If your DAAD interview is coming up, you probably are looking for some tips and insights on how to prepare for it. In this video, I talk about 7 things you need to keep in mind during the interview, all based on my own experience with the whole process. It is really helping me to prepare :) I am an outgoing master student (D -> DK), but I think it still gives a good impression of what might be important for the DAAD regardless where you are. Thanks for the insight. An applicant can apply to a maximum of 3 courses but some application documents can be only be submitted directly to the university office while some via online means. For some of those applications that are submitted directly to the office do I have to mention in my motivation letter about those courses whose application can only be done online provided that these courses are closely related but are offered by different universities? Just that the submission mode is different.

Hello!! I am probably going to have my DAAD interview next week, so I wanted to thank you for this video. It helped me a lot!
I'm applying for a different program. I'm studying engineering and I applied to a Volkswagen program called "Estudiantes Mexicanos en Alemania". That would be "Mexican students in Germany", which is a program to do professional practices in Germany. I already was accepted by VW, but now comes the DAAD part of the program. So, I hope I can have the scholarship.

Did the selection committee ask you some technical questions from your field, like the things you studied in lectures, or they asked you more broad questions? I am applying for a research grant doctoral programme in germany, I need to have a referee who could recommend me in this PhD program, My question is if I set an associate Professor as my refereee, would it harm my application!?

Hello ma’am I need your help , actually I want to know One thing that - - - I’m doing masters in applied chemistry I will completed my masters in 2021 till June and after that immediately I want to apply for daad scholarship so I want to know will I able to apply for daad scholarship ???? Without job experience??????????
Hello, thank you for your comment. So you can be able to apply for a scholarship after you finish your masters in 2021, however you can't apply for a scholarship that will begin in the same year (i.e 2021/2022) because the deadline has unfortunately passed regarding applications for studies beginning next year. You can however, apply for a scholarship for the year 2022/2023.
As per job experience, it depends on what the university and scholarship requirements are. I don't think it is always mandatory to have job experience (again, check with the specific university and scholarship), but it of course boosts your chances of getting accepted. Since you will most likely be applying next year, I would definitely suggest to take up any work or volunteer experience related to your field.

Hey! Thanks for the video, it is really helpful! I would like to clarify, whether it is mandatory to show them my German skills? I mean, I heard that in the beginning of the interview they always ask whether you would like to conduct the interview rather in English or German. The thing is, that I passed TestDaF in 2017, so like a looong time ago. And in the past 2 years I haven't practiced German, so my language skills dropped notably. Of course I am going to do some preparation to refresh my knowledge, but the thought that I could be tested really terrifies me...

I had the Interview on Wednesday (Dec 02,2020). It went pretty well :) Hope I´ll get the scholarship! I saw your video about your experience and it helped me to get confidence. Thanks for that.
I want to share the questions I was asked:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why Germany and Why the MSc course
3. Work and academic background
4. My future plans
5. Specific question about the program and my country
The interviewer was very kind and funny. So, my advice... just relax and be certain about your goals.

My scholarship academic requirement need s.o who speak German at C1 but should I apply and learnt it later ?
As per my experience, we were all required to meet the German level requirement before our DAAD scholarship interviews. This especially applies if the university you are applying to requires a certain level of German. But it won't hurt to send a message to the DAAD directly to ask about your specific case :)

Hey Dew. Hope you are doing well. I had my interview last week and I got selected but DAAD offered me 12 months of scholarship I think its strange as I applied for PhD. What can be the reason and what should I do? Please give me some advice

Hi I think the scholarship is renewed after every 12 months depending on you performance progress
Yesterday I received the result that I was awarded scholarship for 24 months. I didn't do any interview. I'm a little bit confused. is the interview process part of the application or is it selective? Also, they asked me to confirm my acceptance by sending a note via portal. Do I send the note from NEW MESSAGES under application and document overview? Thanks
Hello, first of all congratulations! Were you accepted for the "Master studies for all academic disciplines 2021/2022" scholarship programme?
CONGRATS! That's amazing. Maybe they did things differently this year because of the pandemic, or they've changed the process for some selective master scholarships. Either way, you've won it and that's what matters!! Also, yes you would have to confirm your scholarship via the portal. In my case, I had to download the "Declaration of Acceptance" and re-upload it via the portal. There should be an option on the left side of the screen that says "Declaration of Acceptance" or something similar.

I am selected for the daad scholarship recently how long next processing steps takes?
Congratulations on getting selected! 🎉🍾 since your studies will begin in October, you should expect a few emails and messages from them throughout the year. I guess because of the pandemic things are a little different now so I don’t know the exact steps you need to take but the DAAD will give you all of the info in due time ☺️

@@Fawwad1186 I gave the interview to the university and was mailed to upload my documents to daad portal, and I have been waiting for further response, what is going to be next and how long will it take?

@@simplydew_ Your English sounds pretty good. I thought that you're a native English speaker. I've just done with my interview. It was online. Although they mentioned in the email that it's going to be from 15 to 20 minutes, they spent with me 28 minutes. Anyways, it was a good experience even if I didn't do so good
