Nice mate, We are same day 14th of June but I’m joining the Coldstream guards which is Infantry, so i’ll go to ITC Catterick start phase 1 training.
I remember my Pass Off coming up to 8 years ago and its been a awesome time, i was a late joiner at the age of 27 and don't regret anything, I've spent time all over England and Europe and spent a total of 8 months in California I've been all over doing AT and promoted 3 times. Just enjoy it and soak it up, well done troops and enjoy your time
8 months in California, and promoted 3 times. Must be a tech? :P
Tarack1 😂 we all choose out trades 😉
@Nudge Games i can't tell you what you're dad did or not but what i can tell you is that he wouldn't have been made or forced to eat worms......
I'm 28 in a few days. I got selection for ta on 24th march. Can't wait to get it all done and passed off
@Nudge Games i dont know anything but hes probably just scared of you joining
The young narrator of this series is absolutely brilliant and I hope that he enjoys a full, rewarding career. He is a credit to the Army.
he got kicked out for coke about 6 months after passout

I finished my career twenty years ago and people always say it’s not like it used to be. How wrong; I see professional, dedicated individuals committing themselves to their country, themselves and their pals. Well done them all and good luck in their careers. Brought a tear to my eyes to also see all the int corps badges.
To all the Training Staff and to the recruits a job well done. To those soldiers who have now Passed Off and in the future, enjoy every minute. Be the Best. Ich Dien. And congrats to the couple who got engaged, to a long and happy future for you both together.
I am not a British citizen as of just now, I am 23yo , but I have been living here for nearly 5 years now. After college, I am planning to apply for neutralisation and then I would love to apply to the army.
Great video, so are the others
Keep 'em coming!
I absolutely loved basic training, all 26 weeks 😂😂 they were special but hard times. The ups and the downs. Wet, cold, tired but so rewarding when you pass out!!! Cede Nullis
I served as a Jnr Ldr RA in 88, injury forced me to leave. Do reinlisted into RCT (now RLC) in Sept 89, and badics in Regulars just before 18th birthday in Jan 90. Passed out best recruit, and although over 30 yrs ago. I still remember that day on the Drill Square. I did r very happy years in The RCT Maritime trade, as a Seaman. 20 Maritime Regt RCT (disbanded 89), but Maritime training wing still there, and 17 Port & Maritime Regt RCT were great proud Regts to be part of. Being attached to 3rd Commando Brigade RM was always fun. I joined TA 63 SAS Sigs Sqn in 02, broke my back on pre selection course doing a charity parachute jump on a weekend off.
I'm proud to have worn All 3 cap badges, but the RCT Maritime was just great. Serving at Sea was amazing on Landing Craft, Mexeflote rafts, Tug boats, and small fast patrol boats and ribs.
As you get older, you young recruits, and newly trained soldiers, will join a very long and proud line of brethren. Once a Soldier always a soldier. You'll find that although your era is different to those before, and those after. A few things are always the same. Drill is Drill, PT is torture (unless sick in the head like me, as loved it), Scran is still slop, volunteering is a no no, greyman (greyperson) is the best warrior. The Troop Cpls and Sgts will always beast you, and shout. But become great mates after training. The SSM is scary, and RSM still God lol.
This was the same from Pre Waterloo to Rorkes Drift, the Boer War to the World Wars, Korea, Falklands, First and 2nd Gulfs, Afghan and everyone in between, and beyond. That's the beauty. I've chatted to WW1 vets to younger Afghan vets. Our technology and discipline has changed. Every era will state the previous had it really tough, you own era tough, and future eras had it easy. Banter of yester year would be throwned upon today, but banter will always be banter. No civvy will ever know or understand our eccentric ways. We all from different eras in the history of the Military timeline. With every race, colour, crede, sex, and religion, known to humanity. What unites us, is we all swore the Oath, took the Queens shilling, and passed basic training, to join the best Military in the world.
I know this video is old, but what they have endured - I endured, My Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, and beyond endured. So will you who are joining will endure. You will endure Day 1 - til pass out. You will be ran ragged every step of the way by instructors that also endured what you are about to go through. Remember everything is for your growth into being the next generation of soldiers. At the time you will laugh, cry, scream in pain, but after, and esp decades after. You will look back with the same pride we old vets have. Knowing we realise it was the making of us, and the best period in our lives. It transformed us from civvy to squaddie. From us who Served - Respect to those Serving - or about to Serve. We are All proud of you.
Thanks for the video. Really shows what a great bunch of guys and girls the British Army is. You deserve a lot of credit. Great recruiting film
Is young man truly give you hope for the future god bless him all
I’m 11 and want to join the army thanks for the vids mate
Sharpie! Cpl Sharp is an absolute legend! It was an honour going through phase 1 with him
Nice to see plenty of "Loggies", did my basic training up the road at Blackdown (RAOC) 1981. Heartbreak and Sand Hill and all the others..........
Throughly enjoyed that... so smart and squared away and good luck to all for the future 👍😁
I feel quite emotional after that! I'm still waiting for a call back. I can't wait to get stuck in!
Waiting for a call back? I got mine the next day?
@@michaelbanton9253 I went for my assessment, but had to get a heart echo, seeing as it was a Saturday I couldn't stay and wait for the results so I had to head home and come back another day (I got the all clear and would've passed the medical. Starting my phase 1 on 22nd of march at pirbright. Anyone there?
Yeah, same day. See you there bro 👊🏽
After phase 1 do they take there uniform with them to take them phase 2 or do they hand it back in
You take all clothing with you but you’re better off swapping them at the Qms as they are never the right size in phase 1 as the Cpls rush sizing you up and right sizes are never in stock
Anyone going to harrogate in September
Can anyone explain why some people wear berets and some people wear the hats? Sorry for how naive I am😂
I’m in the process of joining the Mercian regiment( infantry soldier) after 4 years could I transfer to the paras and would I be in the regular para regiment?

