I do, however, fancy AJ in that match-up.
AJ has performed better against the guys they've both been in with (let's not count the MMA guy), but that only speaks to how devastating AJ can be.
Fury is a tricky animal, and he's incredibly clever inside the ring. Landing on Fury isn't as easy as landing on, for instance, Wallin.
That said... Wilder put Fury down hard. Wilder isn't the boxer AJ is. I also don't think he has the power AJ has.
If AJ were to get that clean a hit on Fury that'll be all she wrote.
Wallin literally landed heavily frequently on Fury. Fury's defense is so so overrated considering how many times he touches the canvas against less than stellar opposition, in his prime years aswell. @themarkdoubleu

I disagree with the title. Boxing doesn't start and end in the UK. I wonder what he means by casuals. Instead of saying Fury's praise singers and UK fans with wounded egos want to see the rematch like next week. Yes the belts are on line in a rematch, but the boxing world NOW wants to see Fury vs AJ. The world is watching too. After all, AJ and Fury have now lost to Usyk.

Turki Alal-sheik knows the British people like money a lot, and uses it to somewhat carry out his fantasies and in some sense to even ridicule the so called boxing authorities and the logical order. When the Ngannou rumour came up, it sounded like a joke at first, but he made it happen. They said it was mere entertainment, before we knew it, Ngannou had another shot at AJ. That's straight to the top. When money talks, bullshit happens. I even see the Fury vs AJ fight happening instead of the rematch. He threw 100million each at the Usyk fight. He can throw 200mil or more, if necessary to circumvent the rematch. The money calls the shot. The Saudi prince from his interview also wants the Fury vs AJ fight as soon as can be feasible.

I don’t know many true fans who crave Usyk fury 2. Usyk is 37 and is already slowing down and Usyk won 7 rounds to Fury’s 5 and almost knocked him out. We’ve had the fight and Usyk won clearly. These rematch clauses are holding the division back.

Fury was arguably in the shape of his life and lot of people believed that Usyk could win. When Usyk beat Joshua for the first time a lot of people thought Usyk wasn’t that effective at heavyweight.
Usyk was the one who fought for there to be a rematch clause in the contract so he only has himself to blame, a rematch is happening like it or not

Those 3 fights with Wilder took some out of Fury, out of both of them. AJ’s jaws is no less suspect. Fury could land a good shot and hurt AJ and he will turn into a pussy cat.
Fury had Usyk hurt a few times. That’s why he kept fighting the way he did, he was hoping to just keep winning rounds and eventually land something that would put Usyk down.
If he would have let his hands go more he may very well won the fight. AJ on the other never had Usyk hurt or down on the cards.
I will say this, AJ looked like he had gotten his confidence back. And that was before he KO’d Ngannou.

Usyk was strategic, he let Fury work in the 4th 5th 6th and gain confidence, he threw arm punches and Usyk looped his shots on counter, gave Fury 4 5 6, he survived 10 11 12.

Rubbish! Usyk beat Fury fair and square. He KOd the man and the ref saved him. Even one of the judges attempted to steal the win from Usyk and give it to Fury. Usyk beat AJ and beat Fury. He is the guy at the crescent of the heavyweights and should now retire and go down in history as the best heavyweight to ever do it. Retire undefeated after cleaning out the devision, fighting the most skilled guys in the devision, 40lbs heavier than himself. Real fans of boxing will understand that we just witnessed history and a rematch will only potentially undo what Usyk spent his life working hard to achieve. He's done it. He completed the game. Beat the final boss. Fury vs AJ is a great fight and when Usyk retires, the devision opens up again for more great heavyweight battles from all the top 10 competitors.

How can Simon say that this is the first time fury has faced adversity, are we forgetting he was depressed and sucidal and about 26 stone before he climbed off the couch to box the head off wilder and get a draw that should of been a victory? Its an absolute disgrace the way people have been bashing fury, made heavyweight boxing entertaining again and was considered a hero and because he realised how fickle boxing fans are he stopped dancing to the tune of the public people have turned on him. Usyk is a class act and deserved the victory but fury is a legend who despite his mental troubles has given boxing fans some amazing nights. To be honest it’s quite obvious there’s more to the backlash than meets the eye.

