I was in the audience that night and this was the first time I heard this solo interpretation of this song. I couldn't believe it. Elton was really opening up on this leg of the solo tour and reinventing all his songs. This doesn't even try to emulate anything from the original. It's a funky electric piano soul inspired jaunt.
What a performance. Different chops, different piano mix (the acoustic piano sound more prominent than the EP where is is usually the other way around). Inverted melodies, vocal phrasing experimented with and some challenging vocal leaps. Elton in top form.clean vocals and razor sharp piano chops. Fantastic.
@@DKBastiansTwitch It def. sounds like some of the acoustic is coming through, particularly in the bass notes when he's snapping those octaves. And I mean the real mic'ed strings. Usually mixed way down but it's more prominent blended with the EP here. I was in the audience that night and I remember hearing it even more from the house mix.
It’s very tricky to keep that rhythmic baseline going while making the right hand do all the fancy work. But it’s super fun playing it. And when you nail it and get in the groove you just don’t want to stop. I once played this intro and outro for over an hour! So fun!
No encontré la mejor versión de "Libertad para Filadelfia" Muy popular en los años setenta y ochentas, en discotecas. Es bueno que la coloquen en sus listados.

one of the most beautiful performance of this song❤️
God what an amazing rendition of the song. These solo gigs are amazing
The hand independence needed for that piano seems near impossible.

Elton at the height of his powers here.
La mejor versión en concierto de esta canción, para mí, sin duda junto con la de Ephesus 👏👏👏👏👏
Love it!
Always liked the renditions of many of Eltons songs in this concert. Especially Rocket Man. Similar is 1993 and Ephesus.
❤❤❤
wow is all i can say to this