I really enjoyed my 18 years in the Army, got to travel all over and go on many operational tours! Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan and with the UN. the only downside was when i was made redundant in 2012. Out in 12 months with not even a hand shake at the end of it! just remember once you are out you are out and you are only a number at the end of the day! you are always replaceable and no matter how long you are in you will not be prepared for life in Civvi Street as they will not give you actual resettlement training that will help you!
Yo I wasn't even up there with these guys but for some reason after watching three videos about these guys I'm crying because they finished phase 1 training. Man I'm telling I can't wait to join the army, I ain't got my exact start up date but I know its gonna be in March 2022. BTW Love your content they're really amazing and kinda serve as inspirational videos for people who wanna join the army, literally anytime I get a buddy who wants to join the army but is still abit clouded on what to do I usually just show him your videos. Love the CONTENT!!!!!!!!!
Where are you training? I start my Phase 1 at AFC Harrogate in 23 days.
Things have changed so much since my day of fifty two years ago. I was proud to be a soldier and a trooper. I hope they all realise the responsibility they have sworn to uphold, especially as they rise through the ranks. Always remember to be fair and unbiased and also remember a soldiers career is in your hands and subject to your judgement.
Big congrats to the men and women passing out!
Well done 👏👏👏
I can remember my basic training pass out parade for the sappers..25 years ago.and thinking thank god thats over.....then i hit phase 2 combat engineering training. That mad basic feel like a holiday.
Worth it when its over. Good days building and then blowing shit up
Amazing video. My daughter is passing out this Thursday and I’m so so proud I can’t wait to watch even though we can’t see it in person because of covid
What they are actually saying is they can’t wait to get off the camp 😂😂
I recently attended my youngest son's pass-out at Pirbright, I was impressed with the fact that weapon handling and fieldcraft takes up much more of the curriculum's time than it did in my day (70's) when drill was king ( in basic anyway). But drill in SHOES instead of best boots is an abomination.
Depends on corps. Boots are useless for most.
Always worth the wait! 🔝
A very interesting trilogy of vlogs that emphasised the cohesive importance of comradness within the armed forces. The final vlog laid bear the humanity of the recruits passing out. The memories of the bonds established in boot camp will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Moreover, it is ultimately the reason why a unit, any unit, functions under stressful conditions, we are one, my mates and me.
Excellent vlogs capturing the essence of service life.
I actually missed depot when I got to battalion. Having said that I went straight into a residential posting in Belfast. Proper shit!
Man...this always brings the memories flooding back. I cherish my basic memories! There were a few guys I clashed with etc but mostly it was fun. It was a great experience.
And a little tip for you new recruits.... stay away from them insta birds and get yourself someone thats a grafter ( Army chicks especially ) I know it sounds weird but you won't regret it. Im proud of you all for sticking it all the way, newbies were dropping and leaving all over the place when i first joined.. There's no better friendship than those you go through tough times with if you can make it through
Massive respect 💯💪👊
If you could, it would be great if you could get an interview with Rosie Wild who is the first woman to get into the parachute regiment. That would be really inspirational and interesting 👍🏻
arwen_m 77 lol the one that “got passed” thru .....joker!
미혜 😂😂😂 yeah right stick your lil head out the pink clouds or your arse, little less nativity will help you in life. Some ppl know what YOU don’t know so she “got passed” and that is the sad reality of the PC and all this feminist campaigns which put real soldiers life on the line! So it’s a PC stunt and for her and most importantly for other soldiers sake she will hopefully never employed in that role and keep her lil Fake achievement and a lil star in the cupboard with her other accessories! If they want female paras and infantry soldiers let them do it but form female exclusively units only so they can pump their ego and safe make soldiers life who will ALWAYS threat a woman as a woman and risk their lives and mission to save that lil 😾 who thinks she can keep up with male soldiers in real combat. F joke! Again stop living in your fairytale world!

