The dude could play Thanos with no CGI
True.
Well now I'm imagining a movie with him and Josh Brolin. Damn, how great would that be?
Well, he needs to be purple though ;)
He could probably take out thanos, does anyone know what happened to the punisher? The next movie will show the next Avengers and he did act as Capt America for a little while.
Thanos Brother 😂😂
Admittedly, I used to kind of resent Jocko Willink from a distance. His whole brand of EXTREME responsibility felt pretty unhealthy to me, as someone who lacks a lot of natural discipline. I kept trying to white-knuckle my way through life, and I kept getting frustrated when I couldn't maintain extreme routines. I always felt ashamed that I wasn't an overnight SEAL. But over the years, I have learned how to pair Jocko's teachings with some of the don't-operate-out-of-shame elements of counseling, and I've learned how to take life one day at a time. And it's a path that's way more effective at inducing change, and I now appreciate Jocko as a pole on the spectrum of life change, rather than the dude I gotta be tomorrow. He's also gotten way funnier and more down to earth lately!
+Grady Smith What I found most fascinating about Jocko [first time I've seen him] was his grasp on leadership, and the weight of morality and all that. Meanwhile not appearing to grasp Potus' use of Twitter as a tactic, using the corrupt media and establishment's own weapons of narrative control back on them, stood out. So I think your observations on the extreme discipline/responsibility may show it a bit incomplete in being able to deal with some of the mess in poltics and media. Even though highly admirable and no doubt effective in military, I do think back home in the swamp it's going to take a scrapper.
Problem is why does one have to tie and going to foreign soils and killing foreigners as part of developing discipline and character? When the only thing that does is damage an angel the human Spirit potentially Beyond repair and then at that point what does it matter that one has discipline? A psychopath can have discipline, a serial killer most definitely has discipline. So on the whole, ultimately what does it mean? Is he suggesting that you have to participate invading foreign soils to develop discipline and character and successful future? No I wouldn't have an issue or take issue with any of this if it had nothing to do will taking legal action against people on foreign soil., because then it's really just about developing discipline and character through other means that don't require the initiation a force against others. Furthermore show me how it does it has not been car purchase monopolist interest the benefited or those that were forced to participate and taking risks to life and limb on the battlefield as well as regular civilians? Show me through a means by which we can measure the outcome of war that benefited the people as opposed to corporate interests?
@thewonderpig97 youth LOL oh, I can barely remember those days oh, does the fact that you know nothing of real history have anything to do with how you perceive my age? It seems as though that is indeed the case just another sheeple who is interpretation of history is that of the mainstream 4 sheeple consumption. Yes that that's all that's going on here and nothing else
@thewonderpig97 exactly, I think we understand each other now
@@JasonOfTGA I think it's because he uses more Sun Tzu and Machiavelli in his reasoning while Trump uses Alinsky. All books on tactics, politics, and leadership, but the approaches are radically different. I'll refer to Sun Tzu specifically since I'm more familiar with it than Machiavelli, but they're similar enough for you to assume I'm talking about either. Sun Tzu is top down with delegation, while Alinsky is bottom up. Sun Tzu also advocated engineering situations where you can have overwhelming force while Alinsky engaged in direct action to create conflict.
So, to Willnik, Trump antagonizing media types doesn't make sense to him because it seems pointless and I'll admit, if I were in Trump's position, I would think the same and wouldn't engage. However, Alinsky advises ridicule and to "keep the pressure on." So, he trolls the media and high-enough profile politicians to make them angry and make dumb decisions like Warren's DNA test. Defensively, Trump projects an "I don't care" attitude to the arbitrary rules and takes actions that directly fly in the face of what MSN says. Trump's a Nazi? He moves the embassy to Jerusalem. Trump will start WWIII? He negotiates a cease-fire with N. Korea. Trump colluded with Russia? Make Russia mad enough to pull out of the IMF and Russia builds mid-range nukes.
Now TDS people engage in Alinskyite tactics too via random twitter users and late night talk show hosts. The reason why they're not as effective is because their ridicule became stale. "Orange Man Bad" is the punchline to their jokes. Now, the key to a good roast joke is that it has to be based in reality. "Putin's cock holster" doesn't really work because reality doesn't reflect Russian collusion. Same with Pissgate dossier.
