really refreshing that an interviewer in games is like really listening to the people they're interviewing and able to articulate talking points back AND adds to the point. felt naturally conversational and enthusiastic. such an important duo in fgc history to tell the story right too, you were prepared and it shows. keep up the good work! also, always heard about the cannons during my time in the fgc but don't get a lot of info specifically on how and why they were so integral, again, great work here
Amazing interview. It's really awesome to hear the background of some of the most foundational figures in the FGC. They really represent everything incredible about the community - competition, innovation, and passion for the games themselves instead of a drive for profit. Excellent work.
The passion of these brothers literally affected the world! Hearing their story, and the amazing job Lester did interviewing them, is inspiring. I'm gonna Hadouken someone now...
I met one of the Cannon brothers (I think Tony) at EVO top 8. There were no seats, the crowd was packed, and he was standing in the bleachers. I'm sure he could have been in one of the suites watching, but he was in the crowd with everyone else.
Thank you, Tom, and Tony. You two, along with your amazing, dedicated, team made memories for so many. My first Evo was at UCLA. All on arcade cabinets. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Great job on the doc, OP. It's pretty cool seeing Tom and Tony talking. When I see them, they are usually working hard.
it's really fun to watch this on the a16z channel knowing that every venture these guys did a16z would completely botch. They are the investors they're talking about at 38 minutes or so. Really good video, just a shame it's on here

Riot and IP? You gotta be joking. League = stolen IP, Valorant = stolen IP, TFT = stolen IP. Forgive the salt but I'm sick of this shark-like company swallowing up real talent, and spitting out generic, albeit popular, trash. For fighting games specifically, a certain cool / edge factor has been a core element, anyone who's been around the block knows Riot is the exact opposite, they're playing safe to a fault. That said, I really shouldn't expect any sincere involvement, or value, from A.I. pushers. "democratizing games"? again you gotta be joking. Steam releases are now 90% completely forgettable, completely generic, minimal effort maximum profit expectancy garbage. I won't see you non-gamer corporate tourists murder a once passion-project field. It's time to call a shark, a shark.
This is such a great video! Also can I still buy them B3 Tapes?!?!
A LEGEND HAS ENTERED THE ARENA

This video is ridiculously humbling. I am blessed to be a part of this amazing and rich history.
