I plan on making a fnaf security breach mod where theres a section under kids cove, an indoor waterpark, rotten and decayed, you interact with one of the pools, leading to a small cutscene where my oc, selena siren, slowly peers out of the water, her eyes covered by the muck and grime built on from years of rotting in that abandoned water park, Gregory would jump back, startled by selena and triggering her to attack due to the vibrations put off by gregory falling, she slowly crawls out of the water. Her mechanics would be that she crawls around, dragging her body along the wet grounds of the water park, occasionally stopping to feel vibrations through the ground so running is hardly an option unless to escape her, as she makes garbled sounds that are hardly recognizable as words due to the buildup of muck on her voicebox The things that could stun her would be a "faz water shooter!" A spray gun that if catching her by surprise would stun her for a few seconds, the other thing would be to turn on a few radios hidden about and turn up the frequency, there will be a warning at the beginning of the mod for loud sounds, because a high frequency sound is gonna work for her, due to her having grime over her eyes and voice box, the high frequency sound blocks her hearing, allowing you to safely get away, she also occasionally goes in the waters to sneak up on the player, the mechanic for the pools is that if you see her peeking out or her tail sticking out of the water, avoid the pool at all costs or she'll drag you in, which will lead to a jumpscare- Anyways I'll shut up about this silly little idea I had, thank you for reading!
Started binging some episodes after getting one in my feed and I like the content and the character art. Also it was quite whiplashing seeing the "We like Fortnite" Fred guy again after all these years
When I make my mascot horror game, I'm going to lean away from the whole idea of the place being abandoned. Instead, it's going to a popular attraction in a place called the Shadowlands. The attraction is mainly targeted to Shadows, a type of humanoid that loves mold, dirt, dust, anything creepy. Since ??? knew Shadows could regenerate their bodies, he asked the mascots to slice off the Shadow's head. (Don't worry, the Shadows like that.) Unfortunately for the player, the mascots don't know the player is a human.
Honestly making the ability to see a resource to manage actually has potential. If the physical act of collecting and placing lights could be streamlined or revamped somehow to be less tedious it would actually be cool. Maybe you can have it light your way like a normal flashlight when you’re HOLDING it, but then when the time comes to carry other things or use it in other ways you have to be smart about what to sacrifice when. There’s some good old foundational game design risk and reward right there, if you cut the unnecessary actions out
TBH Ive been kinda sitting on a bunch of models I made of my mascot horror ocs but I've been so worried since I don't know how to program. Guess I can stop worrying about that
Honestly this whole thing kinda just feels like a game jam with less heart and more trying to be the next big mascot horror game while not entirely understanding mascot horror, at least for the most part, some of these are actually pretty good and deserved recognition.
What's weird is that because of AI some of these "Made a Horror Game in __ Hours!" People just use ai to make all the images instead of making their own which, I get it's because of the self inplsed time limit but still
Gamejams, which these challenges basically are, have varying rules about pre-existing assets. Some require everything to be made from scratch, whereas shorter ones provide assets for everyone to use, or have rules for what pre-made assets can be used. So using AI is basically identical to just using a stock image, except it allows them to more closely realize their artistic vision. The developer literally doesn't have the time to create the image themselves, and it's ludicrous to expect them to spend half their budget commissioning a single image.
@@CheshireCad stock photos are taken and published with the explicit purpose of being used by others, plus stock photographers are compensated for their work. so they are quite different 👍
i look at it as not horror made for content, but as content made for experience. i don't think they should have been released, for the sake of quality control but to make a game in a limited timeframe teaches you a lot. it's definitely an impressive thing to me regardless of the quality, not that htis video is saying anything differently. just my perspective and i haven't watched the full video yet
Minced is weird I’m just hoping it gets better (maybe revisits the older chapters to make it more streamlined and maybe make the art for the mascots match up I mean look at it you have what looks like a choppy flash animation next to an attempt at a rubber hose cartoon and then the chicken guys who never really got a name are done in a “school slideshow” type “art” ) I like minced and think it’s gonna be great but it’s flaws are painful
I have my own game concept that's sorta in the "mascot horror" genre but it's more of an immersive sim taking place in one single huge location where you are a security guard on what is basically a space station resort, completing tasks around the location while avoiding most of your "colleagues" (each of whom have unique traits that require you to handle them differently) who are inexplicably hostile during the night but are friendly during the day and are aware of what happens to them at night. Basically sort of what I imagine Security Breach should've been. Of course, it'd take quite a bit longer than just an incredibly simple horror game meant to be done very quickly, but still. On the matter of Lumen, it is _phenomenal_ for games that rely heavily on dynamic lighting and/or being able to create light sources (like the recently released Abiotic Factor, it's honestly incredible to have a flashlight with _bounce lighting_ rather than just lighting a circle). For games with lights that are mostly static, baked lighting works just fine, though Lumen does increases the quality of the lighting, and using Lumen (or full raytracing) during development removes the need to bake the lighting every time you make notable changes to levels. Static lighting is turned off by default in Unreal Engine 5, so some developers probably don't think to turn it on and actually bake the lighting when Lumen seemingly does everything for them.
