- So, I thought it was about time we had some more Larry Semon. If you enjoyed the reconstruction of DULL CARE we posted, this is the next film he made. Here's all the footage I could find for the rather rare DEW DROP INN - a typical 90mph vehicle for Larry, who's playing.... wait for it...... a detective! - on the trail of Moonshine Mooney (Frank Alexander) and his gang (Bill Hauber & Co). Apart from Lucille Carlisle again, watch out for Frank Hayes as the directeress (!) of the Female Follies Film Company. Beautiful.
Larry was awesome in my opinion. He never really got the recognition that he deserved
Thank you for posting so many outstanding films!😊❤👍
Thanks Brenda. I wish I had more time to post more!
I love old clips like this. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for finding this, I have never heard of Larry Semon I think he's very funny
This is great! Thank you for posting this!
My pleasure.
11:25 Most likely a stunt double, but that was some impressive back flip there!
Semon was really good in the teens. Have you considered releasing a package dedicated to his earlier funnier 1 and 2 reelers?
That would certainly be a package I'd like to buy! : )
In the axe-eating scene- the contrast between Semon's made up face and his hands is quite striking- that film stock made tanned or ruddy flesh look pretty nasty.
BTW- I would not have believed it, but Semon makes a less convincing woman than Hayes.
Right, orthochromatic film aka X-ray film made skin look tanned and eyes light.
