Animals cant express their feelings with words but they dont need it their actions speak louder than any word or sound, absolutely adorable, relaxing and comforting
One of the hypotheses for what ASMR is is that it's a leftover from our furred ancestors. We get a pleasant tingling sensation from close personal attention, and that encouraged our ancestors to participate in social grooming. The phenomenon isn't detrimental at all, so there was no evolutionary pressure to lose it after we lost our fur.
This is relaxing and all, but can we please acknowledge the fact that monkeys only do these things to whom they consider a family/friend? Like the way they groom their offsprings? This monkey really loves him 😭💕 also, that constant mouth noise is really tingly 😍
Feel like I’ve read somewhere that they make that particular sound on purpose b/c it’s relaxing (& not just b/c they’re chewing on dead skin & bugs lol). If that’s true, that’s super cool
Our distant ancestors would have used similar methods of communication, so there could be an ancient part of your brain that still responds positively to that sound. Monkeys are our cousins, after all. We all have the same ancestor.
I absolutely love the sound of that little feller so damn cute but he has the sweetest little lip smacking sound I can listen to it for hours puts me to sleep every time man I tell you dude you're really lucky to have such a cool pet one that is so friendly and loyal to you he seems like he really loves you sincerely please keep sending the videos we all really enjoy watching them and mainly listening to them ASMR
1st time watching and I must say I'm impressed at how relaxing this really is. I love monkeys 🐒 🙈 so this isn't weird to me at all and I truly appreciate the precise care that he takes grooming his owner. It's cute, funny and relaxing ASMR content all in one 😌 ☺️ 👌🏿 😊 😄 🤗
I don't know how you trained him not to swallow his gum while chewing... But it's Seriously impressive. I didn't learn that lesson until I was like 25.
He is also looking for ticks, skin sores that he can clean up. He will gently squeeze a blemish! They seem sometimes to be putting a healing on an ill part of the body! It’s fascinating!
Ya know one time when i was getting a pet guinnea pig the nice lady at the pet shop (they did rescues and didn't keep animals not suited to that location) had a ring tailed lemur wearing a diaper and he jumped onto my shoulder, she asked first if i wanted it. And he combed through my hair a little bit and it was the most relaxing thing ever. This is awesome.
Whats your favorite part about having this little guy in your family? My favorite part about having an animal like a cat or dog is their personalities are so different in my perspective and learning to love them is awesome.
Its insane how aware to everything monkies really are, i know we are related to apes and chimpanzees but jesus the intelligence of these creatures is amazing
My understanding is that the lip smacking behaviour is usually a sign of anxiety. The groomer is benefited as much as the groomee - not only does it help with general hygiene, it is calming and reinforces social standings/connections.
That feel when this is really good ASMR content but you're scared to death of monkeys and can't relax at all when you see one. Leaving a like by way of an apology for being scared of your monkey.
I remember how crazy in 2007 it was when the first iPhone came out and thinking WOW I can’t wait to see what the future holds. 16 years later lying in bed at 2am with my iPad watching monkeys groom humans to sleep. What the hell happened?
Can people just hold the camera still ffs 😂 all these videos with monkeys keep moving the camera around so much it cancels out the relaxing for me and actually makes me anxious 😂 (granted, this is the best one so far)
Grooming is very important in some cultures mostly darker ones. I’m native American and it’s widely known that if you are well groomed (hair braided) it tells others in the community you are well loved and worth loving. It’s instinct that you make your loved ones socially acceptable to the group. I don’t see this so much in white culture unless it’s harder to spot. idk. But an ungroomed or poorly kept person will most certainly feel like an outcast or be ousted from the group. Warning to parents. When you send your kid to school. Keep them clean and groomed. or you’ll be heading to the psychiatry center for therapy.
Oh my GOD 🥺 he is so cute and sweet AND he loves you very much 😭💖 you are extremely lucky to have a monkey! I can only dream of owning my own cute baby pet monkey
What type of monkey is that. What state do u live in? I want to own one. I have disabilities and I think it could help me. Of course I'd care for the animal as well.
You can see shared mannerisms in many different mammals. What's your point? There are rodents that literally wash themselves like we do in the shower...
Not only ASMR inducing but absolutely adorable to watch. Monkeys only do that for those they love. :)
hes a paid actor dont fall for it mate
Actually, grooming is a troop activity to help cut down on disease caused by parasites.
@@NIGHTOWL-jf9zt true but only on their own locals group imitating love and cleanliness
Grooming also reinforces connection and bonding between troop members?
Is that smacking sound something they do to make the groomed one relax and not move around?

Yeah, it tried to poke his eye out very affectionately.
They express their feelings, they can talk but we are not able to understand their language, similarly they are not able to understand our language.

So I guess you can say…this is the original asmrist 😮
Or a reminder from when young and mothers take care of you and try to get you to fall asleep maybe
That... Is the single best explanation. No anthropologist can beat that

This has always been my personal theory, good to know I’m not the only one.
Monkey is like "Imma groom this human so hard! But where is the bugs!?"
Believe it or not, even if monkeys don’t find bugs, they will pretend to find some to show affection and build trust

Your dermatologist is very thorough.
I appreciate how you gave him some privacy when he started to hone in on his boy bits.

Everyone else: "Aw look at the monkey so cute!"
Me: "How does he have enough bugs on him to keep a monkey busy for nearly 20 minutes?"
It's not just bugs they'll eat skin such as around your fingertips and dandruff amongst other things they find

I swear to god this monkey is my FAVORITE ASMRtist!! Hands down!!!
Turns out monkey is the best skin care routine.