The man who inspired all the "Why I wake up at 5am" UA-cam videos.
*4 a.m.
4:34 AM Up Before The Enemy
He also have the best Instagram I've seen
4:30 am up before the enemy and flanking then while they sleep their dreams away
4:30 am, actually ;-)
This is what I assume a space marine would look like inside the power armor
They are in a green screen, the palm tree totally gives it away.
Master chief approves
Only the best
Joshua Kavanaugh is your brother named brett by any chance?
chapter master or primas for sure
First time I've seen him in color.
hahahaha
A V10 j
Jocko has enough jaw for three ordinary men.
It's hard to imagine two people more different in life experience and choices, personal history, and disposition than Dave Rubin and Jocko Willink, but this is yet another great interview where Rubin teases out the best and the most essential about his guest. There is no divide that cannot be bridged by people who want to bridge it. That such conversations are even possible is something close to a miracle.
Jocks is Earth’s final boss.
Lmao!😂😂😂. My woman is wondering why I just randomly started laughing in bed at 3:30 in the morning. That was a good one!
I think we will lose 😳 lol
1ST TIME HEARING ABOUT THIS GUY, AT 69 STILL LEARNING NEW THINGS SMILE
Jocko is built like a tank.
@@egocognis3055 Leif is a very very large man.
tank is built like jocko
As are all his SEAL brothers, this guy is not only tough as hell - he's smart as hell.
Of course. They wouldn't be there otherwise. Earning a trident is more impressive than earning a Harvard diploma for a reason, y'know?
That man is in touch with reality. Great conversation, Dave and Jocko.
In touch with reality? I've listened to this for several minutes. He believes America is acting with best intent whenever it invades some country, or bombs it, or imposes sanctions. I guess you need to delude yourself like that to join the US army.
I absolutely love this guy, I might not agree with with everything, but most of it though, however, his overall attitude and calm mindset on basically everything is so refreshing. He seems really grounded and confident, but this obviously cares about others.
In another lifetime, Jocko would've made an excellent "Attitude Era" WWE/WWF wrestling personality.
*_"LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, BROTHER..."_*
and that's the bottom line cuz Jocko said so...
Can you smell... what the freedom is cooking
But there's more of a degree of artifice and theater involved there. It's acting in a lot of ways. With Jocko,he's not acting-that's really him.
He is the person people who are sane should try to emulate.
Own your life, own the things that happen, take responsibility, admit your mistakes, be humble, push yourself.
Fuck yeag
Best "Rubin Report" I've seen yet! Thanks for posting. Outstanding!
Jocko is an absolute beast. Talk about wisdom that sticks with you.
There is no competition. Is best to buy both books, compare notes and change your life accordingly.
This person Jocko Willink you have in your world is a boss!!
Thank you very much Sir ! This is most helpful and encouraging.
Clean your bloody room and wake up at 5 am! ✔️
Exactly!
Failing that, picking up some of your clothes off the floor and waking up at 8:30 is a good start
Kyle better to clean your room after you wake up at 5am. Seams to be an easier way to get both those things done in that order😉
Seneca’s Adoptive Son Ha! I agree with you 😎
4:30
From my French perspective, with Jocko, you guys have an Outstanding National ( ONT) Treasure to follow...
great interview. huge fan of Jocko
Jocko, you hit the nail on the head when it comes to being a good leader. I hope your word will get out to future leaders...
I am going to have this one on repeat on a weekly basis! Such inspiration.
The man is a marvel. I enjoyed the book he co-wrote with a colleague, Extreme Ownership. Very smart and good man.
Jocko for President 2020
I'm pretty sure this is Master Chief unmasked 😜
sorry not true try commander that would be an 05 in the navy or a major in the others services army, marines, Air Force.
I want to see Jocko and Chuck Norris arm wrestle even with the risk of creating a black hole
Made me really LOL!
Good one.
Too risky......don't let it happen.
I think they took a picture of it recently
Chuck Norris is just Jocko Willink in disguise.
@@energeez Jocko addressed all of the Chuck Norris jokes, memes and comparison years back in 2016 by saying that Chuck is an actor and he's not.But he doesn't seem to mind the memes.
