Just bought my Sony FX30 and needed to know which V mount battery would be best for my setup. You answered all my questions and I'll be going with the VB99 SE. Appreciate the content man.

What's crazy is the newer Smallrig NP-F970 Batteries are 75 watts and cheaper than the VB50 , last longer and are smaller. They should reduce the prices of the VB 50 for sure

bought both the VB90 and VB50...The VB99 is perfect, but if I'm using the VB50 on a Canon R5C. I can plug and power with USB-C or the D-tap to dummy battery...both are fine, but if I plug in any other accessory into the USB ports (A or C) it shuts power off from the VB50 even if the accessory (external monitor, mic, etc) is within the acceptable voltage parameters. Not sure what is going on. Maybe my VB50 is defective?

Thanks for sharing your experience, it could be that the VB50 doesn't support parallel charging once it reaches a certain wattage amount.

@@jongreenit I could understand that except that it is fully charged and did that right away. I tried every combination of USB-C, USB-A, and D-tap-to-dummy with the same result every time. I didn't have that issue with the VB99 which has similar power specs other than capacity. 😞

@lunarvue It could be a defect, I've been using my VB50 for quite some time now and haven't had any issues powering both the camera via dtap and a monitor via the DC ports

hey great video but one issues sometimes in the video. Sounds like someone is vacuuming or a loud noise is heard in the background. I would recommend using adobe podcast to remove those noises :D

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be sure to look into the audio issue and check out Adobe Podcast. Your suggestion is much appreciated!
