  • Game 3 the rubber match of the 2006 Subway Series from Shea Stadium Original ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Broadcast with Jon Miller, Joe Morgan, Peter Gammons and Sam Ryan recorded and digitalized/restored off the original recorded DVD and has been recently restored burned to BluRay through Macrosystem and up on the Phenia Films MLB Archive UA-cam channel. Right-hander Aaron Small (0-1) starts for the Yankees and veteran left-hander Tom Glavine (6-2) for the Mets as both teams have come from behind wins in this first Subway Series of '06 and interleague play. Yankees take a 2-0 lead in the 4th inning on a 2-RBI single from Derek Jeter. Mets answer right back in the bottom of the frame on back to back Hrs from Carlos Delgado (a 3-run HR) followed by a solo bomb from David Wright proved to be enough as Tom Glavine has another solid outing, pitching 6 innings giving up the 2 runs on 7 hits striking out 4 while walking 4, enough to earn his 7th win of the season, Aaron Small with his 2nd loss. Mets Billy Wagner makes up for the loss the day before and earns his 9th save of the 2006 season.

I was at this game i was impressed with the Mets after that weekend as a Yankee fan. Yankees were the best in the AL and Mets NL that year I thought there would be another subway World Series. Yankees crapped the bed against the tigers and Mets lost to a 83 win cardinals team.