Wonderful. Somehow, can’t we have the females in their equivalent of trousers? I mean, if they’re carrying rifles(?) Sort of “at the ready’ equivalent with the lads. Yes, yes, I know about the kilt thing, but then they’re all wearing kilts. All trousers would be more uniform.

Yes you can and have, joined the army. It was your decision, you weren't conscripted.
If you have children they will be born into the army themselves.
They will grow up knowing nothing about the world outside.
Then there's the job itself.
Either you're going to be supporting combat infantry or you'll be at the sharp end.
You're going to be deployed by the US government, fighting their pointless proxy wars, until you become traumatised, best case.
I've never met a single person who enjoyed combat.
Mostly the people I met were shot to bits, didn't particularly like being covered with bits of their mates, shooting children, or being dumped by their wives.
❤️ Fabziy, Quality content paired with quality editing! You’re a key figure for recruitment and Pirbright! Thank you!
I really need help. so Im not british nor Irish. I will be applying from common wealth country. but I just saw on the british army website that they are currently not recruiting people from common wealth countries except if you are joining as a musician, which Im not.
Do you know around when they are going to take people from the common wealth countries again?
I love the diversity that going on in the armed forces nowadays. Its refeshing. On my first day back in the mid 90's i got dismissed from the cookhouse for having "gay" trousers on ontop of all the racism that went on. Mental back then.. but good to see it moved on
In answer to the question you’re video posed, I didn’t regret joining in anyway. In fact, it’s been a very positive force in my life, 21 years ago I passed out of Pirbright in 1999. I am no longer in the Army. (Left in 2013) I now run three small IT Nuclear networks for a client as a senior consultant. I won’t have had my current success without my time in the Army so it’s still a gift that keeps giving.
(I also had the privilege to be a instructor at phase 2) although I am now Guildford based, I do go by Pirbright from time to time! It brings back memories of that time in 1999
Ayup john, just a quick one how did you cope with civvy life when you left in 2013? Did you struggle mentally, alot of lads find it hard would ya mind giving us your experience?
Liam Robinson I am one of the lucky ones, I have had a lot of luck with work it’s gone for success to success however I did have a bit of a bad year in 2017 but it’s generally been a fairly positive experience in the civvy life (I know I am the exception not the norm in a lot of cases)
But to answer your question directly, I formed a plan two years before. I left on what I wanted to do. When I did the seven clicks to freedom, as it was completely different from anything I had ever done so I had to learn from scratch. But the second question. I asked myself is this a realistic plan/goals. If that’s all a yes then it’s down to you.
@@bigjohn697791 that's great mate congratulations on all your success and obviously thank you for your service, that goes without saying. @@JammyDodger45 How could they tell just by looking at the only woman wearing trousers and with her hair covered?
@@dolfette - yes.

That could be her choice for cultural or personal reasons.
Or apply to religions other than Islam.
The OP can not tell just by looking and nor can you or I.

I don't know why but the black lads seem to rock that uniform far better than the white lads.
A very strange comment.
@@johnlustig4322 It depends on how you interpret the comment.
@@johnlustig4322 maybe, just maybe, what I meant was..they took more care to look good. Maybe they shaped their berets better and took more time on their ties??
The colour tone maybe suits their skin tone better. But hey I'm no fashion expert. Bottom line, if you're good enough to wear that uniform then you rock regardless.
My initial reaction wasn't necessarily about the colour of the lads skin. It's more of the fact that they just look more smartly turned out as they have spent more time dressing themselves correctly.their berets are very well shaped aswell.
