I bought same machine this winter for this reason... Sadly been sewing since age of 3-4… 50+ years and I am SO intimidated by this machine! You are just breezing thru ur stack!

Don’t be intimidated, you got this! I’ve linked some videos I’ve made about the machine below. If you want to have a laugh check out the first time I threaded the machine. It’s not as simple as a sewing machine, but once you get the hang of it, it gets easier! It’s the same experience as learning zippers or buttons IMO

Do it! If you’re trying to keep to a budget check out your local thrift stores, Facebook marketplace, churches, sewing shops. Sometimes people are getting new ones and happy to part with their old ones! If you’re willing to spend $200 for a new one, I would highly recommend the Brother 1034D

Good job, you are a speed demon with that serger! Do you tie off the thread tail or just trim it? If just trim, do you ever run into an issue of the thread loosening up? I tie it off but that step is so time consuming!

If you start at the middle and end overlapping a little, you can just clip, otherwise you should weave in the ends

Thank you! I am all about efficiency, so I have found that starting on a straight edge, trimming the corners and then going back over the start about 2” and quickly getting off holds up. I have many sets from when I first started making them years ago that have still not come loose.
