Still using a SuperCube 6000 from about 10 years ago now, thing is a beast but Ive been wanting MOAR! This thing looks legit and its the same price I paid back then. Nice review my dude!
Great review as always! crazy numbers for a 12. What impresses me the most is the sealed response. May be less output vs the ported, but almost ruler flat without any DSP. Add a second D4000, bombs away! Your thoughts....the amplifier is very powerful, RMS power, and the exceptionally high peak output compared to most other subs. Could this be special sauce that makes the TW's so damn good?
Thanks brother, always good to hear your thoughts. It could be, their DSP also seems to be very well done. Whatever they are doing, I would like to know, because it sure is working.
I often see criticism for no magnetic grills on subwoofers but most companies don’t use them on subwoofers for a reason. I only really see them on specific subwoofers that have a different style grill that are both friction fit and magnetic. If its a regular subwoofer grill then they normally use peg’s so the grill stays put and doesn’t rattle.
I agree, that there aren't too many subwoofer companies out there doing magnetic grills. I can't agree with you on your reasoning though my friend. Most don't do it because it's a little more difficult to manufacture and still have it look clean. The magnets need to be recessed in the cabinet with the finish over top. This adds time and cost. I currently own the JTR CAP2400 18" subwoofers, that are down right violent with their bass. The magnetic grill is held on with nothing but the magnets. JTR subs aren't really budget subs, so they provide those types of "luxuries" lol. There are many other subs that do it the same way, but all the ones I know of are a little pricier versus something like the Tonewinner.
@@SpecOfTech yea, I don’t know many subwoofers that have it. But a bunch of speakers do. So, I think it’s safe to assume that it’s subwoofer specific for why it’s not done. Hey Barrett, could you please tell me if this D4000 can play frequencies the same way, in low and high volumes? I mean, are low frequencies audible even when volume is not cranked up?
The D4000 is very similar, it just doesn't have quite the same output as the D6000. The D4000 has slightly less extension from about 15hz down vs the D6000. The D4000 rolls off faster than the D6000 below 15hz. Other than that, you are looking at just a couple less DB in output.
Thanks brother, I appreciate the support. I get what you are saying. But I wasn't saying that this 12" subwoofer kills giant subs like 15" or 18". I was saying it kills other 12" subwoofers that are "giants" in the 12" subwoofer game. Like the 12" SVS subs or 12" Klipsch subs. It's a killer of the giant name brands essentially ;).
They perform very similar, the bigger one just has a little more output. Other than the bigger one have a little more output, they are VERY similar in all other regards.
I might sell my X15s and get sealed where I do more music than movies nowadays. What do you recommend in canada of course around the same price of the X15. Martin logan 1600 I was looking at.
I doubt you will get much different performance from the Martin Logan, they are associated with Paradigm, so most likely very similar performance. Why not get a subwoofer that offers a sealed mode like the Tonewinner D6000? You aren't like the X15 for music?

The D2000 isn't a sealed subwoofer, just wanted you to make sure you are aware. The Tonewinner D4000 can be used in sealed mode and is close in performance to the SVS PB3000 in sealed mode. I would recommend the D4000 in sealed mode.
@@SpecOfTechGreat, thank you, brother!
Pretty good
Man that's impressive makes my pb-2000 look like amateur hour
lol, these Tonewinner subwoofers are no joke. I can't believe their output for their price. They have a real budget winner on their hands.
@SpecOfTech reminds me of the amps my 7300 still going strong after 3 years. Incredible company.
The PB-2000 PRO out perform this Sub at the same price point. (108.1dB@20hz) without room gain.
@anonymous007advice I dont have the pro I've had these since 2018. And get nowhere near 108 dB and my room is 14x14x7
@anonymous007advice not sure what you mean about price my 2000 were more money than the TW
Wondering how the RSL speed 12s would do against it ?
I hope to one day get one in.
Love the content!! Keep it coming. But no 12" is a giant killer.
When you say compress does that mean distortion?
Not, it means the DSP is limiting the output to help save the driver from being over driven.
I went to purchase D4000 and here in India we get only 1 year warranty, so I had to back off. Glad you guys are getting good warranty.
How much price? Where can I get one?
@@Lalosalamanca1122 Where are you from in India?
@@siddhuy315 south india, chennai
@@Lalosalamanca1122 I did WhatsApp the number for warranty information.
Please how does this, and the bigger one perform with music?
They perform very similar, the bigger one just has a little more output. Other than the bigger one have a little more output, they are VERY similar in all other regards.
Sorry, I'd like to add: does the price difference worth an upgrade from the 12 to the 15 inches?
@edwarddiogu6377 It's worth it for larger and/or open rooms yes. For a smaller dedicated room the 12" should be fine.
@SpecOfTech just that sealed is better for music. I love the X15 but people talking about the kick get get in your chest with sealed on music. I don't get any kick movies or music. Crazy bass but don't feel it in my chest.
@@jamiesmith8307 If you are looking for kick in the chest. Just wait a bit, there may or may not be another new subwoofer coming out, that will provide EXACTLY that. I can't confirm it 100%, but if it releases it will be a dual sealed 15" that kicks like a mule on steroids.
@SpecOfTech ya but how deep will my pockets need to be?
@@jamiesmith8307 It won't be too much more than the X15 retail. Maybe $300-$400 more, give or take.
Barrett on that subwoofers review grind lately 🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
Haha I got sent 3 of these Tonewinners for review. Trying to pump them out as fast as I can while working 12 hours a day up North. No rest for the wicked audiophile lol.
Tone winner,, nice! Might have to buy a few and sun them in my 6 sub system now where I use two pb3000 ! Got them from Amir before too!
Good review, tone has good stuff, just the name, that people don't like!
I have 3 of there amps as well, there good starter amps, but replaced them with the Anthem gen2, but I put them in my other systems yet!