Casuals dont tend to really understand the intricacies of boxing and its scoring system. Ive heard people say Usyk battered Tyson. On the eye test I'd agree but when you look at punches thrown,, effective punches thrown, ring control, punches blocked, the round scoring system in general, etc it was a close fight.
Usyk is one of the greats.. Olympic Gold then notable wins over Hunter, Briedis, Gassiev, Bellew, Joshua, Fury..
Best resume of any fighter of this era.

Winner of Fury Vs Usyk 2 vs winner of IBF title DDD/Hrgovic vs Joshua means we get undisputed all over again. Thats why true boxing fans want this because it keeps the prestige of the title rather than the names. Plus that's 4 more men who get a chance to make history so why not!?
The only flaw in this plan, is that by the time this fight takes place another belt will have been stripped/vacated for failing to defend mandatory challengers.
Parker will probably be due a shot for the WBO Belt by the time all that happens unless he loses in the meantime. Not sure what his next move will be but would be good to see him fight Kabayel. Both men are in the form of their life! 🥊🔥

Fury doesn't want AJ just like he didn't want Usyk. He knows he's a threat, now more than ever. It's why he teased him with potential fights only to pull out. Was meant to fight him before fighting Wilder a third time and was meant to fight him 2 Decembers ago only to bring out a random deadline. Losing to AJ would absolutely be the final nail in the coffin of his legacy.

Furys punch resistance has gone. I'm sure his wife will be begging him to retire, as he took over 10 clear shots to the head and sent round the ring like a spinning top! Those punches from Wilder have left their mark. Never was he in that state with all the knockdowns with Wilder. If he carries on he could end up like Ali.

Fury gave of his best and it was not good enough. No amount of perfuming the results could change the fact that Fury has lost the competitive edge and he's a tad slower and his reflexes not as sharp. You have to be a casual to think that Fury could win the rematch. Not going to happen and every man and his dog knows it.

@@marcust123 Who threw and landed more punches? Usyk. Who had more punching power? Usyk. Who was first and more aggressive? Usyk. Who was robbed of a KO in round 9 but for the ropes and referee? Usyk. Looking at the fight astutely, Fury won 4 or 5 rounds max while Usyk won 8 or 7 not forgetting that 10-8 round 9. I won't say that's very close.
Why could real fans want a part 2 Fury vs Usyk when it was not even Ben a close fight. Josh vs Fury is a more even fight, so it makes more sense
People don't mention the fact AJ fought Usyk 3 years ago, a reason I'm sure played into Fury messing him around for 2 years hoping he was on the downhill slightly. The guy is a machine but he isn't getting any younger & has a lot of miles on the clock from the amateurs

Very little praise for the amazing ability and heart for Fury to survive the 9th round and somehow come out and get it together in the 10th and make it competitive in last rounds.
Usysk does what he always does, he wears hos opponents down in the earlier rounds with his footwork etc making fighters work twice as hard then in championship rounds Usysk always goes up a gear...Plus his engine and chin is amazing and he hasnt abused his body over the years like Fury has.

He got back from off the floor against McDermott, Cunningham, in Wilder v Fury I and he eat an almighty straight hand from Wilder in III that would have knocked Tyson, Lewis and Ali spark out, yet he came to back KO wilder. Manny Steward himself said in order to stop Fury you need to nail him to the floor and we saw yet another example of that in the 9th round against Usyk. Fury still somehow manages to stay in the fight and recovered and yet still this Jordan questions his ability to come back from adversity. Delusional
Fury is getting a too much flack for this loss. He is good enough to beat Usyk imo just not his time anymore. Usyk is a consummate professional whereas Fury is an entertainer. Can't wait for the remattch.
