Wow! That was 38 mins of awesomeness. I really like how organize you are with your collection, but their are also lapses ( such as random cards in random place in each binder) It makes for a real authentic collection and makes me validate my collection that it doesn't have to be perfect.I like how you display cards that have heavy sentimental value with you. I like that you also have random vintage pokemon things ( such as magazines & stickers ). this video inspired me to also show my collection as a whole.
Thank you so much for the comment!! I love hearing about others’ collections and that other people have organized in a similar way. I find the “randomness” part of the fun, as long as it is paired with some sort of organization like you said 😂. I hope you do make a collection video, I found it super fun to spend a morning doing! Thanks again for the comment 🙏🏼
This is awesome and not enough of it on YT. I feel like so many collectors are JUST investors, it's so great to see someone's personal collection and hear what certain cards mean to them!
Awesome to see you still have your OG stuff. I sold all my stuff about 10 years ago for dirt cheap because I needed books for college. One of the biggest regrets of my life. Pokemon and all my sports cards, stuff I collected for almost 2 decades. At the time card collecting was pretty much dead. Anyways the best part is you can always re-collect. Been collecting for the past 4 or so years with my wife. Its a good bonding hobby. And our son got his first card from a show over the weekend, so makes it worth it.
That’s awesome, thank you for sharing! It’s cool you are back into collecting now, and able to share what you loved in the past with your wife and kid today 👏🏻
Amazing collection! I had flashback with the legendary collection Growlithe reverse and Pikachu Expedition that I used to own as a reverse. Stunning cards, and it was hard to sell them. But I did so to complete the Base/Jungle/Fossil sets. I personally don't enjoy the E sets much, so i knew they would always be odd ones out in my collection. They have some stunning artwork, but the card styles always felt off to me. Small note, in the foreign section i don't think any of the cards are Korean. Most looked either western romanic or Japanese kanji (although chinese is possible too. I find it harder to distinguish that.)
Thank you!!! Awesome about your Growlithe and pikachu, and really cool that you used them to lead to a complete original 3 sets. That’s impressive. How long did that take you to acquire? And yeah the E-series sets are hit or miss for people. Thanks for the knowledge on the foreign cards…I have such a hard time determining exactly which language sometime.
@@NonedarkTCG i think it took me about 1.5 year. It was a slow burn, especially in the beginning. They are not NM sets, mostly chasing that bucket list kids dream. But i probably will upgrade some of the cards in the future to better condition ones now that the hobby has become more permanent and serious. For east Asian cards, an easy way to think about it is, when it is very structured with plenty of circles, it is probably Korean (애 and 오 are very common.) If it is more of a fluid style, but with lots of open space and small dots/characters, probably Japanese. And if the words and 'letters' are stacked and busy with not much space inside, it is probably chinese.

CGC is cheaper to grade and usually quicker to get back to you, but holds less value than PSA. So I save PSA for grail cards or cards I plan to offload, and I don’t mind doing CGC for cards I plan on keeping for my display/collection.
Hardest part about a sealed etb collection is keeping it sealed 😂.. I’m up to 11 currently.. 2 are base sword and shield, while the rest are from different sets to current

It's screwing up because lets say you want to buy a $500 card for your collection as you say you value looking at the cards right? Well if you held an etb for 5-10yrs chances are it will be worth potentially $500 or near the price point so something you paid like $30 for just helped you up your collection and get that $500 item that you preferred. It's screwing up because most collector know historically sealed always performs better than singles and the smart collectors wait for the sealed they don't care about to be worth something and use it too cop that special card they want. This hobby for sealed is a patience game and not everyone sticks around long enough to find out yes it's a buy and hold play but it almost always yields decent value/results for collectors. I hope you're around 10yrs later bro but with your sealed collection you're being reckless which is what burns out alot of people like yourself from the hobby@@NonedarkTCG
