- Video footage from a farm I visited last June as they were busy Harv eating their 2022 winter wheat crop. In the video you will see the farm cutting wheat using their Gleaner S97 Super Series combine with a MacDon FD75 draper head and a their John Deere S770 combine with a MacDon FD140 draper head. running beside the combines is their John Deere 7290R tractor pulling a Kinze 1040 grain cart.

Nice gleaner, that’s what we run.
Nice to see a Gleaner for a change, tired of always seeing JD.
I remember standing in the grain tank of the Gleaner A model with no cab while my dad cut oats .
Love to see your videos. The Gleaner is Awesome.
Nice wheat harvest video👍👍 I like the gleaner and the john deere😁👍
It's always nice to plunge into summer in the middle of winter. It's especially nice to see how two cool combines work in the field. Good video!
Good job 👍
Mann to think I live bout 15 miles from where y’all filmed this is crazy. I’m in Cherokee.
Again Mike, thanks for another excellent video.
Its good to see a Gleaner with a nice wide header and it looks like a 40 footer.
Thanks Mike for another winter wheat video. Looking forward to more videos from you soon. 😀 👍🏻
Nice
Mike, It is amazing how quiet and smooth the Gleaner sounds as compared to the Deere. They are both McDon headers but different series. Maybe that is the difference.
I think you are right. The Deere was much noisier than the Gleaner and the sound difference was definitely in the headers.
Can't get too much Gleaner footage in the video's. Was the header on the Gleaner also 40'? Looks like it. Thanks for posting this.
Amazing harvest
I like Mike less videos on UA-cam from the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️🇺🇲
Good video.
Man I love gleaners
amazing farming ,sir
Nice.
Growing up on a midwest farm 70 years ago, Gleaner meant Combine. There is someone in my area who still operates one of the old galvanized machines. An N9? I believe there also were some stationary threshers built by Gleaner and still operating when I was a farm kid.
Looks like you have a bunch of Gleaner fans , great video. What was planted after the wheat came off ?
😎😎
Awesome! So which do they like better?????? We gotta Know!!! Lol
Well its my understanding the green machine was traded off and they'll have two Gleaners for next season.
@@farmhandmike wow!!
Have to be same 😊
@@rodneycody8746agreed!
with those big headers do they use auto steer to get the full width cut or are they just that good?
Has to be can't be
which combine had more capacity?
After operating both Gleaner and Deere combines in the same field, I wonder which one goes down the road for a trade?
Its my understanding they will have Gleaner number 2 for this season.
@@farmhandmike Imma be honest, that's kinda surprising
The wheat crop is very uneven! Is this the result of cattle grazing over the winter?
Cattle grazing and drought conditions I'm sure.
Gleaner combines are interesting to me. Whenever they are in a video, there are lots of people in the comments swearing they are the best thing since sliced bread, they have amazing grain samples, they are faster and more efficient than all the others etc etc...
For me, who is not a farmer, this means very little to me, I go by aesthetics. And going by that, I cannot like Gleaner. My god, what a HIDEOUS machine. 🤣🤣
I know that that is very subjective, but Gleaner combines just look awful to me. 😅
They didn't build them to look at
@@waynewilliams9680 I look at them tho. I am not a farmer, grain samples and efficiency don't matter to me. I only go by aesthetics. And Gleaners are hideous.
I like the looks of the Gleaner myself. Different than everyone else in looks and the way it works.
Looks r a lot of it there different they've be around since it started different strokes for different folks 😊
Good job 👍
