- The "watch is ended" officially for General Sir Patrick Sanders, with General Sir Roly Walker taking over as the next head of the British Army.
Gen Roly's appointment drew praise from his former colleague Lieutenant General James Swift who told the Sitrep podcast the service picked the right person for the job.
But, what job is Gen Roly stepping into? Forces News has taken a look at Gen Sir Patrick's time in office and the job he has done.

He must be thinking. Joined up mid 1980s with an army of 200,000 And leaves as a General of 77000.
I think it's less than 72000 now it'll be even less this time next year if they can't sort retention!

The US has serious depth in their special forces…, but from all I’ve read of the history of British forces…, they always get it done…., incredibly tough stoic
You know the British SAS trained the US special forces. They started us, the American people are mentors of their legendary actions.

As a soldier and veteran we have always joked about our officers and Generals. But i don’t think one of us would ever want to change them. They are the best of our best.
The Army cannot afford to lose officers of General Sanders calibre but what is the point of having Generals like Sanders if they have no soldiers to command and support from the Government
Sir Patrick wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and fight for a stronger army and country. Unfortunate that he’s going but a damn good career

Are these Ukrainian soldiers taught how to survive Russian tactics; tactics that the British army has never experienced to my knowledge, if so how?
I mean the ukranian military will tell them the issues they face and the UK troops training them will adapt their training methods
