been my dream car. Right now I'm 17 and recently bought a 1998 Toyota Camry. I love that car, it's probably one of the most reliable cars in the road, but a 1991 white Miata is for sale near by for $3400. It is in beautiful condition. I have a few questions before I check it out. I plan to replace the head unit and speakers, so what are my mounting options for the stereo? I'm 6'2 with normal proportions, I weight almost 200 lbs, am gonna have problems fitting in this car?
No, you should fit just fine! The seats slide back a decent ways. Also, the speakers mount in the headrest and there are plenty of head units available but you'll have to buy a replacement trim piece that can be found on Moss Miata.
I'm 6ft 2", 216 and fit just fine. Check into foamectomy for the drivers seat cuz that might help abit, I did it. I replaced the factory head unit with an alpine, retained the cubby in din #2, fit a MRVF-300 alpine amp behind passenger seat with a equalizer velcroed right above it. This powers some 6X9's in boxes behind the seats and of course the the door speakers. Im running Rockford Fosgates perfectly matched with amp power, have 4 gauge power and ground in and out of amp. The sound does not distort, only the ears. Cheap and fairly easy.
If you need tips or advice on mods, I have researched the shit out of this car and have done alot of successful mods and work to my 97. Email: onevision1@live.ca
Doug Sogge thanks soo much!! Since I post my question I have went to test drive the car. I fit perfectly fine... But now I have another question. While test driving the car steam(not smoke) came out of the hood toward the rear... Has anyone had this issue and does anyone know how to fix it.
HeyThisIsGraham wat if it’s auto should I wait to see if I could find a manual, ps. I’m fine with either one honestly that’s not something I care about.
Kids today think 150.000 miles and 25 years are much. That is when a mercedes begins to be comfortable. You can drive every german car over 500.000 km and that are legit also for small engines.
im about to buy one for around $3500 with 200k miles is it a good deal or not? Im from Costa Rica so its not as cheap as in the US. And it will be my first car so I need help haha.
The editing is great, camera quality not so also the tilted camera is bit annoying. Also you are talking a lot but you are not really saying anything. You just say that the car is epic, not much else.
Coworker might sell me his for $1k. Thanks to the owner before him it can't work as a daily right away. I'm thinking once I get the money I'm gonna fill my truck with parts and get that Miata on the road, maybe one day autocross it.
Shouldn't be a problem for me, I live in AZ. Only way we see rust on a car is if it came from another state, which is definitely something I look into before buying a car.
w41duvernay You do realize the Ecotec engines are Opel and there 4 bangers 1.4l Turbo in the cruze nearly makes thr same power as my 21 year old Nissan hardbody lol KA doesn't have dohcs, VVT lol
I drive a miata over a mustang everyday
Bought my 1990 NA last year in November with 154k best driving experience I've ever had
You should take that stylebar out of there, it's more likely to bash your head in if you're in a rollover rather than protect you
It's a low mile one! I got a garage kept single owner from Georgia. Last year of the pop ups, I fucking love it.
It's so rare to find one that age that hasn't been "messed with"..
No kidding!

This is technically a classic car now. I feel old.
Well you’re old. The first 90s kid to 30 is soon upon us. Everybody is getting old

While I have a 2018 Club, I couldn’t resist buying and fixing up a little red 1990.

Aaron Bane how?
where?

I find all of this very hard to believe, a hard top alone can fetch that much. Besides I've never seen a mint Miata go less than three grand.
I bought a 1993 Miata for $500, because it's an automatic. Nice little run about, though.
Gross
@@chuyy__ i know I feel the same but 500 ain't bad thoe.
Jski automatic miata? for why ?
@@joekev27 to manual swap it
How did you get audio this clean? Your voice is so much louder then the wind
I miss my 90 miata :( it was the best car i ever had
Some clear audio for the top
Down like that!
It was pure luck, especially back then in my early days of automotive content! Lol

Matt Mayden Could be what they call the "dreaded water plug" on back of engine. Probably nothing major.
Miata the most beautiful design car made 👀❤
Why do you have they headlights up when they are not on?
Because it's more fun that way! lol
Because it's fucking cute
Punished Ragnarok, Granted, but they’re strange...
Because why not lol
I Dont get the mustang as a track car and the miata not lol. That miata would destroy her mustang on a track. Lol
For a first car should I get one of these? Or a Honda Civic si. I really like the Miata and there pop up head lights
MSmith47 Miata all the way!
HeyThisIsGraham wat if it’s auto should I wait to see if I could find a manual, ps. I’m fine with either one honestly that’s not something I care about.
Anor Londo DO NOT GET AUTO. You will regret it
Get the civic those are made to last forever, the miata is a fun car to drive on the weekend hope it helps!

I just bought a red miata and really like the little house slipper car.
Steering wheel is a bit worn for 120k
Van Van it's not bad for 25 years of sitting outside in the sun though!
Did he say it was rear engine? My 1992 Mx 5 is certainly a front engine auto.
I certainly did NOT say that it’s rear engined😂 I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I’m not that moronic. Lol
He said it's rear wheel drive, dude..
what crack u on?
I'm hopefully buying a miata friday with only 45k miles for 6500. it is automatic but i don't mind.
Just got mine last week with 140k on it for my first car for 1200$

if it runs and rust free, go for it
I got my first car a 92 miata back in 2015 and I already know ill never part with the car.
The editing is great, camera quality not so also the tilted camera is bit annoying. Also you are talking a lot but you are not really saying anything. You just say that the car is epic, not much else.
I paid £1300 for my 95 1.8L with about 95k miles and it looks better than that one
Chris Carr, Good for you.
Cars are hella cheap in the uk. Can't be compared tbh
Yeah im lookin at a 91 for 2,500 yup sweet little rides
@Burnouts&Buttstuff sure did buddy 😁
@Burnouts&Buttstuff stock right now man but i dunno yet
@Burnouts&Buttstuff any ideas? Wat do you do?
@Burnouts&Buttstuff oh damn nice sounds good tho cant wait to see 😊👍

Is a clean 92 with 69k miles worth $7000?
Sounds a little pricey, but you never know! The market is wild right now!
Do you get it
It's "poster child" not "cover child"!
I have one for sale

Be careful. These thing can be so rusty underneath that the car isn’t much of a car anymore...

Intro was cool. Athens, is that Ohio?
Thanks! And no, not Ohio! It's actually Athens, GA.
So, I take it that it's a fun car? Haha
I hate the car but I hate how the headlights look... Is thete a way to replace them?
That's the whole point of the car lol why even drive it if you hate it. Makes no sense
That's how the car was made lol why replace it? It's basically a classic already.

How can this car be awesome, with an underpowered 4 cyl engine? NO WONDER guys are swapping in ecotecs and LS motors.
w41duvernay you need to drive it to understand. Power isn't everything, especially not with these cars.