I'd like to see Jocko play guitar and release guitar videos with his discipline principles. That would be one hell of a guitar course haha!
i like the interview format. comfortable chairs, comfortable decor and lighting, and steady, extended shots. some podcasts look so awkward
Such an accomplished, optimistic and noble man! Thank you, Jocko, for bringing the good and encouraging it in others. Thank you, Dave, for bringing him on your show.
Great interview.
When he mentioned his children's book all I could think about was the scene from Major Payne and the story of the "Little Engine that Could." "Payne I can't feel my legs. That's because your legs are gone."
Jocko’s two podcasts featuring a certain JBP are excellent.
Thomas Braun he’s had him on 3 times
@@IEEteammateMATT1 *Desire to clean room intensifies.*
Mike rittland has some really good podcasts with JP
Excellent!!
Damn. Jocko is the wisest dude I’ve ever heard speak lol
Jocko makes the chair seem small
I love the interviews of the warriors of America
Jocko is a modern stoic.
Just bought all 3 jocko kids books for my kids. My eldest plays football and is one of the better players but is holding himself back to he greater. Hopefully these words of jocko will help him unleash the inner beast to take his game yo the next level
Go get some!
Excellent
When Jocko enters a room full of people you know it. And I quote Jocko I didn’t compete with anyone hell no he doesn’t have to.
I've never seen a more manly looking man in my life.
Notice he doesn't have a beard
Bryan L. Morrison he’s the only manly looking guy that would look bad with a beard
Love Jocko. So impressive. He mentioned on another podcast (I think with Andy Stumpf) that when grading fellow seals on paper, it was where you put the 'X in the box' i e. how far left or right in that box that sent a subliminal message, hence his tee-shirt I'm thinking. Just an observation! Some sad stories he tells too. G'day from Down Under.
Awesome
This is the kind of person that needs to be leader of countries. A man who has seen some shit and keeps his head straight.
I appreciate Jocko's perspective. I'll incorporate it in my daily life.
Ok, this is epic.
Watched the first & second part. But hey, it's great so I'll watch it again in full.
watch it again at 5 am
I can't wake up at 5am. I'm still up from the night before mowing beaver.
I agree, First, He is not a person you would want your daughter to marry. Second, America is bigger than one person. Thanks for a great perspective from you.
That chair is not big enough for Jocko's imposing stature
Matt Mac 😂
I'm glad this didn't start with a quote about dead children from Gulag Archipelago
Don't listen to his podcast then lol.
Dave, seeing that the movie Unplanned will be released soon, you should bring on Abby Johnson and have a dialogue with her.
Jocko for president, he is a great leader.
That’s awesome Jocko listens to hardcore music and metal. Would love to go to a show with him lol
"To infinity and beyooooond!!!!"
A little bit of everything indeed 😍. I feel I'm the same way
thanks for having army "guru' on your show
Jocko 2020!
Jocko for prez
100% badass.
Listening through headphones. 11:44 Close your eyes. Vince Vaughn.
I totally hear it!
jocko 4 prez
hes very intelligent on the ways of leading elite troops into battle and then can switch gears and show civilian leaders how to make their companies more profitable. pretty impressive guy obv.
That's so weird, I felt like I just started the video and it ended so quickly!
Big D-aura!
He makes that chair look real tiny.
You should totally get Stephen Woodford (Rationality Rules) on the show. He would be great!!
Awesome idea dude! If there's one thing that would improve Dave's show it would be talking to a dogmatic one-dimensional sophist, that's a winner for sure.
@@lachlanbell8390 Yeah! people Christina Hoff Sommers who specialize in a specific topic would be great!
You gotta have David Goggins on
Why did u release part 1 then make us wait for part 2 just to release this?
I think you need to define “Self” before leading. It seems everyone thinks they are supposed to
Lead. It’s like you’re a failure if you don’t go Alpha. I lead when necessary, it’s inherent. I worry
About those who think they are failures if they are not leading? This is a really important
Topic. Not easy to define a right or wrong.
Good.
When master chief takes off his helmet, he's actually jocko willink
Looks like mark wahlberg and vin diesel did a fusion dance.
This guy eats mark wahlberg
I agree.
