I grew up in Dundee and can boast a large family there but we have all drifted apart as families so often do. It was great to see mention of my first work place where I assisted the artist in the art department of DC Thomsons for a time in the 1960s. My grandfather was a Black Watch member during the second war and played the Last Call on the bugle for the unveiling of the war memorial at the top of the Law Hill. Thank you for sharing a fine collection of film portraying my home city. I will forever miss Dundee.
Yes it had tram lines still in place in the city centre last time I was there but the city planners have in my opinion taken a lot out of the old city and I would not be surprised to see them gone now. It might be cleaner but is not so beautiful. A great deal of the old charm has gone especially by the river front.
Great video I was one of the youngsters I was 7 when it was completed lived in Dundee till I was 30 then moved to South Australia This video brought back so many memories Oh what tartan are you wearing. Anderson? I’m an Anderson
My Gran was a Dundee weaver too! I have visited Dundee, 45 yrs ago, and dream of returning to Scotland someday. My Granddad was a Seaforth Highlander was wounded in France. I plan to do research on my Grandparents to learn more about my Dundonean roots
This is a Brilliant piece of Video...and yet there are those who want to brutalise it..why on earth would anyone want to stoop so low....well put together Dundee Dude...How can I copy it please just to send to my sister who lives abroad and is not on Social Media?
The journalism sadly was run by a liar and the lies still flow out of the Courier door every morning. The sooner someone buys that rag and brings real journalism to Dundee the better.

I'm amazed at the crowds of people, so many of us.
20:30 So much for needing migrants to pick fruit, the berry buses were absolutely packed every summer for decades.
My people were Dundonians going back to the 1700's ... thanks for posting this!
Did Dundee have trams ? As I may have seen the metal lines on the road.

What a shame, we had no diversity to "enrich" us back then, not like the joy they have brought us and so many other cities today.
