Great idea, Lee! I think I'd want a wee groove and an E clip at the other end from the point, or sure enough the thumbscrew would be loose and while carrying it from the back of the shop, one part or the other would bounce off the floor into "the other sock universe" ... ;)
Nice and handy tool build!! Always found scribes like this handly in builds whether its wood, leather or steel. You have me inspired to build something like this for my Blacksmith work I am starting. Be nicer than using dividers.
Nice handy tool, good build, suggestion…increase the lengths of your major marks to easily identify settings or color mark with sharpie in the line groove
