Is this a British thing? Also sounds like the full opposite of a punishment. But working in a circus would be much more rehabilitative than most punishments.

The 17 YO boy's mum took the phrase that every parent says of "If you don't stop doing that I'll send you to the circus" way too literally.
That little boy Louis is too sweet and wise beyond his years. What a bright young boy. Parents should both be very proud they've raised such a self aware sensitive child.

So glad they got rid of the animals! Wish they had these traveling family circuses in America. I would've loved this as a kid.

The Northeast has a cool all youth circus called Circus Smirkus! Kids from around the country perform in it and it usually travels over the summer around June to August but obviously not this year lol. It also has a camp and outreach programs to get kids into the art. I have a few friends that have done it and I was impressed!

We had one come to town last year. I think they won't be returning though, someone took their dog last time. Got him back but man, they didn't seem as awesome as the England circus. And they had animals.

In my town there used to be a circus school, the building is still here, near to the gymnastics gym but sadly it stopped being a school many years ago. Some children who practiced their skills there used to go to my elementary school and my teacher told us that for a year she had in the class one of those kids and was astonished by her commitment both in the circus life and school, she said she was one of the most brilliant students in the class
We have a circus school in town & it still operates. Circus kids are always great students, I went to school with a few of them.

How do I become a circus performer? Do I need to have a relative in the business, or can I like audition?
I’m not a performer but I take circus arts classes and I LOVE them.
Marianiki2002 Strong I assume you can audition. Look for any openings online, or in person the next time you go to the circus.
I'm also a circus performer all my friends and cousins are from family circuses but I did notice there's not a lot of young performers anymore.
This reminds me of The Lunar Circus, which was a circus that my family would go to. They were there for 3 weeks and you could camp for those weeks. The first 2 are practicing times and learning to do things and helping set up, and the 3rd week was the shows. They were anything from teaching tricks like trapeze or juggling, to traditional circus acts, to the night-time adult cabarets and shows. There was just the best sense of safety and happiness, even surrounded by people you don't know. There was also a family that always lived with the circus who did acrobatics. It was just a great place with good memories. (this is in Australia, btw)
It's great to see amazing talented kids following their dreams. I love documentaries like this!
What beautiful families, and all of the children are absolutely wonderful. Love seeing involved parents, and especially love seeing such articulate, artistic, and well behaved children.
I really appreciate how much Brandon and all the rest of crew work together and fight for a certain goal. Very inspiring.

Honestly loving this series! It also makes me so happy seeing how well these kids are growing up and the loving relationships they have with everyone, both in-blood and in circus family.

i feel like there is too much pressure on little kids, especially the little 8yr old boy. He still has so much to do in his life so let him process everything and if he wants to ba in the circus, of course, but if he doesn't, that's ok. Let him do his own thing

My great grandma grew up in the circus. Her mom died when she was two and her Aunt took her in because her dad worked for the railroad. That's where she lived and went to school.
Would b fun for the kids. But hard work,but they still need to learn ,even if they do home schooling.

I’m a contortionist but it’s not my job my mum thinks I just do it for fun. I don’t think my Algerian dad and French mum will approve of me working in the circus, and I also want to be an actress in films, I did my first acting show at 8 years old. I’m pre-teen by the way lol

You have heard about child actors and athletes before. Honestly this all sounds better because they are with family and looked after and loved. And that's not always the case with the other because the parents are right there working with the children. Not just living though them or just living large because of them