I feel bad for poly trying to keep it real and not make a marketable plushie for his game. Remember, kids. Money is not everything, but if you see a 50 on the floor, you pick it up with no shame!
on one hand i want to make a horror game based on the trauma i got from the mlp community but on the other hand i dont want to make a mascot horror game and that is the only way this thing will work the way i want it to unless i completely get rid of the horror part and just make it a mmorpg

I love your videos so much, I’m definitely gonna check out your game when it’s out
Dusky you should make a video where you rank every Preston's Hourglass Rap Battle.
A late release is better than nothing, I can't wait for the project to see the light of day XD
I feel called out- 😂
A lot of these look really awesome! I'm weirdly hyped for some of these. Can't wait to see your game!
Honestly this whole thing kinda just feels like a game jam with less heart and more trying to be the next big mascot horror game while not entirely understanding mascot horror, at least for the most part, some of these are actually pretty good and deserved recognition.
How did I miss a Glamrock Dusky video by a week-?
*gasp* the *bell..!*
Dusky just to let you know I love your videos
6:30 WHAT THE HELL???? SQUEAKS D’ CORGEH JUMPSCARE????
@@gemwolfz2860But in the context of the rules they're the same.
Your character looks fun to draw
What a fun promise for a video
i look at it as not horror made for content, but as content made for experience. i don't think they should have been released, for the sake of quality control but to make a game in a limited timeframe teaches you a lot. it's definitely an impressive thing to me regardless of the quality, not that htis video is saying anything differently. just my perspective and i haven't watched the full video yet
To keep with the theme, Dusky made this video in under 10 minutes!
Menced is not the first MEAT based horror game the first is meaty meat house (the game made by the bendy guys)
Why are my glasses lenses still thicker than yours 😂
Alt title: Five Nights at Mascot Horror.
Minced is weird
I’m just hoping it gets better (maybe revisits the older chapters to make it more streamlined and maybe make the art for the mascots match up
I mean look at it you have what looks like a choppy flash animation next to an attempt at a rubber hose cartoon and then the chicken guys who never really got a name are done in a “school slideshow” type “art” )
I like minced and think it’s gonna be great but it’s flaws are painful
Was not expecting a Mascot bro cameo this video
1:02 CAR WHAT R U DOIN HERE?!
13:45 look at him shake, here comes the rotten jelly bean
How dare you get me
Inspired to try and make a mascot horror when I don’t know how to code 🥲
I feel bad for poly trying to keep it real and not make a marketable plushie for his game.
Remember, kids. Money is not everything, but if you see a 50 on the floor, you pick it up with no shame!
1:02 IS THAT LUMPYFRESH’S CAR?!?!?
While Stinky's first chapter is complete pants, it's true, but the second chapter is AMAZINGly cliché, and I love it.
"we love mascot horror" we all said in unison, to our harmonius lord.
epic video! (its been 3 minutes since it came out i have yet to actually watch any of the video)
PRESTON AAA 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
CAR HAS BEEN SEEN CAR HAS BEEN SEEN
Fun to see mascot horror becoming more relevant.
The environments in Preston's Hourglass remind me a bit of Rapid Eyes. :O
Bro Wishbone games is actually such a good developer and hes so funny LMAO HIS GAME IS FUNNY
on one hand i want to make a horror game based on the trauma i got from the mlp community but on the other hand i dont want to make a mascot horror game and that is the only way this thing will work the way i want it to unless i completely get rid of the horror part and just make it a mmorpg
I remember my mascot horror game made in 30 minutes for content... It barely has a main menu and I could not even publish it for some reason ): Unrigged looks really cool! Super excited for it!
BAE GET THE POPCORN GLAMROCK DUSKY UPLOADED AGAIN