JOCKO WILLINK FOR PRESIDENT!!! 🇺🇸
What is the song intro called?
Hey, Dave, can you have Justin Trottier?
Jocko Willink for President 2020.
2024: Jocko and Crenshaw.
Inspiring. A slightly different take on personal respinsibility than JBP's, but a compelling one none the less. Are his books good?
Yes. I've read the management books and my kids have read the kids books. They are all really good.
Still getting through 12 rules but they will be my next read, check out the episodes of Jockopodcast that feature JBP
I’d love to see jocko and Scott Horton talk
Jocko was borne at 4:30am and cried because he couldn't run and do pull ups
People see warriors or the sport or athleticly inclined people as meathead jocks ... its pretty fuckin badass that the people leading hard chargers like navy seals into battle are not only like superman athletically but also highly intelligent down to earth fuckin bad asses. People highly underate the warriors in this country. Oh and
FUCK YEAAAAH. NEW ENGLAND RULES
Keith- Boston mass. Woot woot happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Why are all the chairs that Rubin picks make him and his guest look like their sitting on children chairs ? How about some normal chairs Rubin!
Maybe shopping at "The Good Buy Barn" has something to do with it.
"god" bless.
Thank you :)
I wish Jocko or someone like him would run for office; I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. I'm tired of careerist politicians who are always apologizing for America and never getting anything done. Give me someone like Jocko, someone who champions and embodies ideas like perseverance and hard work, who isn't afraid to say how they feel. Someone who has served their country; someone who doesn't back down from a fight. I'm tired of Leftist politicians who are always telling people that the system is rigged against them and that hard work will get them nowhere; their words offer no redemption, no hope. People like Jocko, who have actually busted their asses to get to there they are, are few and far between in Washington. That should change.
History has for the most part, shown that military types make bad political leaders
There are exceptions to every rule but I'm suggesting this is true for the most part.
Good people skills, high integrity, hard worker, good judge of character, has above average knowledge of history and strong law background.
These are serious Presidential candidates , at least in my book and if he has military service, so much the better.
Jeffrey Hagelin, I believe Jocko checks the box for a lot of those traits. He clearly has a lot of integrity, he couldn't do the work he is doing now if he didn't have at least above average people skills, he is absolutely a hard worker, he probably is a good judge of character given a lot of the people he has worked alongside, and based on what I've read from him, he is fairly knowledgeable about history; he's not a historian, but show me a politician who is. As for the law background, yes obviously you want someone whose job it is to enforce and enact laws to know about them, but you don't need to be an Ivy League educated lawyer to know the law. Plenty of lawyers, people whose job it is is to know the ins and outs of law, become politicians. Not all of them do a very good job of it.
Garrus1995 I tend to agree with you. I’ve served with so many highly ethical, highly intelligent and charismatic people. I would encourage any of them to run for office if they had the inclination. IMO I believe there is a fundamental personality conflict for what it means to be a Soldier to what it is to be a politician. And if there isn’t, I’d be concerned. But overall, I’d love to see more veterans run for office, especially as Democrats. ( I’m not a Dem).
At 9:50 we all know you play fallout 4 jocko.😎😁👍
What is the name of this battle he spoke of? I can't discern the spelling
Ramadi
Only 1 hour? aaww man.
I hope and pray Jocko is rite when he says the Free people of America will tip the scales and make things rite if things go to far oneway or the other. Cause nowadays we need those Free Americans to force the government and media to do the rite things!
He should be an instructor for the KinderGuardians program. Arming children from 4-16 and training them to protect themselves and their school from active shooters. Look it up.
Steve
Did they even ask the question "what does it take to be a navy SEAL?"
This guy is current day Blazkowizc
hey Dave :) ppl won't let u win (fully) bc u look like u can use some more battle's. it is what it is. u theirs and u know it. wanna fight ?
A feminine man, and a masculine man sit down for a conversation. This is what that looks like.
HOTBALLZ I am not sure I’d call Rubin feminine. Sure he is gay, but he looks manly sharp in the suit and beard.
Dave Rubin is one of the manliest gays that I know. Great guy and great conversation. Jocko is a treasure aswell
Are you slow ??
Is that Jordan Peterson book still happening?
