Napoli Futura: A Retrofuturistic Focus on the Neapolitan Downtown Scene

In the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, a future-facing scene has been developing that’s inspired by the history, spirit and geography of Napoli with many interconnected but unique sounds. In partnership with Audio-Technica, we visited the downtown area to meet the artists, DJs, record collectors and promoters who have been driving the scene forward and helping make it one of the most exciting creative hubs for dance music in Europe.
Featuring interviews with: Nu Genea, Futuribile Record Club, Mystic Jungle, Whodamanny, Milord, Soul Express, Napoli Segreta, Periodica Records, Basic Club and ThanksMate.

Napoli è una enorme caldera di storia, cultura, umanità, luoghi, che generano ciclicamente esplosioni artistiche,. I Nu Genea sono la più significativa e bella espressione di questi tempi, sono una novità assoluta, hanno una identità unica e allo stesso tempo ri portano inevitabilmente indietro nel tempo dove affondano le radici; evocano Pino Daniele con tutto il fermento degli anni del neapolitan power. Del resto in quegli anni successe la stessa cosa; la cultura si rinnovava partendo sempre dalle origini senza necessariamente abbandonarle dando vita a qualcosa di nuovo. Grandiosi !!!.
